I sent a pm to crommy stating roughly this, and i will say for you all. He blocked my steal for Marcus Burghardt and in doing so i think he will come in vastly over budget, and if it is shown that that is the case i feel that Burghardt should be handed over to me.
Here is what i believe to be his transfer activity:
-1500k wages for Danielson after successful steal
-700k Burghardt's new wages after blocking my steal
-420k Rogers' new wages after blocking steal
-358k wages for Levi after making him safe
-120k wages for Astarloa
-120k wages for Celestino
-320k wages for Zabriskie after having been bought
-130k fee paid for Zabriskie
-220k wages for free agent Kankovsky
-450k wages for free agent Botero
-800k wages for 16 domestiques
+250k for selling Nuyens
when you total these sums up he would have spent roughly 4,888,000 million Euros, if my math is correct. Now i don't know what his budget was, but i could make a reasonable guess that it wasn't this much. If i am right and he is vastly over budget, my steal should be a successful attempt and Burghardt should be handed over to me. Now i know this is a game, but it doesn't appear as if he even considered his budget.

I will admit that i don't know what his sponsers may have promised him on paying riders salary and if that is the case why he can afford it then i am sorry.

I will hazard a guess that as an American team, only half of Danielson's wage will be paid for, leaving 750k extra. Thats about 4.1 million, so I believe Wildcat may be okay. Why he'd want to pay Rogers 420k though I dont know.
Maybe only half of Zabriskie's wage is paid for him too?

Isnt here a deadline for the PM bids - I would imagine all intersted parties should have made their bids now...

Ive done some thinking and here is my evalutation of the transfer windows
1. due to large budget the money difference between safe riders and riders on old salaries is very large. This need to change next off season.
2. The steal rule isnt a lot of fun. The problem is the trade-escape, like i pulled a few times, is quite unfilfilling for both stealer and stealee. And it also relies heavily on timing, which is bad news for people not on a lot.
my suggestion: Make every bid count as 1 steam attempt, and perhaps give 3-4 steal attempts instead. Make it possible to steal traded riders, perhaps.
this should calm down a lot next season, as there will be less money in play, since so many riders will have big salaries.
3. The bidding
Was a whole lot of fun, I enjoyed logging on and seeing where my target riders was going pricewise. It was a lot of fun planning bids, and so forth
4. the ending
Was not a lot of fun. i suggest that next time we do ½ the transfer window with 48 hour bids, then gradually reduce the cooldown of new bids. This will hopefully give more fair results in the end.
5. there is no 5.

I got to agree that we got too much money and we can pay riders too much... the difference between a 78 climber that I have and rasmussen (he was sold for 1 million rigth??) with 82 climbing is only 4 in stats but 950 000 in money... this is not rigth....

It will balance out eventually, since the market will find a new balance with all the new money in it. the problem was that the wages for exisiting rides was too small for the money we had.
It wont be next year, since all the free agents will ahve to be paid again, and some of the released since their wages was too high! I.E. rasmussen, who is payed 1 mio, but won't be next year, sinc im sure the sponsors wont pay half next year!

Plus PT managers may get a nasty little surprise when the rider roles are filled out

yeah, but do remember to make it possible for us to field riders in all races.
Also Im not sure you should make "surprises" as the riders role is factored in to his bid. Ie. I pay Savoldelli captain wages, but I expect him to ride as a lieutenant. If he counts as a leader ill feel extremely cheated!
Also Sporting mentioned earlier that you would look more at the rider, and less at the wages, when assigned roles.
and thirdly, if you get too "surprisey" you wreck peoples chances of planning, thus ruining a lot of the fun

Im not a big fan of these surprises either, if its nasty then people are only going to not like it - and perhaps lose interest.

But they shouldn't surprise us too much, I suppose.
Of course Di Luca will be captain, as will Schumacher, Rebellin a.s.o.
If you've taken in a top rider you have to expect his race points to be low. |

Oh I do. I have 4-5 racers I believe should be treated as
captains (1 tour, few days): Vino, Schumacher, perhaps Menchov and then theres the "category 2 captains (1 tour , a little more days), Rasmussen, Simoni...
Then theres the helper categorys for riders like Nozal and Savoldelli, who should ride more tours, more days...
But I have faith in Crommy making it fair - he has done well so far!

I wish I knew too. He was going to cost a lot of money (for southaustralia.com standards), but he would've been awesome in the CT. Well, I hope wildcat makes good use of him, although he's only really useful for TT wins in the PT.

Stop being concerned with my team and be concerned with yours. I calculated my budget, and it was close, but it was under. |

But I will have to be content with the excellent team I have.

I finished at around 750k, so there should be money left for next transfer season (or to resign rasmussen).
I wonder if Basso and all the other Puetoguys will be reintroduced as free agents in the next off season?
