Good performance from Duarte there!
Bosisio at last the best placed Vespa rider. In hindsight, should have sent Ginanni here as hill stat was far more important than mountain stat here until a few days ago. Don't remember any of the stages being classified hilly in the profiles though.
There is only one "hilly" stage, but you can tell that some of the flat stages would turn out that way imo. The long stages (220km or so), and the ones with uphill sprintings are often very good for the classic riders.
The last couple of stages should be off target for the classic riders unfortunately. I would've loved to see another stagewin, but 2 stagewins and still 2 very good overall positions is very very nice for my team :-)

Gerdemann really hit the limit on that stage. Performing as expected, so won't complain about it.
Devolder's still up there which is also fine. No time lost, no time gained.
All those weird attacks from Pecharroman are quite weird, but if actually ends up winning something, I'd be quite pleased...

Oh really nice with Marzano only 10 seconds from 6th place. Practically everyone around him is better TT riders so he have to get more time in the mountains.

Good ride by Keinath, seems like Top 20 is just about sealed now. Would still like get an individual stage win.

Aww that sucked. Castaño losing way too much time here. He should've been in that group infront of him. Also Ardila not where he should've been...
Castaño holds onto the vital place, but it's way too close now. Hopefully the next stage will bring no crashes or time gaps.
But 2 very tough mountain stages to go, and a TT...
Castaño is very likely to lose 1 minute or more pr. stage to these riders:
Sergio Luis Henao Montoya
Marco Marzano
Domenico Pozzovivo
Beñat Intxausti
Then he should hopefully be a stronger TT'er than Henao Montoya and Marco Marzano, but he will definately lose time on Intxausti on every single stage from now on, and probably also lose time on Pozzovivo in the TT...
Ardila can hopefully take a good jump ahead of Gerdemann, so he will end up in 13th place...
Really looking forward to the last stages, but i'm very nervous for Castaño. Had he not lost 1 minute on everyone else on this stage, then I would've actually believed that top 6 was possible. Now it seems that 9th is the most realistic bid.

How about if mrlol doesn't return, Cunego decides to retire? Would make the Giro a hell of a lot more exciting? |

Perhaps the eternal question with Cunego is whether in the man game he was ever good enough to win the Tour repeatedly!
As for the Giro, its certainly not over yet stage 19 and 20 are really tough ones and unfortunate accidents at the wrong time could prove a disaster for any number of riders including Cunego! |

Agreed. The reports have all been enjoyable reads - would be great if there was some drama in the last few key stages to derail the Cunego parade. |

I do really hope that one season, before his stats start to decline, the manager of Cunego (whoever that may end up being, should mrlol not return) is brave enough to give him a shot at the Tour

Agreed SN. Would be wonderful to see if he had the strenght to do that win. I assume he would be good enough, if that young french/basque guy isn't maxed out after this season...
On another note, Anthony Lavoine managed to win a sprint. What a sprint to win :-)
Luckily this stage went exactly as I hoped. No drama at all, and some riders of non-top teams performed well, so not too many points lost here...
I'm really eager to see the PT GC after the Giro. I have no idea where my team is at. It has been one huge mixture of succes and utter failure, so I'm probably around 7th or 8th. But that said I have my, hopefully, two best races yet to be raced...

Dissapointing to see Ascani lead in the second group....Still another day in the break for Vespa should keep the sponsors happy - especially considering the size of the budget the team were given this year. |

Who are we talking about it here?
Anyway nice result by Stenersen, eventhough 2nd was also the closest I came to an individual stage win last season. It's points in the bank at least.

Sicard
Good ride by Van Emden in that last stage. If Van Huffel and van der Hugenhaben hang on to their top 20 places, it will a great result for us

Theres no chance of Sicard maxing out this season. He'll get better sure, but you cant max out as a rider in the continental tour.
And Ill update the PT rankings when I get the chance, hopefully to allow me to post them soon after the Giro ends, we'll see

Damn. Seems i'm right about Castaño ending up in 9th... I had hoped he could hold off Henao Montoya, but already behind him and Pozzo with still one mountain stage to go... Hopefully Marzano won't go past him, but Inxausti will prolly...
Ardila went up that one place I assumed he would also. 7th and 13th would be amazing, but almost impossible...

Happy you say?!
Over the moon!!
What a brilliant way to finish this Giro. Damn Castaño has been outperforming his ways. This is something I could've expected last season during the Vuelta, but the Giro?!?
Wow!!! 4th now, and probably losing a spot in the TT to Pozzovivo, perhaps also on Devolder, but 6th is amazing aswell! Also Ardila in 13th to make this an utter succes!

I saw Ardila go back for drinks as well going up the Gavia. Even so Castano must have been on a top top day there and also must have a reasonable amount of energy left.
It was probably one of the most interesting stages of this Giro and an sensational attack.
The final stage and results I will post later around 3.30 ish UK time. |

Will look forward for that a lot. On the prologue Castaño was on the same time as Pozzovivo and Devolder. If he can copy that performance then he is on 4th GC. That would be amazing!
