Rutas de America
The C2HC-rated Rutas de America - in it's premier edition - would of course attract the best sprinters in the division to take part: 203km of almost panflat roads from Trinidad to Montevideo, Uruguay.
We've seen succesfull breakaways in flat classics, but like always, it's the top-sprinters fancy their chances the best..
The Startlist
The Favorites
Matthews | Rowe | Serebriakov | Manarelli | Forero | Peeters | Drapac | Haedo | Guillén | Sutton | Sinner | Dahlberg | Dupont | Opie | Uugunbayar | Schinker | Awang | Gajek |
Hard to pick a clear favorite, but coming off some good races are Matthews (Risa), Guillén (ONCE), Manarelli (Bonsucro) and also Drapac (Bank of Ireland).. of course Rowe (ASDA) and Serebriakov (Ameriabank) are worth a mention and some more names will aim for the podium here.
There are also several teams with two possible threats for a great result here, such as Risa (with Sutton), Azteca, Bank of Ireland (Hawkins) or In-n-Out (Aulas), while some other teams may just hope for being featured in a strong breakaway or their less strong sprinter to catch the perfect wheel..

Quite the terrifying startlist, hoping for a breakaway here

C'mon tsmoha, show me a mass sprint!
We have a goal of a top 5 here, but with Manarelli a win could be on the cards. Race is in Uruguay so Aguilar should be at his best, if nationality bonus is still a thing. We might even see a Bonsucro lead-out for the first ever time.
Needless to say, massive race for the team. |

Tough start list... as always I guess
I hope that Rowe can do something special here, we need points and a lot of them!

I hope for an outcome like at the great ocean road classic where one of my young Thai won. Of course that requires shitty AI but that shouldn't be a problem.

C'mon Forero... your opportunities are running out; time to put in a good performance and get us some much-needed points.

Guillen has struggled in longer races before but lets see what he can do here.

Well, a flat one day classic and we are the worst rated team. So a breakaway it is then, got few riders who can do the job so go for it boys.

Nutresa have a team packed full of sprinters for this flat classic, but no superstar favourite so will be interesting to see what transpires.

Don't expect much here but it would be cool to be in the break or to see something from Stoltz...

Drapac coming in here after a win in Barcelona - aim has to be a podium.

I believe it's my win goal, so anything but that would be disappointing.

Strange strategies from us, but a Top 5 is acceptable too, I suppose.
