A new world record that: From mostly unknown to GC leader of one of the most prestigious teams in cycling in 6 months.

I was wondering where you went. Welcome back! Can we prepare you a steak of disbelief, or maybe a beef made out of innocence?
Careful that steak of disbelief might leave traces of Clenbuterol in your blood.

Does this mean that ASO will bring the first long ITT back?
*dances*
I think he'll be cleared, though. He'll receive as much support as possible from the Spanish institutions, have no doubt about it. |

It's a logical deduction, as he explained in the press conference. The meat came from Spain as a "one-off meal" -i.e., not part of their usual diet, and was eaten precisely on that day - the one prior to the positive - by Contador and a few other co-equipiers -none of which was tested the day after |

"Also Vinokourov claimed the bad quality of this meal"
Anyone else find it hilarious that he's using Vino as a witness?

It would be such a shame if he ended up getting banned because I was really looking forward to the battle between Alberto and Andy next year.

yep, now he just needs a farmer in Spain prepared to go to jail for him. I'm sure at least one could be bought.

He reffers to the meal of the hotel.
The one what eat Contador (and Dani Navarro among others) was cooked in the bus, and that is the hilarious thing: Vino complains about why Contador eat good meat and he not.

In any case, today cycling has lost all credibility he had (and he had a little).

Well there's still a few teams I trust. Team Type 1, Bbox, and Pegasus.
Its just taken a massive hit.

Very good read. Just added it to my favourites to read again later. Anyone know whether it can survive at low temperatures? May give my chemist grandfather a call |

Looking over the links in this thread (thanks those who linked to the articles) I'm leaning towards the contamination explanation, of course science isn't my strong point, so what do I know? |

Jeeze, so many people here ready to jump at the throat of Contador -throw insults and assuming he's guilty. Reminds me of a lynching mob. I really hope you never find yourselves in a similar situation and at least enjoy the benefit of the doubt.

I'll remember this when I ask my friends to bring me meat from Spain. |
