I have always said that if Great Britain were defeated in war I hoped we should find a Hitler to lead us back to our rightful position among the nations. I am sorry, however, that he has not been mellowed by the great success that has attended him. The whole world would rejoice to see the Hitler of peace and tolerance, and nothing would adorn his name in world history so much as acts of magnanimity and of mercy and of pity to the forlorn and friendless, to the weak and poor. ... Let this great man search his own heart and conscience before he accuses anyone of being a warmonger.
Yeah, Churchill.

Steering it back to the raising of the retirement age in France, my car's been running out of fuel since last weekend and still can't chance upon any open gas station. Yap the strike's touched all 12 of the refineries here. Fairly even happened to bump into one open but there were a dozen of cars for each f****** pump so I didn't consider it worth hanging on any longer -do regret that. It reminds me of the ineluctable moment "no petrol left in the world".
The stuff is that now bus' drivers, metros, La Poste and other useful institutes, too, went out on strike as they didn't seem to acknowledge that this reform was inevitable. Actually I'd mean that roughly half of the people in the street didn't even know that, as the average life span of the Human had risen, the lifetime of work should accordingly follow the turning-up by raising the limit retirement age from 60 to 62 unless they know and then that's serious.
Just use your loaf otherwise how the heck could one play for five? Can't think of if any other ways to go through. To clear up the stuff of French-always-strike-for-bullshits, we sometimes did not. And sometimes we did so we got part of History for that.
However, note that what's up in France shall be dealt with in heaps of other countries if it's not been done yet. Let's wait and see.

I read we'll be annoyed for 4 or 5 more days. I had done 65 km during the last week, sadly I had to use it for work (forgot to reserve one of the company car for myself) and again today and tomorrow. Then 450 km this week-end (minimum). Hopefully I'll have enough gas left for some more days when I'll be back here. Grr, how annoying. And naturally they raised the gas prices at the pump.
I think demonstrators are being both egoistic and conservatives. "Other people have retired at 60, it'd be unfair if I had to retire later than them" and "We've always retired at 60 (don't touch traditions)". Idiots. |

I didn't know where to post that, and I didn't feel like starting a new topic, but they've just caught one of those fucking swimmers.
Enough with those "that's safer than cycling, and they win", or those "doping is cycling, not swimming".
Oh, apparently he was suspended for one month already, and got a 2 years, no wait, a 2 months ban, so he'll be able to take part in the National Championships.
I think I need to puke in a swimming pool now.

Finally found a gas station that only supplied unleaded which was what I'd been looking for.
There's of course doping in swimming, Let's, for instance, have a glance over the French swimming team in which most of them have broken some records for some years while they obviously used to swim like couch potatoes. To get more into it, the point got me wondering how the hell Alain Bernard, eg, can break as many records as he's done since the European Championship 2008. All right he suddenly got way too much athletic from that time...
The same might go for a chunk of sports. It'd seem that through each sport the doping control is either different or nonexistent. Also, the aspect of doping may be regarded as a crime so it's thoroughly tracked or as it's-not-possible-in-this-sport hence there's no talk about. Regarding the latter, football could certainly be part of.

I keep on getting this error.
Unable to establish connection to MySQL
2002 : Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111)
Usually about every 3 minutes, and it logs me off each time I try to re-enter the site afterwards. I am wondering if anyone else has been getting this problem in the last 2 days or if it is just me. It only happens with this site too.

^ Yeah i've been getting it for about the last hour, just was able to get back on.
I could get into the forum section, but I can only see the forum template, no threads or anything. There is a message that says: MySQL server has gone away. Hope everything is alright. |
