 Zuri Metzgete (C2) - Preview
Welcome to Switzerland for the final C2 race of the season, Zuri Metzgete! Euskadi's Serrano won here last year, with Euskotren's Wackermann winning the two editions before that. The first winner of this race was Danilo Di Luca back in 2007. Let's have a look at the profile.
Still hilly! It's the last race of the season for the riders, and for some of the riders perhaps the last race in their career. So let's make sure to compensate with a large list of favourites.
| MM | Hill | Sta | Res | Spr | Acc | Sagan | 75 | 79 | 72 | 68 | 69 | 70 | Turgis | 73 | 79 | 76 | 78 | 70 | 77 | Eriksson | 73 | 79 | 78 | 74 | 65 | 76 | Lagane | 74 | 78 | 70 | 71 | 76 | 77 | Stocek | 73 | 78 | 75 | 70 | 70 | 75 | Lafay | 76 | 77 | 72 | 72 | 65 | 74 | Hoelgaard | 76 | 77 | 72 | 72 | 68 | 74 | Gladysh | 74 | 77 | 73 | 72 | 71 | 76 | Dieteren | 74 | 77 | 75 | 70 | 63 | 66 | Vincent | 74 | 77 | 79 | 72 | 67 | 71 | Montenegro | 74 | 77 | 71 | 73 | 64 | 74 | Dyrnes | 74 | 77 | 72 | 72 | 64 | 76 | Carr | 74 | 77 | 74 | 71 | 59 | 72 | Mayer | 73 | 77 | 65 | 72 | 72 | 77 | Kanepejs | 72 | 77 | 72 | 71 | 62 | 71 | Senyenov | 70 | 77 | 68 | 73 | 68 | 73 | Masnada | 77 | 76 | 76 | 75 | 63 | 73 | Gall | 77 | 76 | 70 | 71 | 61 | 72 | Schultz | 76 | 76 | 74 | 80 | 58 | 71 | Rota | 74 | 76 | 76 | 74 | 67 | 71 | Gabburo | 72 | 76 | 73 | 75 | 72 | 76 | Korosec | 72 | 75 | 74 | 71 | 75 | 78 | Olei | 70 | 74 | 73 | 71 | 75 | 75 |
5 puncheurs with 78 or more in punchiness. Sagan stands out because of his palmares and general skillset, with Turgis and definitely Lagan among those you don't want to go to the finish line with because of their sprint and acceleration. To be fair, Stocek is also far from slow, and Eriksson will hope to compensate with his good physical capabilities.
A lot of 77 and 76 puncheurs then, with some of the more hybrid climbers/puncheurs being Lafay, Hoelgaard, Masnada, Gall and Schultz. On the other hand, some other good sprinters are Gabburo, Korosec, Olei and Gladysh.
Many more on the list of 77 and 76 puncheurs. Not on the list here, but decent sprinters, are Kelly, Consonni and Molano. Will they get a chance to sprint, even though the race profile might look too hard? We'll find out tomorrow! Good luck to all in the final one!

Such a long course STA going to be all-important so Erikkson and Vincent for me
I've brought Rota (knowing Moscon was going Emeila) as the leader hoping the A.I sees it that way with his 76 ST could easily top 5 this
thanks for the preview abhi |

Almost certainly too long a race for Sagan to be a big factor, but would be amazing to see his run of form continue and for him to end the season on a bang. Considering he's not getting any younger, it may well be his last chance to grab a win!

Lets send the Pirates out on a high! Although it'll probably be a classic Pirates race, fundamentally dissapointing.

This will be an interesting final race for us. The hills are probably our best discipline, so would be nice to get a good result to end of the season with |

Think we're going to be disappointed in this result and I might have to express some worry about Euskotren coming away with multiple top 5s - I hadn't even really looked at their chances of jumping up the standings.
Still, this should be a super race to end the CT schedule.

You should be more afraid of Euskadi as I don't think there's a realistic way we take 182 points in the last two races
Taking back our title would be enough. Stocke has an A team with him.
The team's favorite race! Let's end the season with a bang.

Congrats on the win Bjartne!
Quite a good finish for us with 3rd and 8th, a nice way to end the season!
@jt, how the hell do you manage to predict so well again and again and again?
Thanks for a great report KB!

That could not have been a more apt send off. Anonymous breakaway appearance, then just not quite strong enough to be a feature part of the race, and snagging a few points to keep things ticking along.
Fortunately there was no insanity and that means we'll be going up!
Cool race too. Length and difficulty really played in a way not seen on previous editions.

Not good enough considering who we had in the finale
Congrats Bjartne, thanks everyone for the season and KB for all the reporting.

That was a very enjoyable read to end the CT season, thanks kb And congrats Bjartne after what seems to have been a somewhat challenging season. Nice to end it on a high note, and Eriksson is a good rider to build around for the next few years

I refuse to take much credit for just picking the two guys with the highest ST
Good ride for Rota and good to see what he could have done if we didn't have Moscon leading this year
Top Report and thanks to everyone who did report this season! |

With not much at stake in general Eriksson is a cool winner. Bjartne clearly deserves to end the season on a high (like many others).

Congrats Bjartne! Decent end to the season for us, Sagan top 5 is really decent considering the length of the race. And nice to see Kajamini in the breakaway in his last race for us, he may not have contributed many points but without his loan we certainly couldn't have built the team we did.

Congrats to Bjartne! One of the results that you'll surely be proud of from the season - when your guys went for greatness they really delivered, just needed a bit more of that this season.
The Turtles started the season with a zero and ending with a zero - fitting really!
