So... how bout that draw Germany and USA. You know, just "have trouble" scoring and that'll nice and tidy it up.

I'm lost for words at the moment, it's going to take 2-3 days for me to recover properly. What a game. 30 seconds away...

How can a team be better if they don't score and allow a goal????
But now we will see, which team is better.
I hope USA can score again. The more European teams fail, the better...
Are you serious? Of course you can be the better team in the gameplay without having the lead, thats the beauty of football, the best team doesn't always win. |

If it does happen and both teams tactically play for a draw then it would be a disgrace to the World Cup and football in general.
I hope no pre match agreement happens as if there is I believe sanctions should be brought against both nations. You play to win regardless.

If anything USA has to play to win otherwise a draw means it's Belgium next and then possibly Argentina waiting after that. Game over. A win gets us on the right side of the knockout bracket.

Belgium is so overrated because lots of young talents. They suck as a team and I am fairly sure USA is better at this point and could easily beat them now.
Argentina, however, is totally different story. They're not in perfect form at the moment, but I am sure they'll get better and better as the tournament ends comes closer. So, USA will hardly pass them, but we've seen so much weird things on this WC that USA winning that duel wouldn't surprise me, at all.

at this point only France and Germany really impressed me, even if Germany drew against Ghana..
They just play so much better than all other teams..
Argentina only had 2 moments where Messi came through for them. Holland only played well for 40 minutes.
Brazil is not convincing at all.. Belgium bores their opponents to death so they fall asleep and then strike.. Hmm |

Happy for the draw. Was split on who to root for.
bbl and mre, you aren't THAT excited for football the other three years, right?
@Mre: I disagree. Belgium hasn't shown too much to say anything, though on paper they might be tougher than second place of Group H. After that, you might be looking at Argentina or France. Frankly, Argentina are too one-dimensional, and France hasn't shown many bad signs yet.

Lol that is same logic as Froome crashing on Champs in yellow, would you then say he deserved to lose? Trust me Croatia did not deserve to lose to Brazil. Not everything is deserved Lachi, F1 is the same where somene is leadig by being slower. It is all down to luck. |

Actually yes I was that excited. I'm a longtime supporter not a band wagoner that jumps on every 4 years (nothing wrong with them either as they are ones we need to help the sport grow). Need proof? Check the World Cup qualifying thread or the face behind the member thread (I was captain of our HS Varsity soccer team my senior year).
Belgium or Algeria/Russia/N.Korea: Not Belgium
France or Argentina: We are done regardless, unless we got another USA miracle in us.

It depends what "better" mean for you. In game of football, the game is played on goals, not possesion, not beauty, not whatever. GOALS!
Who score more goals and allow less, is the better side. Easy

Ste- see West Germany 1-0 Austria, 1982. Spontaneously fixed after West Germany went ahead on 10 minutes, both teams realising that if the result stayed as it was they would go through at the expense of Algeria, who had beaten West Germany but had lost to Austria. German flags and banknotes among objects burnt in the crowd.
Disclaimer- Most of my posts are me thinking aloud. And most of what I think is rubbish.

Portugal just like against Germany, had no legs to put pressure on the midfield. If the germans wish to, they can trample USA, the americans just don't have much passing quality.
On the other end, I think Ghana could actually win against Portugal and go through to the last 16 round.
Today I'm expecting Brasil to win of course, while Mexico vs Croatia should be a very interesting game. Netherlands vs Chile will be a great game to watch as well |
