Launch games lineup is so weak, that i am rather waiting a year maybe, for prices to drop and actual games to be developed. after that PS4 is sure bet, as only advantage of X-box is kinect and i dont need that.

I don't really see any reasons for buying it straight away either. FIFA14 and GTA V is on PS3. See you, PS4, when the next GTA is released  |

I play Playstation mainly for the trophies and I already completed GTA... PS4 is bought and I have Madden 25, NBA 2K14, and RESOGUN all updating now!

almost 1700 trophies says enough, I never really go for trophies, mostly because many games have trophies which require to go online. I HATE ONLINE and my friend that has a ps3 doesn't have many of the same games I have (only F1 2011) and then his PS3 broke (error code: 8002F165 ) so I brought some of his games but I also don't have any friends anymore  (except jseadog1 but we don't have same games)
edit: not being a mainstream gamer has it's downsides

I don't give a fuck about trophies.
Except for one case: Modern Warfare 2 Spec Ops in local Coop.
Veteran difficulty.
We started the first mission the day after the game was released.
We finished the last mission the weekend before Black Ops was launched.

technically, this is next gen news, so here you go.
Tomorrow, I will be buying a PlayStation Vita! I wanted a new portable console, and I figured I'd try out the Vita before I get the 3DS and PS4, which I will hopefully get this December.
Also, i don't have a smartphone, so I figure a Vita is capable enough with quick browsing and such if need be.
BUT GAMES. Phones can't play games like a console can, even with the technology.

All I saw, was the headphone jack in the actual Dualshock 4 and Im honestly almost sold on it now haha!
Im pretty sure Xbox has that, but I dont think I can really leave Playstation and I know Uncharted is probably the only exclusive I really care about. Gran Turismo is awesome, but I think Forza is also good enough that having either would be alright.
As far as getting a console though, as much as I want one now, I think its best to wait a while until the price goes down, and maybe they will eventually come out with "slim" ones or ones with more storage than the launch specs, which would make the wait worth it. Plus it will give time to iron out some bugs that the consoles have.

Speakign of Next Gen. I was just on Amazon and clicked on Fifa 14, and it said it was being released on... PS2. But EA said the Wii U wasn't strong enough. But it was released on PS2. Okay then.
The PS2 is a fricking beast. That means that Fifa this year was on 3 generations of 1 kind of console. Woah.

only Melee was a launch title  (which in my opionon just sucks)
it took 3 years for SSB to be released on the N64
it took 2 years for Brawl to be released on the Wii
it will take 2 years for SSB4 to be released on the Wii U. |

Being a fan of the PSP, I had to get the Vita when it launched. Can't say I've used it much since then, though.
I mainly used my PSP as entertainment on long travels / holidays, but that job has been taken over by tablets. In theory, the Vita should do games better, but when a huge title such as Madden NFL 25 isn't even released for Vita (but is available on both Android and iOS...), it's difficult to find a purpose of the console.
It's said that the Vita will be a great 'add-on' tp the PS4, kinda like that Wii U GamePad, but I'll have to see that before I believe it. Cross-console compatibility / remote play was also promised between PS3/Vita which is one of the reasons I bought it, but I've never used it, because it's simply not available on 99 % of the games.

I think Sony realised they made a mistake with letting the Vita down as much as the PSP.
Even they said "We won't make the same mistake twice" XD
But they are now stepping up reaching out to the teams plus asking the people what they want for the Vita.
I mean Football Manager for PS Vita with Crossplay ok just the "Classic" version but better than a 2D engine and much less possibilites than at the PC.
Also a lot of support now for teams interested in releasing PS Vita versions of console/PC games.
Without the support of Sony this wouldn't have been even possible as SI don't wanted to put PC staff to a Vita version.
So a Sony team looks after that.
I would definately buy a PS Vita but not now.
Also I haven't got a next-gen console now as I don't see the reason why buying a new console with so less start titles that are really interesting.
Let's take Forza Motorsport 5.
Actually let's take Forza Motorsport as a whole series.
1st attempt on the XBOX was great.
Forza Motorsport 2 on the XBOX 360 was a quick "next-gen" game even though it looked a bit better, but the content was less.
Forza Motorsport 3 and 4 stepped definately up from the 2nd game as the developers had time to make content plus being used to the XBOX 360.
Forza Motorsport 5 the same stuff like 2.
Looks hardly much better than the previous on the "old" gen version and with even less content. Ok it has Spa and Bathurst but in general less content than Forza 4.
Also how.. I don't know which word would be fitting it so I am a bit speechless.. they downsized the graphics from the E3 version to now is just ridicilous.
3D spectators? Gone just those cardboard 2D spectators.
Slight cockpit motion blur at high speeds, also gone probably because it was too hard on the engine/console.
Less details, yes.
But I guess MS said they had to deliver something for the launch.
So I wait for a year to see if they (Sony with PS Vita and PS4 and Microsoft with XBOX One) really deliver what they promised.

I am pretty sure that E3 version was running on PC for marketing purposes and console cant handle it.

So I heard that basically you can now record video from PS4 without a capture card?
Anyone want to tell me how this works so I can spam MLB videos now and TDF videos when it comes out?

the ps4 controller has a button labeled share, which connects to twitch or ustream. it is very easy to use.
