2013 is not going to be an easy year for the Argos - Shimano team. It is our goal to maintain our position in the World Tour. This will be a serious challenge as our team is mostly specialized in sprinting and this is not the area where most points can be won. We estimate that 500 points should be sufficient which mostly must be won by winning flat stages of the grand tours and the smaller tours and the relatively flat classics that finish in a mass sprint.

You've already posted I love the idea and layout so far of this story. I've just started getting into these stories, and this looks to be a great start! I can't wait to see some racing!
When you can't decide between two options, flip a coin. Not because the result of the coin will choose for you, but because, in that split second before the coin lands, you'll know what side you want it to fall on.

Best of luck! Degenkolb will be important in the cobbled classics and Amstel for points!
San Remo should be a gift for Argos, though |

The Australian National Championships
Buninyong - Buninyong 196 km
 Will Clarke
As expected Orica Greenedge took control of the race as they had several candidates for the victory in their squad. They allowed breakaways but kept the gap between the breakaway and the pack relatively short.
During sudden heavy rains McCarthy, Clarke, Dennis, Lloyd and Wurf managed to increase the gap with the pack where the riders were struggling and barely managed to stay on their bikes on the slippery roads. Greenedge completely dropped the pace and soon the lead of the escapies was more than 30 minutes.
In the heavy storm Lloyd suprised his fellow escapies and eventually arrived at the finish alone in this bizare race. He is the new Australian Champion! Behind him Wurf sprinted to the second place before Clarke, Dennis and McCarthy. The riders in the pack did not make it to the finish as the storm was getting worse by the minute.
Full race results:
| 1 | | Matthew Lloyd | Lampre - Merida | 5h16'15 | | 2 | | Cameron Wurf | Cannondale Pro Cycling | + 26 | | 3 | | Jonathan Clarke | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | | 4 | | Rohan Dennis | Garmin - Sharp | s.t. | | 5 | | Jay McCarthy | Team Saxo - Tinkoff | s.t. |

Thanks guys. You can go ahead and post. This was my first race on PCM12 and one of the most bizare ones ever. Greenedge didn't seem to be interested in the victory once it started to rain. And only 5 riders made it to the finish. I hope the other races will give somewhat more realistic results. Anyway, it was a fun race... |

Good luck with the career. And hope you can stay within the UCI World Tour.
Just a quick question what are your sponsor goals for the season?

The Australian National ITT Championships
Balarat - Balarat 37 km
 Will Clarke
Things were looking excellent for Orica - Greenedge as Durbridge, O'Grady and Meyer put excellent times on the clock, while Evans, Bobridge and Rogers didn't perform well. Only Porte managed to make it to the podium on the first two sectors. But in the most difficult and slight uphill last section Porte was very quick and eventually managed to put the fastest time on the clock. He is the new Australian National ITT Championship.
Full race results:

Santos Tour Down Under
Stage 1: Prospect - Lobethal 133 km
John Degenkolb - Will Clarke - Tom Dumoulin - Simon Geschke - Cheng Ji - Koen de Kort - Tom Stamsnijder
There was immediate action at the start of the first stage of the Tour Down Under. Several riders tried to get into the breakaway, but despite sprinters as Goss, Cavendish and Greipel weren't present, the pack didn't want to let anybody go and force the stage into a mass sprint. Eventually, Ponzi, Geslin and Lloyd in his newly acquired Australian National jersey were allowed to breakaway from the pack.
Geslin showed that he was the strongest rider of the breakaway. He arrived first on top of the Skoda King of the Mountain sprint on Checkers Hill Road before Ponzi and Lloyd. He also took the first two Jayco sprints at Onkaparinga Valley road before Lloyd and Ponzi and Ponzi and Lloyd. The riders never got more than four minutes. And at the end of the race the pack slowly brought back the escapies to well before the finish. To secure the third intermediate sprint Geslin left the others behind.
Despite his attempt Geslin wasn't able to make it to the finish alone and due to work of Argos - Shimano and AG2R the pack steamed to the finish. Eventually it was Gallopin who was positioned perfectly behind Degenkolb and beat him just before the finishline.

Nice reports so far but you should really put the results except for the Top 10, maybe Top 20, in a spoiler
