Van den Broeck... shouldn't wait, he lost 2 minutes due to technical problems the first week. They didn't neutralize the race for him.

Completely different scenario though
You can't wait going into a MTF in first week that decides a lot. You can however wait when there's 40 km's of flat/descent.

Sabotage of some sort from a "fan". Hope someone saw who it was and gives him a beating. |

True, they shouldn't wait there for him the first week, but if he doesn't wait now, the loss could be status quo for both. |

And also, could they neutralise the time gaps at the finish (if there is any) for the likes of Costa, Scarponi and Evans?

Cofidis DS Stéphane Augé says the road has been covered with tacks and pins.

Sprick and J. Pineau got flats as well. Somebody has let pins on the road, according to FDJ D.S. 28 pins he's gotten so far.
I wonder how that's possible, since it seems to have happened after the break, and no non-official car could drive there in the middle of the race. |

You compare 2 scenarios that can't be compared.
1. A mountain stage that is going to make a real difference in the GC
2. A flat stage with 2 climbs that didn't make any battle in the GC
In 1. you don't wait. There is war going on. In 2. there is no point in attacking. It's a settled run-out.
Grow a brain. |
