Due to my holidays the ranking points for the Tour de France can only come now.

The race itself might have been won by Vesuvio but the best team performance came from Team I-Gen despite only just making the podium. Lecuisinier and Coppel mainly helped winning the race ranking.

Behind the teams that either did podium such as Bouygues or Pendletons or teams with a jersey such as RBC or Aegon, which also got multiple stages from their riders, which is also the reason for Becherovka to be in the top half.

Individually as usual the race winner takes the prime spot. Phinney with green jersey, stage win and decent GC beating the 3 in between GC riders.

Swift and Bewley as best sprinters here following closely next to each other, while Lecuisinier (Top10 + 2nd U25), Keizer (Top10 + KoM), Bakelants (Stage Wins, Top 20 GC) delivering their teams the double top10 individual spot.

Following the Tour de France scoring, here the full ranking with the race included:

Becherovka remains in the top spot but their gap melted depite gaining on former 2nd Aker. Both I-Gen and Vesuvio scored a lot more and jump from their mid table positions onto the podium.

Former podium or top5 teams struggle here but eBuddy, Aker are still in podium contention and could climb back on it later.

Evonik never was a GT team and hence drop a bit but still on a very respectable 6th after all 3 GTs ridden! Top5 chances in the end definitely but they might be attacked by Aegon in the final races for the best promoted team while also Bpost is in contention for that title.

At the bottom both Kenya and Grieg look rather desperate and might have to go down again after one year on highest level only.

Then a close fight for the safe spots. At the moment Red Bull, Orange and Jayco under the line with Pokerstars and Movistar just above. Question is if Degenkolb can come back to early season form and how TVG scores in late season.

Gazelle with a bit of a gap here looking on the safe side for now while RBC and Bouygues both climbed into the safe zone with their strong Tour de France.

Don't forget Puma, who are currently in 7th less than 100 points after Evonik. They could have a pretty good run towards the end also from Demare, Kelderman, Blythe, Daniel, Ciolek and Arndt. Especially if Sütterlin also makes a top 10 in Praha Smile

Very happy with our position, as top 5 PT rankings seems possible to achieve, so goals wise we look to get 4/5 if Spilak or Koretzky manages to get a top 10 in Giro di Lombardia. Should be possible, but could also fail.

Becherovka is under pressure for the first time in quite some time if Coppel and Kittel takes a good GC in Praha. Aker is looking set for some very strong results later on also, so can't be ruled out just yet, although 750 points is a lot to catch at this point. Having only one race left for Bewley and Velits (I expect him in Colombia) much will depend on Howard, Sagan and breakaways.

Vesuvio have a likely win in Liechtenstein left and some good races for van der Lijke and Gastauer while also Vanmarcke could do well in TONE. So they are definately in contention for the win aswell.

We ourselves have a very mixed race schedule left. Praha is a good race for us (hopefully, unless Coppel fucks it up), but from then on we have a lot of races that is not likely to give us anything, like Deutschland, Moscow, Lisbon and possibly also TONE. Also the TTT in Copenhagen is anyones guess.

It is really looking to be exciting with the three podium teams from last season all very very close. If Spilak can win Tour of Colombia like last season I think we can win, if not I think Becherovka will defend the win ahead of Vesuvio, but it could be within 200 points from 1 to 3.

EDIT:

Oh, and can we have the full individual list aswell? I'd like to make another evaluation in my HQ Smile

Thought we'd have actually gone up in the rankings after that but we're pretty safe there so that's satisfying. Incredible jump for Vesuvio. Thanks for that.

Yeah, I was a bit quick there, but we mainly talked about the top 5, though Smile

Yeah, me too Pfft - But you are easily in the top 5 Smile - Unless all the remaining points available are distributed between Pendleton's, Aker, Puma and Evonik Smile

Expected drop for us, and seeing how close it is behind us,we really can't put a foot wrong in the final races. Though, we really should manage, as our line-up for every race except the ongoing things in Prague and the TTT should secure some points.

Very interesting fight at the top, where Becherovka, eventhough they might still be favourites, it feels a lot closer when their gap is almost closed.

Thank you for the update, roturn!

Somehow not last in the TDF-rankings Pfft Last in the general one, though. Have decent rosters in the remaning races, but have to hope for a miracle to stay up.

Looks like it will be a great battle in the top. Thanks for the update, roturn.

Yeah, Bewley will race in Moscow, Velits and König in Colombia, Sagan in Deutschland and Lombardia and Howard in Deutschland, TONE, Lisbon and Tasmania. Nobody really in Liechtenstein and TTT. At this point we are definitely not a favourite for the overall title. It looks like I may well be happy with a podium this year after all. For me, your team is a definite favourite now, and there are around 7-8 dark horses who could easily climb right into the battle with an amazing race or two. Puma, Aker and Evonik especially. Metinvest may climb up with their strong time trialists as well.

I sure was quite lucky with Keizer`s TdF KoM and Oliviers 2nd in Giro KoM but in the end the solid depth in my team worked out just as I wanted.

Learned my lesson from 2 years ago in the PT, rebuilt the team a bit in the PCT season and now can attack the top10 even. The team should score in most races consistently with some races even offer very good chances such as TONE with Boom for example.

Obviously lost the plan A of getting Ponzi to add to a core of Keizer, Olivier, Groenewegen, Vanmarcke.
But in the end improved the depth even better with Swift and De Bie while only losing Vanmarcke.

So the pre-season unrealistically top10 division goal might even be reached at the moment. So this would be a potential 2/5 in goals with Keizer fulfilling the top10 TdF goal while the hilly monument win goal surely was too much of a gamble anyway. Pfft

Thanks a lot for another update! Always cool to see them!

I'm glad that I'm still near the top 5 at this point. Quite amazing to be still there despite ignoring mountains, TTs and basically also pan-flat sprints Pfft
Seeing how close the ranking is between 4.-13. a top 10 finish is still not secured yet. I guess a lot depends on ToNE for my team as that should be by far the best scoring race left.

Would be awesome but i highly doubt it. I have 4 non-scoring races left with both TT events (Praha included) and Liechtenstein + Colombia and only two great races (GVA in ToNE, Van Stayen in Deutschland) where i could get some big points back. Would be awesome to defend the position or perhaps climb into the top 5 again but I'm imo not in the position to climb back in the title race.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

It's becoming very clear that Red Bull are going to finish this season in the relegation zone, unless we get some very lucky results.

Got burned with one of Alarcon's GT's but in truth I didn't really solve the issue of replacing Cancellara who was just too much of an all round beast. Still some fighting for points still to go, Cav managed an okay ish Prague stage race.

I guess the main problem is with you paying a total of 1,3mio in wages of pure sprinters and their helpers, while none of them are worth what they are paid, mostly refering to Brus (125K) and Holloway (425K). Both are worth aproximately half of what you are paying (at most). Even Cavendish is overpaid as similar sprinters are paid from 185K to 300K. Riders similar to Holloway are paid 125K to 200K. Riders similar to Brus are paid 50K to 70K.

So if you had had those extra 5-600K in wages, to put into another leader, you would probably have had no trouble staying up.

On the positive side, your main riders should all get a significant wage decrease, so despite being in the PCT you should be able to keep most of your core team intact and bounce right back up. Especially if you bring down the numbers from 30 riders to 22-25. And if not, I'll happily take Diaz, Mohoric and Thwaites off your hands Smile

wait I heard there is a Slovenian team that might promote and need a PCT leader then Wink

in other terms: great work again roturn, you are the powerhouse of the man-game - I can't give enough credits to your work

in further other terms: damn it's tight at both ends - while the win should be between Becherovka and I-Gen, at the bottom anything can happen: even B-Post and Bouygues still in danger I guess...everything set for an amazing final third of the season

With Praha - Karlovy - Praha finished, it`s time for a small update. Quite some time already since Becherovka weren`t leading the ranking. But with a good performance by last years winner I-Gen namely Coppel and supported by Bouet, Vlatos or Coquard, they climbed up into 1st.

Bechoravka despite having their home race here, lost significantly being the surprisingly worst performer.

Vesuvio despite having a bit of a bad 4th stage still remain in 3rd position but now having a bit of a gap to the top but also to the next which makes a podium highly possible.

eBuddy remains in 4th while Aegon had a huge race and climb into the top5! Similar jump by GC winner RBC, who were top scorer and are inside the top10 even after Praha.

At the bottom no real underperformer here and many similar scores. Hence no big movement. Exception being Jayco`s, who had a solid race and climbed up just above the line pushing Pokerstars into the relegation area.

Bpost as last mention as their trend is slowly going downwards. The area between 4th and 16th is still quite close in a 1000 point range and in especially on the middle part you can quickly lose couple spots with one bad race performance.

Thank you for another update, roturn!

At least we should start scoring again now with both the Tour and the Prague adventures out of the way. If Kristoff can do decent in Moscow, we should score well in all races left, except for the TTT, and hopefully catch Aegon and eBuddy. Though, the standings just behind us are really close, so we could easily continue to slide down as well, if we don't perform.

Will be interesting to follow the fight between Festina and Becherovka, as I can't see Vesuvio catch up in the remaining races. As it stands now, I feel Becherovka is the favourite, but a good performance by Spilak in Colombia could change that.

SotD
Alright... Those 31 points will be lost in Deutschland Tour to Sagan and Howard I suspect. Otherwise we need quite a race from Koretzky and Tzortzakis. Very similar setup, but the Becherovka guys are just a bit stronger.

Vesuvio will come there with Gastauer and van der Lijke I suspect, so they might get a top result and a good top 20 aswell. Catching 353 points? Hmm, that would take atleast a stagewin and a top GC result. That isn't realistic. But they could well be narrowing it in, and be less than 200 points away from both Becherovka and myself after Deutschland.

It might end up being the HC run that determines who will be where after august. We have Le Gac in Clasica San Sebastian, which could give a few points, while both Becherovka and Vesuvio have their last go in the lengthy Volta a Portugal, which is a bit of everything really, but both teams could have strong setups if they dared spending racedays of riders like Vysna/Kolar and Kirsch/Aru.

Becherovka a huge favorite in Moscow obviously, where van der Lijke could also do well, but not necessarily better than Coppel and Coquard...

So my best bet is that Becherovka will be leading by 250-300 points ahead of my and Vesuvio right up there (maybe just ahead of me) at the end of the month. It will be very interesting!

Aker could have a top result in both races, and if they do they might be back in the battle also!

Just checked my remaining schedule and it was good to see lots of Swift, De Bie, Keizer, Boom, Olivier rd left. So while I am sure to not have big enough highlights to remain in the top5 I am quite confident to stay in the top10 and fulfill 2/5 race goals this way.

Basically no weak squad in any remaining race and pretty consistent scoring I hope to justify a top half result this time in the PT.

Gone above the points needed to survive last season now and Phinney has broke the 2000 mark which is fantastic and the main reason if we survive.

Thanks for updating it again. Always appreciated ! Smile
This Update proves how quickly everything can change. IGen suddenly at the top, Evonik down to 9th, RBC for once into top 10, ...

Promises to be a very exciting run in of the season with good battles at all positions Grin
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Intense battle at both top and bottom!

Before the Tour we had a 622 point gap to the relegation spots; now it's 400 points. I actually expected our drop to be worse though. 400 points might be tight, but there's still three Ginanni races ahead of us and one Madrazo race. If those guys deliver we should be safe.

Thanks for the update!
