Back again! Into the PCT. A little bit lucky but we are here nonetheless. Its going to be an exciting year and with Carlos Rodriguez as our big talent and some support riders getting better as well, we can focus all out on getting the riders needed to stay in the PCT division next season.
We hope you enjoy this HQ throughout the season and we can't wait to bring you as much entertainment and information as possible with how the team goes throughout the season!

Really glad you made it up for the sake of the Rodriguez project if nothing else - as well as Bennett adding promotion #4 to his leadership resume!
I was going to say something about how I'm jealous you're the team who the New Zealand government chose to sponsor, but actually on second thought I'm alright with Xero keeping our distance in the present moment
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Very happy to see you make it to PCT. As jandal said, it just gives flexibility to let your talents shine and not be crunched too hard, which is particularly important for you this year. Hope you can make it stick this time!

Can only voice the others. Great to see you in the PCT!
In terms of having Rodriguez there to save you, another year would have been good, but given his wage he can be somewhat easily loaned out and temporarily replaced I think within the loan cap. Bennett is still a pretty decent rider even here after two declines

Thanks guys! Really excited to be in the PCT and have a rider like Rodriguez with us.
Thanks Cunego59 for the inspiration of the renewals and availability.
Its that time of year where we get ready for transfers. In the past, the team has felt very nostalgic and renewed riders when we really shouldn't have. This season we had to make choices, especially so we were able to find the riders to make us competitive! That meant releasing 5 of our riders (some not by choice as they declined the wage offer). With C. Rodriguez improving once again and becoming the team leader that we knew he could be! G. Bennett with another decline but still extremely capable even if he is a team mate or leader in some of the races that may have a weaker field. L. E. Lemus Davila also hit with another decline. Losing quite a bit of ability from last season, however, he will still be an excellent team mate for our leaders.
With that news, we also had 8 riders leave the team (3 of which were loanees from another team). J. Svab, C. Scott and J. Yates were on our list of riders that we wanted to keep, however, they declined multiple offers we made and unfortunately we couldn't come to an agreement. A. Duchesne and E. A. Beltran were released as the management felt they could not contribute further to the squad in the higher division.
And that was our renewals. Lots of money saved and plenty of money to spend on riders in the PCT and 2025 as we attempt to make a competitive squad and survive in the PCT for the first tie. | Rider | Age | AVG | 2024 Wage | Change | Available | | C. Yarrell will be looking for a CT loan. | | FL | MO | MM | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | | C. I think a good strategy to streamline, now the challenges is getting good value for all the free cap. Good luck.

You just need to fill all the non-climber spots in the squad

Good to see you back up in PCT - interested to see how you navigate transfers nd build a team that can hopefully stay up. Is Rodriguez going to be maxing out with your team this season? Or is he going to make you some extra $$$ going to a PT team for the year?

Reasonable wage on Bennett, good work. Still should have something to give at age 34, hope he can show it for you. He'll always be Mr Xero but I love this chapter (not set on calling it final, I want him back when he's min wage ) of his career making himself an icon for another Kiwi team with taking you to the promotion and now hopefully establishing you at PCT level.
Love that jersey, maybe my favourite new one so far this year! Classy nod to the old argylle design, lovely colours and doesn't say New Zealand Government on the front anymore

Your climbing department already looks pretty good, especially with all the U25 points Rodriguez should get you. Now you 'just' need to strengthen the other terrains.
Also a really nice jersey which should stand out in any peloton!

Nice team to begin the second try in PCT, a succesful one I hope! Doubt we'll talk much, except if you'd like to offert Rodriguez to us, but I don't have much hope in that regard
Good luck for the transferts!

Interested to see how Rodriguez gets on in his final season before becoming maxed - should be a decent scorer already, and is on a wage that shouldn't be too difficult to build around. |

Thanks everyone! Rodriguez is one of those guys that even if you are tempted to sell for a good offer, I don't think it quite does justice to how good he will be in the future. He is one of those insane future stars to potentially win a GT.
We are extremely happy with the jersey. Hillis did a fantastic job!
Before transfers began, we had an idea on where we wanted to go, but one name stayed constant through all the changes. That man was Bryan Coquard.
One of the best sprinters in the MG, Yes he has declined slightly since his 3rd place in the PCT rankings last season, however I think he can still be excellent and finish up there again in the PCT rankings. At 33 years old and a wage of 580k, we definitely did have to spend to get him but if he is sent to the right races and can have a good leadout, he should be able to get us a great amount of points!

The build of our team is starting to take shape with transfers confirmed, FA bids almost finishing for ome strong riders. It is a very exciting transfer season as we head into out 2nd PCT year. Stay tuned as we continue to try and survive the PCT!
