MARDI GRAS BENEFIT - STAGE 6
Well, I am very excited about today! I am standing right against the fence here with one of the team doctors at the start. We have Ramiro French in his sprinting jersey along with the leader of the race in view.

Here early in the race all of Walmart is in front, do they have something in store for today?

A break of 8 riders forms today, none of them in real contention to win the race. They have a 3:00 advantage with 70km left. During this time, BP Cycling is out front of the group trying to protect their leader.

Here in the group, it looks like if Ramiro or Adam make a move, the leader of the race will be ready to counter attack at any moment. The break is up 2:00 with 45km left.

Looks like 40 riders either don't care about the result, or are actually having a hard time today which is hard to believe. These 24 riders (none from Sunkist) do not seem to care.

28 riders launch an attack away from the main group with 20km left chasing in on the break which has a 1:25 lead. All of the main contenders are in this group!

Adam Casey launches an attack in hopes of surprising the bunch, some other riders follow closely, but many, including the leader, do not attack because they are sure that it won't work.

The pouring rains and the sharp turns means bad business. But not yet this race has their been a massive crash. It was bittersweet when we saw that a huge crash happened. Most contenders were not involved. but Race leader Ryan Leonard has crashed, and Griffin, Lawson, Brady & McLaughlin have all unfortunately crashed from Sunkist, just 6km from finish.

Coming to the finish line, there was one rider from the break, who was not in contention overall, launched an attack and stayed away for the stage win, but who cares at this point, the first group was sprinting their asses off in order to win the race. What would happen though, as I didn't get a good look at who was in this group.

Looks like the weekly newspaper is coming out tomorrow!
I am thrilled with the result in our first race, but I will admit, it is going to feel weird with all new riders next week. It is like the season opener all over again!
Our best rider will be in action, I am much excited to see his sprinting in action. The pre-race report is coming up a little later on!
The plane just landed back here in Pennsylvania! I will see you later

Thanks sutty, glad to see someone reading this, keeps me motivated to keep going!
I had more people follow my last failed story than this one, maybe because they don't have faith in me

Hey guys, I am here to give you the summary of January. Nothing much except the first race of the year, so here are the awards:
RIDER OF THE MONTH - Bull Sullivan (Phillips Cycling) - Bill held the leaders jersey the first 2 days of the Mardi Gras Benefit Race, and he also ended up with it on the last stage, as he won when it mattered the most! He also won the first stage of the Mardi Gras Benefit Race.
ALL ROUNDER OF THE MONTH - Ramiro French (Team Sunkist) - Ramiro won the mountain jersey at the Mardi Gras race, and finished runner up in the points classification, He had the points jersey 4 days, and the mountain jersey every day except once, but only wore it once because he had the points jersey on. To top all of that, he brought home a stage win from a break and also finished 4th overall in the Mardi Gras race!
TEAM OF THE MONTH - Team Sunkist - Sunkist won the team classification at the Mardi Gras race on the last day, and also finished 2 riders in the top 10 of the race. They won the mountain jersey, and finished 2nd in the points jersey, with a stage win. They are leading the USACL standings also. (Note: No team has ever won the USACL team of the year after leading going into February.)
USACL RIDER STANDINGS
| POSITION | NAME | TEAM | POINTS | | 1 | Bill Sullivan | Phillips Cycling | 106 | | 2 | Dale Swanson | Lamborghini Cycling Team | 82 | | 3 | Ryan Eastman | Renfe Cycling | 76 | | 4 | Ramiro French | Team Sunkist | 67 | | 5 | Jorge Clark | Giant Cycling | 58 | | 6 | Adam Casey | Team Sunkist | 43 | | 7 | Drew Stanley | Hummel Cycling Team | 32 | | 8 | Dale Parker | Citigroup - Cannondale Cycling | 26 | | 9 | Otis Pierce | Renfe Cycling | 18 | | 10 | Ryan Leonard | BP Cycling Team | 9 |
Here is the schedule I have put together for our team this February! Click on it too see which riders are riding where!

WEST BRANCH CHALLENGE PREVIEW
February 3-8
This race is a 100% flat race over the midlands of America! We will start in West Branch, Michigan and end in West Branch, Iowa! Roosevelt should have a great shot at winning this race due to the flatness.

Here are the elevations of each stage:
Well, thats all from me! I can't wait to see all new riders and our team captain in action!

Sure! Download PCM 2013 and you will get them
@MRE- I was thinking about you! I didn't know what "wing" of Michigan you lived in, I personally like the shape of the other side better
But nice to know we will pass by your house, I will make that "special" during the stage check back after the stage!

Cool, I'm a little over to the left still by Grand Rapids. I would tell you the town name but I don't want you all trying to find me.
