There is a new PTHC race category.
It`s rather simple and "replaces" last years clash of PT and PCT teams in the HC bands.
In short: 22 PT and 26 PCT teams will all ride 2/4 bands of 15 race days. The numbers make it obvious already. All PTHC races will be 24/24 filled!
Read this carefully as it might decide over your bands.
Hence some kind of priority list is needed to make it as fair as possible. This means, that getting the first priority is quite possible but depending on the amount of first priorities for that specific band, it`s not a guarantee.
In addition I will fairly balance it. e.g. If a team did not get their 1st priority it`s very likely to get the 2nd and 3rd priority over someone who already got the top choice.
There will be no difference of PT and PCT! In theory a band could be filled with 24 PCT teams even though this is highly unlikely to happen of course.
There is also no 12/12 PT/PCT selection for each band.
Additionally to the priority lists, it`s done with a first come, first serve way. This means, that if a band is getting 30 1st priority choices, then the first to have PMed the choices have better chances.
This also means that there will be a start deadline to make the first come, first serve fair!
DON`T PM me your choices right now. They will be ignored and in worst case go to the end of the list.
The start to PM me your PTHC band priority lists is next Monday, 28/08, 18:00 British time. (6 p.m. UK time)
Please PM me your choices as seen below with the order as you like.
| 1 | Band 2 | | 2 | Band 3 | | 3 | Band 1 | | 4 | Band 4 |
It`s very important to send me all bands and not just your top two choices!
The bands are:
Volta a Portugal | Portugal | 11 | Colombo Classic | Sri Lanka | 2 | Rheden GP | Netherlands | 2 |
The first band has the longest PTHC stage race with the Volta a Portugal. In addition two classics, one for the fast puncheurs and one for the cobblers.

Deutschland Tour | Germany | 8 | Tour of Norway | Norway | 5 | Lac Megantic Classic | Canada | 2 |
Band 2 has the mountaineous Deutschland Tour, the hilly Tour of Norway and the new Lac Megantic Classic in Canada. Likely a sprinter classic but it needs tougher sprinters to go over the hills.

Tour of California | USA | 7 | SAA Tour d'Afrique | South Africa | 4 | Omloop Het Nieuwsblad | Belgium | 2 | Scandinavia Open Road Race | Sweden | 2 |
Mountains in California, Hills in Scandinavia, Cobbles in Belgium and a sprinter event in South Africa. Could it be more balanced?

Vuelta al Pais Vasco | Spain | 6 | Tour of Ukraine | Ukraine | 5 | E3 Prijs | Belgium | 2 | Lisbon Classic | Portugal | 2 |
A band without real big mountains. Why not. All other terrains covered though.

I'd just like to point out the Colombo Classic may need renaming - Colombo is on the coast, where it's as flat as can be. Maybe the Central Highlands Classic is better |

Will we get the exact RD numbers for riders and the point scales before the start deadline?
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Seeing that it was written in the info thread earlier that the points scoring system for PTHC races was still to be decided on and announced, will we see how it will work out before the upcoming Monday?
I guess we can do it anyway, but thinking of planning, it would be nice to see what it looks like before making the priority list |

Love the idea, well done. Looks like some nice race bands, too. Hopefully I will see some old friends from PCT again

I will face one difficult decision and one clear choice.. imo, a nice addition to PT team's season planning.

This would be a very good information to have.

Very interesting band compositions, although there are two races we have our eyes set on for obvious reasons, so I'm not sure how much debate there will be about our choices.

Maybe not about choices but about final outcome.
Not sure how probable it is to get 1-2 I the end. |

Can I suggest renaming it to Nuwara Eliya Classic? I've been to Sri Lanka last year, fabulous country!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Great idea! Yeah, I went in 2013 which was the inspiration for the MG project really. Nice place to cycle in as well, albeit with the roads being a little dangerous |

Keep in mind that tomorrow at 6 PM British time, which is just a bit more than 22h from now, you can start sending in PTHC band selections.
Time of your PM is one factor, hence the prepare time and startling deadline. |

Once there is a starting deadline, cio can be very quick.
Without a deadline, usually one of the last. |

We all know that's part of the image he's trying to create... That guy who never has time and needs to overthink stuff, when in reality he got no problem being amongst the first guys to get things done |

Well we're talking about PTHC band priority lists here
Also this year I'll have an excuse, I'm just trying to delay transfer season until after my cruise vacation because you gotta admit, I have a telepathic ability to make those overlap every season (and ship wifi hasn't improved or got any cheaper since the first time).
