Shame to lose the race lead but Phinney is riding immense anyway really happy to be within 7 seconds of Pluckin at this stage and the team is doing a fantastic job so happy all round hopefully one more good stage in Phinney and a top result here |

But ouch, that was disappointing from Guldhammer. He really should have been sprinting for the stage win there, which would also have given him a chance at a top 5 overall, having 1'30 down to Yates, and then more than two minutes to Herklotz, as well as 50 seconds and more to Lecuisinier.
Now instead he's chasing Yates and in danger of being overtaken by Herklotz, with also in danger of Tenorio and maybe even Wellens climbing past him on the final mountain stage. But we shall see, hopefully he can do better in the mountains now that he missed out on his best terrain.
Also congratulations on the surprising stage win, jph27! If Yates can do such stuff this season, you should be safe from relegation with absolutely no problems 
And Pluchkin looks to be set for a great race now. Imagine if he wins the final stage, he's likely to bring home all three classifications and some big points for Nemiroff. |

Awaiting evidence that my team are really in the race  17th and 23rd is alright, but hard to take seeing Yates everywhere and Keinath nowhere. Can I at least blame any of the crashes Aquarius?
I fear the hill stages may have favoured the mountain riders more than hill stages perhaps should - can only hope for the same in Schleck races (), but is a shame from the race design point of view.

Keinath is important enough to report a crash of him, so he hasn't crashed.
Tbf, there are no puncheurs in the race, so Phinney is basically the best puncheur in the race, and most of the climbers are in 74-77 range of HIL stat

I wonder why Madrazo is so weak in these hilly stages compared to guys with similar hilly stats. I guess it's his rather mediocre flat stat.
We need a miracle to win this now. But a podium is still very likely.

Yates is having an incredible race - I was hoping for a top 15 in a best case scenario, so being 6th heading into the final stage with a stage win is beyond my wildest dreams.
I guess my focus on signing riders with good RES and ACC is paying off with him, hopefully it carries on with Monsalve in other races |

Firstly, sorry for arriving so late to the party.
Secondly, what a rollercoaster race! Pretty hectic stages with crashes and daily form being so volatile from stage to stage. We haven't been on the lucky side of this, but I have to admit this is pretty interesting stuff. Much due to the quality of the reports!
But I have to feel for Jayco. So much invested in this race, being let down by all these crashes. A bad gamble also for us with a dedicated TTT team placing all eggs on Machado's basket didn't turn out so well. At least he has Dekker for company in their crash and recovery tale.
Up front a very entertaining dispute. Phinney should really have known better in this last stage. That sprint may prove costly.

And another miserable performance. Moreover, I´ve just noticed Faiers had to suffer an injury during stage 3.
Well, with poorly performing Tenorio, injured his luxury domestique Faiers, abandoned hot prospect Latour, I can´t simply consider this race as happy and successful one.

Seems like the risk paid off here, Pluchkin more than good enough to take back all time lost in the TTT, also with huge help from Scarponi who will sadly miss out on a top 30 GC finish as he lost time on stage 2 which is somewhat of a shame. That little bit of shame is quickly forgotten though when seeing how dominant Pluchkin can be, and without any drama on the final stage, knock on wood, this will be a massive result towards trying to avoid relegation!
It could all become even better if Nepomnyachsniy would decide to do something in Paris - Nice too now, making me not regret sending him there instead of here to aid in the TTT.
Schleck better be ready for Pluchkin

Pluchkin proves he's the strongest here with that dominant win, congratulations, fjhoekie!
Another disappointing stage from Guldhammer, as I had hoped he would be able to defend his GC place against Herklotz and go past Yates. Still, 9th is goal accomplished seeing what we hoped for pre-race, but seeing how well the race started with the first hilly stage, I definitely hoped for more.
And thank you for the report, Aguarius97. Only a minor thing, I think it would be nice to read who took the mountain points on the penultimate climb, especially as Van der Velde had a shot at the KoM jersey. Speaking of which, some weird racing from him on the first categorized climb, not going for the points
On a final note, Holst Enger looks to have climbed well, coming home well ahead of the gruppetto. Hopefully that's a good sign for the final stage, and he has the extra energy needed to fight for a stage podium again. |

Another inactive stage for us. Wellens loosing some GC places.
But Still decent result for him had some hopes for Top 10 but No.
Yates really impressive. Pluchkin aswell, congrats!
Was hoping to see breakaway from either Ludvigsson or Cort Nielsen...
Atleast Paris-Nice have starter better with Sweecks in the break on the first stage in instead Ahlstrand huge dissapointing. |

Boom did try but dropped in KoM even. But did his best.
Dekker 15th in GC is okay, in especially with 2 crashes. Could have been much worse.
Not a race I get a lot from but at least something.
Hopefully last stage sees a sprint and no breakaway and if Groenewegen makes a podium, this would be at least a bit more than nothing. |

@ember Costagli was first ahead of Van der Velde and Didier, and then the riders who attacked from the bunch in the final part of the climb (Ignatenko, Goss and Vasyliv)

Another cracking stage. Congrats Pluchking and Nemiroff on a dominant victory.
Nice to see Machado end on a high note even though in the end, his loss of 6 min because of the crash impairs what could have been a top5 performance.

Woohoo, a Vesuvio rider (Goos) attacked finally. Keinath anonymous as ever, but that's to be expected given the rest of the race.
Pluchkin has really done what he has needed to do here for his team. It's nice to see him being given a chance in a one week race again, as a reminder to the rest for just how good he is.
