I don't know how I should have found the exact correct spot. Maybe I should have seen that the "sidewalk" was wide, which could indicate that the spot is close to the sea.
This is going to annoy people but oh well, you play the game how you play the game.
Googled - "seahorses and jellyfish painted on building india" about 4 rows down the building comes up, and if you click on it takes you to a personal blog which talks about a vacation to this spot. Only spot on google maps was a photo sphere of that image.
Saw the direction that they drive and went through a few countries until I found it. Did not use the taxi thing MARS did.

Alright, thanks.
I tried to google seahorse and a few different things but when it didn't give any results, I was like "screw it" and decided I didn't want to waste more time.

In to the second half of the season now and the battle for the win is about to intensify. Particularly as Brewer has found himself in a pretty chilly field after being thrown out of a car at high speed. But hey, at least the sun's out and there are worse places to spend an afternoon. But where exactly is this place?
With Easter coming up, we should be able to rattle through these next two rounds hopefully. I will give you 48 hours from now for this one.

Somewhere there has to be a comparison between doping and using Google with Geoguessr!
This one is more like it. |

Yeah, I've made the comparison several times myself. The big different though, is that it's very hard for brewers to arrange doping controls in this game.

Okay, let's use some democracy here as we have a new scenario. Do you guys think someone should be allowed to send in a second answer? Or should their first answer be final as soon as they send it? I don't have particularly strong thoughts either way as I didn't specifically state that your first answer was final but what do you all think?
For those that haven't sent anything for this round, you still have around seven hours.

I think yes.
For example:
Maybe someone wants to make a proper guess — which may require some time — but has a lot of other stuff to do in life. It could be good to be allowed to send in some sort of "backup guess" in the first place in case the person don't know if he will have the time to do a legitimate research later.
If the person doesn't find any time to spend on this game later, he will always have his backup guess. If the person actually finds some spare time, he is able to send in another, maybe better, answer.
However, I don't think anyone should be able to send in more than two guesses.

I was going to say 1 and done.. but I guess if you find some spare time so go back and look again then it should be okay. But the final submission will be the one that counts.
I will say yes, more than one is okay, as I almost did this also before

Okay, you are allowed to send in a second answer as long as it's before the deadline of course. The reason I asked is that this particular answer carries a lot of significance. Thank you to lakebeach and jseadog1 who seemingly do literally everything together.
One hour until the deadline.

If lakebeach and I are close on this random one that gives like no hints, then something HAS to be up
I know I am not getting any help from him or seeing his answers in anyway, so I blame him!

This one was definitely a change of pace, comfortably the hardest challenge so far. There were no concrete clues that would get you the exact location but the snowy fjord clearly narrows it down a lot. The very small harbour to the left is an extremely vague clue but could help you narrow it down if you were getting close. But did anyone get close on this extremely difficult round? Here are the 14 submissions.
| Marcovdw | Drumnadrochit, Scotland | | PeterRyder | Tocopilla, Chile | | jseadog1 | Kamloops, B.C., Canada | | afirm | Klaksvik, Faroe Islands | | The Rider | Steinkjer, Norway | | Bjartne | Ustaoset, Norway | | matt17br | Lake Tennyson, New Zealand | | AbhishekLFC | Jackson Lake, Wyoming, USA | | lakebeach | Bella Coola, B.C., Canada | | Selwink | Akureyri, Iceland | | Dippofix | Middle of nowhere near good old Eyjafjallajökull, Iceland | | Waghlon | Vangsnes, Norway | | MARSUPILAMI | Kiev, Ukraine | | jandal7 | Lake Hawea, New Zealand |
Unsurprisingly you were all over the place. Europe, North America, South America, Oceania. We had two new entrants to Season 2 in Dippofix and jandal7. Guess what? jseadog1 and lakebeach were in the same Canadian province within 50 miles of each other. If this was an exam, you guys would be in trouble for plagiarism by now. Three people were in Norway, two in Iceland and two in New Zealand. Chile and Ukraine were stranger answers but did they pay off? Where was our explorer/idiot?
As afirm incredibly got bang on, the correct location was on the southern outskirts of Klaksvik, Faroe Islands. How far away was everyone?
| afirm | 0 | | Marcovdw | 557 | | Dippofix | 681 | | Selwink | 683 | | Waghlon | 705 | | Bjartne | 800 | | The Rider | 950 | | MARSUPILAMI | 2585 | | jseadog1 | 6178 | | lakebeach | 6238 | | AbhishekLFC | 6435 | | PeterRyder | 10907 | | matt17br | 17788 | | jandal7 | 18039 |
I don't know how he did it but that is a stunning effort from the ever consistent afirm. Those that guessed Iceland, Norway or, indeed, Scotland were in the right ballpark and will receive some nice points as a reward. Kiev may have been the strangest answer of the whole season but actually brings Marsu some decent points as opposed to those not in Europe at all. Those in New Zealand took a risk that backfired spectacularly but I rate the attempt. Dippofix gets third on his debut by plumping for the absolute wilderness in southern Iceland. Nice effort.
With the top two struggling a bit in this round, what does that do to the standings? Well, I think we know who's now at the top.

afirm takes a 120 point lead at the top with Marcovdw moving into second, though Bjartne and Marsu are right there with him in a very tight contest for second. Waghlon is hanging on to that battle but needs a big score next round to move closer. lakebeach and jseadog1 are now just two points apart in mid-table, the same gap as separates Selwink and The Rider. Dippofix flies straight up to 14th with a great start. Hopefully, he'll stick around for the remainder of this season. jandal7 wasn't quite so lucky but it's still great to have more names on the leaderboard.
Four rounds to go. Round 7 will begin tomorrow afternoon.

My first guess was Norway, but after going up and down the coast I couldn't find the right mountain.
Today I had several hours on my hand and nothing much to do, so I expanded my horizon. Now I know the coast of every country north of Denmark.
I guess if you spend enough hours, and have a bit of luck, the you'll find the place eventually. |
