While we expected a difficult renewals period following our relegation and a number of our talents improving, we thought that the poor performances of last season would at least help cut the wages of a number of our high earners. Sadly this turned out not to be the case for many of our riders, who actually demanded to be paid more than they ever had in previous years. We now face a 1.6 million renewals fine - the sales of Mattia Cattaneo, Yonathan Monsalve and Jay McCarthy are expected to finance that - as well as having to wave goodbye to a number of riders who seemed oblivious to the fact they were utterly useless last season. Eugert Zhupa, Darshana Prasad and Michael Gogl were originally offered new contracts but demanded over twice what we were willing to pay, while we said goodbye to Marco Tizza, Hugo Nunes and Alexey Voloshin who were never part of our long term plans.
Pfff, fines are no big deal. You'll definitely make them back with sales, and because your roster is both so broad and deep for PCT, you'll have a lot of options to see how the market plays out to maximize your profits.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy
Format shamelessly stolen from the_hoyle - the more dots, the more likely a rider will be available for transfer. However, apart from Cattaneo and Monsalve, sales will dependent on signing adequate replacements.
Definitely some interesting riders for sale, but not really feasible on a CT budget... If our sponsors agree to broaden our focus region, we might still be talking...
Some incredibly interesting names available outside of the obvious ones, I feel like it should be incredibly easy for you to cover your fine and find your training money. We will definitely be in touch.
@viking: I'm glad to hear someone does, because after last season I can only picture them being served with a side of disappointment
@Fabianski: Nothing is impossible on a CT budget as far as I'm concerned - if I need to sell, I tend to just take whatever I can get rather than having a fixed price in mind
@whitejersey: I appreciate your confidence in my selling abilities look forward to hearing from you!
@valv: Sales are guaranteed, so do get in touch once the window opens
@quadsas: Well, he clearly learned that from your sales technique last season
@the_hoyle: Look forward to it! Remember striking the Pinot deal last time you were PCT, hopefully we can make something work again.
@ryant: You don't want to be signing Carthy anyway, he's from Lancashire - look forward to hearing from you with requests to sign my two best riders away
@knockout: You could always help by signing a TTer or two...
@bbl: Appreciate the optimism, but we both know I'll end up squandering my cap space on talents and selling riders for less than half their actual value
@redordead: It's fine, I'm sure that Cattaneo will cover it. After all, he's always been really helpful to the team, bar the whole relegation business...
Some very interesting names on that list - Obviously Zisis Soulious stands out the most to us - although it hurts that he didn't manage to level up as that means a year wasted. Atleast the added EXP makes it possible to loan him out to level up +2 fairly easily (if that's still allowed).
