I guess that list of ten teams are those who haven't posted enough?
I guess I find it hard to post unless my team is doing ok, otherwise I'll just end up complaining a lot, or writing pointless comments. And then sometimes I don't want to comment if my team IS doing ok, because I don't want to ruin my luck or rub it in other managers' faces that somehow I've picked the lucky bug this season.
Like Scarponi winning a hilly stage, which also moves me back into Team GC win, and Faiers moves up a GC place whilst seeming to be uninjured from crashing.
If that was any other team, it would have been "best sprinter in break foiled" and "GC rider fails once more, loses 8 minutes."
Sorry.
n.b. There's also some pretty seriously naff life events happening at the moment, so it's a struggle to post productively and positively at times.

Yes, less than 5 posts over 19 reports is not enough, and some of those 10 teams have been poor at commenting all season.
Not commenting at all is equivalent to saying "I don't care about the game", as far as I'm concerned. Too many PT teams are falling into that category, and I've had enough of it. It's plenty of effort to report a race, very little effort to post a comment - and if too many people can't be bothered doing the latter, what's the point of reporting the races, or even having the ManGame at all?
Any post is better than no post. Even one line posts are fine if they are at least regular. At the very least acknowledge the reports and thank the reporter, if you have nothing to say about the racing itself. Being part of the ManGame isn't just about the off-season.

Great to see that you managed to squeeze in another stage for today
Not the most entertaining stage from my team, but at least the teams classification seems to be secured now despite the fact that I don't have any time - trialists in my team here.
And it's a shame Kreder doesn't get to finish the race. It would have been nice to finish with a full roster.

Someone throw that man a
Sweet Jesus wtf was that, it was a ridiculous tour de force by Jose reminds me of some of his ctour wins of old but that was when he had like 6 stats on everyone in mountain. Just super dominant. Machado and amador made to look very lame scrambling with the others.
Cancellara has done some superb rides but Alarcons win in Pyrenees and this stage have got to be red bull's big highlights of their run so far.

Out of the top10 is not good.
But I think Keizer should be inside again after the ITT.
He really has to win this one though to deliver some points. Had a bit higher expectations pre race to be honest. |

Jose fucking Alacorn! What a ride, what a demonstration, what a whatever! Again, congrats, Smowzy
And once again a huge report, SN. Really loved to follow this race so far. Some good action on the road, too. Alacorn smashed and sealed it today. Machado and Amador to podium, which is nice to see.

Ok Alarcon we get it.
2nd place looks likely now which is good, but this will be our 2nd goal we miss by only a place.
I agree with SN on the activity matter. Posting regularly should be mandatory except for special circumstances. A one line rant, or just saying thanks or congrats is better than nothing and it's highly appreciated.

Looks like Faiers was injured then. Hope to hold onto 2nd Team GC, but I'm sure I don't have many good TTers left - in fact I know I don't. Costagli and Scarponi aren't reknown for TTing, and the other weak domestiques are here more for experience than anything else.
Still, the reports have been fantastic to read, and as always, even if I don't say after every race, stage, I appreciate the detail and love to read every word of every PT race. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for the efforts everyone puts in. It brings a temporary smile to my life.

Wow, such a strong ride by Alarcon! Big congrats to Smowz, I expected he would be a big failure in this season for you, but he is the total opposite. Alarcon is amazing.
Decent ride by Velits too. Hopefully he will be able to keep that 4th place before Contador now. Nice to see Sergent surviving all mountains as well, if he has anything left in the tank, he could do a decent TT. As Howard didn't make it this time, I expected that. This is still a quite good race for my team.

What a stage by Alarcon! That's just incredible seeing the opposition, as there are a couple of other 84 climbers as well.
Contador looked to have one of his better days, which was great considering the battle for a top 5. If he avoids a terrible daily form in the TT, he should be able to keep Suaza behind. Suspect the gap to Velits is too much to take back in the fight for 4th, but a great daily form might change that.
Congratulations to Smowz and thanks for another great report from a mountain stage, SN. The action on the toughest stages has been great to read about. |

Tinkoff is fine because Oleg has been on holiday since the start of Colombia, but otherwise, it is getting quite frustrating.
Sometimes i think PT managers are least active group in the man-game, as the whole, which is a bit shame in the top end of the game. Also it seems that 70-80% care only about PT (really i have never seen half of them commenting in PCT or CT threads, sorry boys). Hopefully it will get better in the future.
Anyway nice reports from Colombia, where we have witnessed another ACC fest with Alarcon and Suaza being so strong. In the last reported stage it was too much for home favourite from Vesuvio, but i believe manager can be happy anyway with his GC position.
Good to see Velits finally improving his position, sad to see him suffer a bit with low accelerations, alongside Denifl with same problem.

It is a shame that many PT managers just barely say much in particular for stage races. But then and it aint a justification really sometimes their team barely do anything.
As you say it isn't really a justification. I have one win this season and precious few podium places and I am bang on certain to relegate and yet I've kept on commenting despite also being in the last 12 months of a PhD. The fact that others who are being more successful than my team and probably have more time available can't manage that is just disrespectful.

It has never been good. People tend to focus on their own divisions. There are very few PCT/CT managers who comment on PT threads and vice-versa. I don't know if there is a way to fix that but it isn't a new problem.

True that, it works like that in all divisions. Honestly i am so much into MG that it seems unreal for me to not follow all divisions and have info about all races and riders across divisions to improve my managerial knowledge and relations with other managers, but not everybody has so much time ofc. At least saying thank you for the report should be possible for everybody once/twice per race.

It should help though if a PCT band is indeed coming for PT teams.
Mixing up the divisions is good for communication through the divisions. |

Ratiy moves up one more spot, as my final sprinter leaves the race... I don't have anyone interesting for the final TT, but I hope Ratiy can do decently. Without his crash I guess he could've been top 20 - not that it makes much of a difference.
Epic performance from Alarcon yet again. He is clearly the most overperforming rider of the entire season. It's really cool that the wildcard team manages 2 riders in the top 10, although I guess Keizer will take one of them. Kritskiy can probably climb another 2 spots, but besides that I guess nothing major will happen.

In terms of the "keep active" thing, I have to agree with SN. It's not good enough to just randomly pop up, and comment. We have to be fairly consistent. And that doesn't mean that we have to get online everyday (which I do, because I love to stay in touch with the game), but if you get online once a week and post a comment on each stage/race, then it would still be more than 5/19 races I think. I guess it is OK to comment back on a race/stage, that finished a couple of days ago. I don't mind atleast.
To the mingle with CT/PTC level, I do that from time to time, but I actually try to stay out of the discussion because I think it's up to the managers involved to keep the thread active. I could easily post more, as I check almost every stage ridden. I don't care if the race is HC, WT, C1 or whatever. I tend to read then anyway. Not as carefully as the PT races obviously, but a the very least I check the results of all races.
One way, for me to make it work, is to loan out a lot of riders, so I am interested in the other divisions. But with the loan cap, it's difficult to loan out enough riders to keep interested in the races. The idea about PT teams riding a few HC or C1 races I find very appealing, as I would clearly follow my team there, even if it doesn't add anything to the rankings. It would be a great way to test some constallations for the future.
I would love, btw, if the race planner would be split in two, so you can change your race calender for riders in case you find some constallations that doesn't work or some that works great. If you find a way to setup a sprint train for instance, it sucks to look at the race planner and see that it was the only time the entire season, you actually put those riders together.
That would also mean that the managers will have to stay active, because they need to investigate on what happens in the early stage of the season, because they need to change things for the latter part. It probably won't make an impact on how much people post inhere, but it would be very easy to find out which managers to cut for next season, very early on, so we have an idea as to how many managers we need to find, or how many races to scrap.

My activity level has definitely gone down. I don't want to apologize for that, because that's just the evolvement of things for me. I really like the Man-Game and I read and appreciate every ProTour report written, and realize the amount of work that it is, as I have been doing it a little bit myself.
I have always tried to keep my HQ Thread active, and I have done so in a rather satisfying way for a lot of seasons, but felt like I was one of the few, which may have hampered my interest in keeping on doing so.
I have though about my future in the game. Once I really enjoyed putting in top 10 results achieved by my riders after every stage, but I just do it sporadically at the end of the season, because I still want my team thread to be up-to-date.
Maybe my interest in the game has deteriorated, but I won't by any means like to see the game come to a halt because of inactive managers. It's a really cool thing that's going on with this game, and with all the hungry managers waiting to even get a team I will be contemplating my continuation, also because my time to stay active is limited compared to the good old days.
As mentioned though, I really appreciate the big effort put in especially by guys like SN and roturn, but also the very active participants like SotD and Oleg.
Keep up the good work, and I'm sure even the less active managers share my appreciation for the hard work!

I really hope Alarcon comes down to earth soon... Gives me bad memories from PCT :-p
I agree with poeple that it is sad so many managers are inactive, it is the way of the game however. People loose interest. I just hope that those that have lost it will tell instead of coming in once in a while... I would rather have active guys

I don't see a problem with not following other divisions closely. I used to follow the PT when I was in the CT and then the CT when I was promoted, but ever since the CT has been split into two divisions, I've found it a bit more complicated to follow things in the other division so I'm just happy to do the best I can with the division I'm in.
Hopefully I won't be relegated any time soon
And I think the explanation of the PT managers being less active is that most of them are the oldest managers in the game and with time people got bored.

Spoiler Yeah, this is a big factor for sure and not only because of getting bored, but because with time people have actually important things to do.
I know that very well, being probably near the top of oldest MG members list.
