Just 7 main continental teams, plus 4 B Teams are entered into Peru, providing an excellent opportunity for those teams to score points. The terrain should suit the climbers, but the 42km TTT will have a definate impact.
With no Jose Chacon, Manuel Medina of British Airways may fancy his chances but the big favourite is Fed-Ex's Tom Danielson, who again has the strong support of Sevilla, Martinez and Botero. Another strong performer from Vuelta al Tachira is Slipstream's Saul Raisin. Raisin faded towards the end in that race but may fare better in Peru, which is shorter in length, one thing is for sure, the TTT will be of great benefit to the team.
Kanstantin Siutsou is the fourth big contender to have stayed in South America and is capable of a podium finish at least for the White Bear Steyr team.
Benfica's team leader Nuno Ribeiro debuts in this race, as does the Wiggle duo of Marcos Arriagada and Leonardo Bertagnolli.
If there are any mass sprints, riders like Sebastien Sielder, Rahssan Bahata and Artur Gajek may feature, as will sprinters from the B Teams.

what stage is the TTT on? If levi has his big timetrailing guns here he could open up a nice gap.

We're gonna have another Danielson vs. Medina fight. But the outcome will end up favouring the one that doesnt get screwed over by the game. That said, i can see Saul Raisin can winning it too.

Watch out for Gatorade B. We did pretty good at the Vuelta all Tachira.

Slipstream did not bring the best squad we could have preferring to send a better TTT squad to Egypt. We should be up there though if not winning it.
Our squad is Raisin, Peterson (a dark horse possibley) Nydam (looking for a bit of redemption) Craig Lewis, Anthony Colby (nice ride at Tachira from him) and Rahsaan Bahati.
Look out for our B riders as well. My tip for the overall is Nathan Miller

I'm pumped. There is a good chance that the Gatorade B team will be in the top 10 of overall teams for this race. Especially since there are only 11 teams.

My B team will have something to say about that. They're still mad they're labeled the "B" team, they claim they were better than last year's Pro Tour squad . |

I really should learn this once and for all -- never write race reports on PCM.daily. In no seconds, everything can disappear using stupid shortcuts  The report was nearly done. I'll start over now. |
