Žalgiris is back for another year, ready to rumble.
Peter Sagan, Michal Kwiatkowski, Daniel Vesely, Armands Becis, Janis Dakteris, Markus Kopfauf and Mikhail Kochetkov have not renewed their contracts with the team, but it does not necessarily mean they will not be on the 2025 roster.
Renewals went about as expected, big rises for the obvious suspects, but some smaller ones for others. Probably a slight overpays across the board, but you gotta keep your young core intact.

Might leave the team if interest is there. Will not be available for anything under 1.5mil or equivalent value.
And of course, as always. Everyone is technically available for a mountain of cash

Definitely some interesting names on the availability list there, and not necessarily the Estonians
Interested in how you approach this transfer season, the base is there for a promotion push if you choose for sure. Suspect we'll see a lot of each other in the FA bidding, as said before I really like the regional focus!
Kmieliauskas should be a very strong rider this season, really looking forward to seeing how he will do and how you will build your team around him
I suspect he will be the time trialist to beat this year due to his U25 status. Partly a reason why I wouldn't mind selling Beniusis as to potentially not interfere with leader status in TT races

I try not to hold regional riders up for ransom, especially considering I will definitely have an Estonian on the roster anyways (shocking revelation), so there's definitely a chance for deals to be done.
Going for promotion is definitely possible, there are several paths to put the team in position to do so, but I am still unsure which way I want to go considering my number 1 priority is training Kmieliauskas next year and that is almost an impossibility if I push for promotion this year
A little appetizer before the storm. Couple youngins have joined the world renowned Žalgiris Academy.

Another mountain dom coming through our youth ranks (aka 50k). We are partial to Cv1 path as that will probably allow him to be a more useful domestique, as he will not be a contender to win races likely ever.
We have made some deals to acquire MORE POINTS (important).
First of all, we've said goodbye (for now) to Rojus Adomaitis, Kristaps Budenieks, Norman Vahtra and Gal Glivar

Our first big signing is an MG ledge. Even though aging puncheurs definitely do not have the best of reputation, Lutsenko is probably more than worth the gamble.

Several years after leaving our Academy, Beka is back home. Great for TTTs and as a support in cobbled races

After some changes with many more to come, squad is still already shaping up.
Some very nice signings, and the leader duo of Lutsenko and Kmieliauskas should be great.
I do question how much you wanted Kung
Well, sacrifices have to be made, and he has officially been a member of Zalgiris, so that's checked off the list
---
Couple more additions to the squad, but of course, we said goodbye to Stefan Kung already.

Could not acquire him last year, but sure did this time. There surely can be a 'better' way to statgain him, but this is by far the sweetest.
Aksel, even though fairly expensive, is cheaper than Adomaitis was and will be filling his role of stage race hunter. Had a decent season in PT last year, hoping he can replace Adomaitis' last year's points tally.

Quite an expensive fellow, but he will be worth it. I guess we are now a Fabian team?
Joining us as part of Dalby loan deal, Olesen will be a dom for Lasinis and Lutsenko.

One of the stranger late season oversights. We, however, are very happy to have him at 50k.
---
We are rocking a massive 25man lineup, which might cause some planning issues due to amount of unmaxed riders we have, but we'll find a way. Initially, might be the best lineup we've ever had in terms of points. Not sure if promotion is possible, but it is not out of realm of possibility, just need to have some luck, I think.
Will TT domination and Lutsenko be enough to aim for promotion? I'm not so sure yet, but at least I can finally cheer for the first Kmieliauskas (and thus former loanee) win!
