Ian, I have got a lot of respect for you! The story was just wonderful, beautiful and of course also heartbreaking. You did something special here.
Some may say, it is just cycling, but it was so much more. You were able to connect a successful career with a way of life, that could affect everyone on this planet.
Sometimes everything seems so perfect and the other day it just turns into hell.
Thanks for this piece of art |

I saw this coming... Kinda at least.
Beautiful end(well, not for Henry, but just story-wise) to the story though and Batista is absolutely right!

I totally agree with Batista, what a great story this was! Congratulation Ian, i really hopes that you're going to come back with something special, as always, but this was something really close to perfection, at least from my view.

A bittersweet ending to a wonderful, unique story, which has brought much success but lately, there's a whole lot of loss to be felt. Still, it has a beautiful endnote to it with the perspective of joy in the future. I'm sure Henry will be competitive soon again and that his children will bring him back the his joie de vivre that he thought he has lost with Becca.
Congratulations and much respect to you Ian. It has been a truly great run and a pleasure to follow it alongside you.

Eventhough it didn't even reach sixty pages (at least not yet), it's a real classic. I'm not sure what to say, just that this could easily be the best story i've seen so far, and i hope to see you back with a new story soon.

As much as I hate this to end, this was probably the best way to end this story. It really felt right to end it here, where I didn't have that feeling in your previous stories. Kudos for another great read, although I wasn't always commenting
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Great story, probably one of the best (and few) I've ever followed, it's a shame it is over so soon, unless you in some way since you attend to continue yet, Henry is after all still "young"

I'd like to thank you all for your great comments and support. I'm very happy you all seem to accept the end as it is. I know it's a bit early, but it felt about right for me.
Time to leave Henry alone in his grief, I reckon. The young, fiery World Champion and Tour de France winner has long gone and one only one season he had to grow up too fast. Getting married, having kids, losing his life long friend and soul mate. He was no longer the Henry Vergnaud we once saw conquering the cycling world.
I will get started on sequel to my Tour de France story with Andy Schleck later. I wanted to start it up soon but I decided to let it rest for a while, let this story sink in. So expect that up in about a month or so.
Thank you all for your support throughout this entire story. It has been an amazing experience on my part. Bye! |
