It's just been replayed twice in slowmo on Danish TV - it looks like Anton goes down first, doesn't look like it's caused by contact with another rider. Best guess from here is his frontwheel slips while he's on the white bits.
Edit: It actually looks like he crashes and takes out Martinez and the other riders who are behind him. But it's a little strange, it happens out of nowhere. No swerve, contact or braking. Could've been a flat too - that would make sense judging by the footage.

This is not even close to that situation. You are nearly quoting the norwegian commentators in your comments here, that's not smart, at least as long the commentator is named Atle Pedersen and sucks at commentating
ember. You should follow my example and mute whenever Atle Pedersen is commentating How that man ever got a job commentating beats me.Awful. Simply awful |

Anders Lund just said to the camera that an Euskaltelrider lost his handlebars. I assume that he means that he lost his grip on the handlebars, not that the handlebars actually came off the frame.
Edit: He also said he did not see iff it was Anton or not.

Totally true, shame that Stoltenberg is at the same place as me, norwegian championship in summerbiathlon
He's an earlier cyclist, and they tends to get jobs as commentator easy, very often way too easy |

If you are the leader of the Vuelta, you cannot stay among the group. I'm sorry for Anton, but it was stupid |

He lost his handlebars, it's not like he was riding like an asshole. It might even not have been him going down first. How is this stupid by Anton, i don't get it? |

Same thing that happened in 2008 before Angliru.
This sucks because when there will be so much MT finishes and steep climbs, where Anton can show his best? Only hope that next years route will be a little bit similar. Spoiler And even maybe show Contador that at Vuelta Castilla Leon it wasnt just a lucky day for Anton

I wrote it because I was tired of listening to Atle Pedersen many commentary mistakes. And when you then managed to quote his mistakes I just felt that I had to let you know.... |

First there were the comparison between Schlecks chain and Anton's fall, which Pedersen thought was similar situations, you post that they are similar situations 30 seconds later. Then there were that Pedersen said that Sastre nor Tondo were in the front group, you posted it here immediately Lastly you said the time gap was 23 seconds between Rodriguez and Nibali, because Pedersen said it, the picture showed that it was maximum 21...
I'm most likely overreacting, but please stop quoting Pedersen the next Vuelta stages, I'm just way too bored and tired of that man and his commenting
I may go with a spanish audiolink tomorrow
EDIT: And yes, Mosquera too

Apparently, Purito got stung by a wasp and that's why he was covering his eye.

Just seen the stage. What has the orange colour that all GC riders in it tend to kiss the ground so often? It's seriously amazing. I'll closely watch Menchov the next year to see if changing team has an influence over it.
Also, when will Joaquim stop being top form? What's this, his fourth peak? Either that, or it's the third being the first quite long.
Nibali has the chance of his life to win a GT. I'm really looking forward to see how will he handle it.
Now, bring me the Lagos. |

Bits and pieces. Anton now confirms that he crashed on his own. He says he doesn't know what happened, that he might've hit a hole or something.
Nibali will wear the jersey tomorrow despite it being customary not to wear the leadersjersey if you've gained it because the former leader went out of the race through an accident. He said that he feels for Anton, but he also has to think of his sponsor. Also, he says he mistook the banner at the mountainsprint for the finishlinebanner when Rodriguez passed him, but he chose to ride his own pace after Rodriguez passed.

It sounds like it was another Euskaltelrider, because if he can't tell the difference between Anton and the other Euskaltelriders, then he hasn't watched Anton's jersey closely enough. |

It was Anton, he said so himself. And theyh were going 80km/h a few riders said. I'm not sure you have time to look real good at 80km/h =) |
