sorry about that Addy, for some reason I thought today was Saturday. which unfortunately it isn't

Hahahahaha, have you even watched today's stage!?!?!?!?!?!?
Dekker was better than Menchov, hell, on the pre-ultimate climb he only had 17 guys in his wheel!!
You are REALLY underestimating Dekker. You have no clue what you're talking about.
exactly. Dekker did much better than I'd counted on.
there's no disputing his quality, I just thought the fall would've affected him severely. somehow it didn't as it did others.
well done to Thomas |

Did Menchov even do anything today? Dekker was on fromnt for a while, then Boogerd took over, and Menchov was dropped.
Good work by Millar, Dekker and Popovych - the Peleton Destroyers of the Day.

Menchov pulled for not even half a minute before Popovych did. when Jaroslav went to the front, he dropped like a stone...things are definitely not going his way |

Good work by contador too, i don't think we can count him out of wining the tour yet.
Then again though this is a werid tour.

Dekker ws dropped before menchov on the final climb . When menchov got dropped he sat on the group with valverde. just goes to show the russian is rubbish without steroids.

my question is....why did Pereiro wait for Valverde when he was clearly hanging on to the favorites' group? makes no sense

every year people say that
considering how usual surprises are, it wouldn't fret me very much if tomorrow one of the strongest so far would crack completely. I'm not saying it's going to happen. just that it wouldn't surprise me, considering the usual run of surprises
on the plus side, we could see Vino, Valverde, Pereiro, Menchov going hard at it for the Vuelta win
not to mention Sastre, Marchante...and a few others... |

Menchov will go for the vuelta and he'll win, (because of steriods) Popovich loooked really strong today, if he hadnt worked on the front he could have easily been with contador.

correction: I had Sastre in there too (he hurt his knee on stage 5)
I guess the lesson is: whoever I predict crashes. great! I predict Valverde will win every race for the next 20 years! |

Wow Rabobank were insane today. They were setting a killing pace up the first climb which slowly killed the one big rider after the other. Rasmussen even told after the stage that he told them to slow down so they wouldnt be too tired before reaching Paris. But I think they should make Menchow go to the front before Boogerd. The russian is clearly riding extremely bad compared to last year and Boogerd is just getting better and better.
The most important thing is that Evans lost some minutes today. Now I think its only Contador and Rasmussen who are able to win. Klöden will most likely lose time tomorrow and wednesday. Besides that I think Evans will lose time on wednesday too. It looked like he complety misjudged his powers today. Very stupid of him to go after Rasmussen again and again when it was clearly killing him. Go Rasmussen! |

to be honest, we can't be sure of much in this years tour. But i think your correct, Rasmussen/Contador for yellow
Boonen for green
and there's still a fight for polka dot

Maybe because Dekker took half the penultimate climb for his own. while Menchov just sat in the wheels. Ofcourse you can hold on to the peloton longer, then again, Menchov dropped like a stone and he finished BEHIND dekker, check the results again. He didn't sit in the group Valverde... he finished 37th, 10 minutes down, 5 minutes behind Dekker.

Yes Ruben has been right all this time, everyone doubted Dekker was as good as Ruben ALWAYS says, but todays ride shows that he really is awesome, and will probable be a future Grand Tour winner.
definatley between Rasmussen and Contador for yellow, i hope Rasmussen will do it, purely because no-one has ever thought him capable of winning a GT with his TT ability, and Contador will definatley win the TdF in a couple of years time, if not next year.
Obviously Contador will own the white jersey, as i predicted from the start (so did everyone, but i was right none the less )
and I hate to admit it but Boonen will win green , unless he doesn't make it through the mountains, which i really hope he doesn't, so then Robbie Hunter can win green, for Barloworld, who have been a superb wildcard choice.
Team competition will go to Disco, because of Contador, Levi and Popo

Great win by Contador. Super Ride by Popo. Pope cracked almost all the favorites and who was left? Levi (<3) Contador, Rasmussen, Soler, and Sastre. Mayo choked again. Valverde proved he is one of the most overrated riders in the peloton. To bad for Vino he looked like he was back yesterday. EXCELLENT ride for Horner and Vande Velde, not to mention Hincapie driving it on the flat. |
