 Tour de Langkawi
C2HC: 1/2-7/2, 7 stages total 952 km
Welcome to the 12th edition of Tour de Langkawi, amongst the longest running races in mangame races continually since 2008
Last season pre-race favourite Jaime Suaza (Compal-Merida now Team Europcar) won the race, as Europcar promoted he will not be here this season. 2nd last season Thibaut Pinot (GCN ProTeam) will be here again looking for a win this time and he will also be one of the top favourites, but back to that later.
Though the race is composed just as last season, with a short prologue and two high mountain stages, the profiles have changed significantly, with especially the third stage having a shorter but very steep mountain finish and also the 5th stage now with a lot more uphill km.
The local spectators will without doubt cheer for  Awang the only Malaysian rider in the race, the 31 years old sprinter amongst the better in the race.
Favorites (climbers)
With this profile the winner will without doubt be one of the best climbers, we got three that is the most likely to claim overall victory :
 Pinot,  Ratiy and  Valls, the latter a slightly weaker climber but with his better backup skill, I guess evenly strong.
Beneath those three we got:
Vinhas and  Kwiatkowski, Kwiatkowski on paper a weaker pure climber, but with his better acceleration and overall skillset he may turn out to be very dangerous. Vinhas may have to work for Pinot a strong combo for GCN, but may hurt his personal ambitions.
Besides those four top riders (lets rule Vinhas out for now) there are a lot of great climbers that may surprise us on the right day, look out for:
 Signorini,  Faiers,  Medvedev,  Panayotov,  Campero,  Giogieri,  Stetina,  Nibali.
But when all is set and done, I expect this one to go to GCN ProTeam simply because I see them as having the strongest overall setup.

With three flat stages there is some options for the sprinters to collect some points and we do see surprisingly many top sprinter in the race.
The fastest men here is: Thorsen and Guillen, but both with a relative weak overall skillset compared to Moser and Granjel Cabrera.

Brandt just misses out I guess in the climbers preview but he has beaten many of them in Tachira so hopefully he can repeat the success |

Another long stage race, another Azteca team without a leader. Keough will still be key for us, two wins in Tachira, need the same here with a prologue that suits him perfectly. The handful of mountain goats I brought hopefully can find something on those two stages to keep us respectable.

Only two mountain goats this time - might not be too bad, given that PCM didn't handle well three of them in Tachira. Maybe I should actually rather expect my sprinters to do well. Guillen certainly has some good support in Cissé and Stocker, who both are decent on the flat (and hence may be too fast for their leader...). Some stage Top 10s and a GC Top 10 should be our goals here.

Got a few different riders to follow here.
In the GC, I'm hoping Nibali and Borisaveljevic can fight for Top 10s and potentially even a Top 5 if they get lucky. Also hoping Borisavljevic takes the Youth classification.
In the prologue, Robert might be able to do something. It's flat and very short so it suits him.
More importantly, Moser really needs to show his class in the sprints. He's one of the favourites and he has great support in Fonseca and Jakobsen.

Nothing huge expected from Cort Nielsen here in Malaysia, with a strong list of climbers in attendance. Yamamoto is far from a favourite either, so any points from either rider will be appreciated. |

Not a bad ride at all from Fouche just outside the top 30! Unfortunately a lot of U25 riders so nothing done in the U25 standings. Would love a breakaway or two from him here - Habtemichael is 2-0 up I think!

Nice ride by Bille to take a top 5 and in with a shout of yellow if he gets a good sprint on him.
Tibo with minimal loses so despite him being 120th on the stage that will be nothing come the first mountain stage

Well, at least, we were NOT the worst team.
Just as expected, none of our riders was near the top. Stocker doing quite well with P23, though. Bring on the real stages now.

Fantastic second stage there from Moser and the team! Robert working throughout the stage as a domestique. Conci leading the team into the final kilometers and then a great lead-out from Jakobsen and Fonseca to deliver Moser to the line in 1st.
The first stage was slightly unexpected for us. Robert doesn't have the back-ups so I'm not expecting much from him. However, 5th is a great effort from Jakobsen, especially given that he's leading the Youth classification.
