Orica Green-Edge Development Team with: Tour de Normandie Stage 5 up soon
Selwink
Orica-GreenEdge Development Team

Database PCM.Daily 2013 Database V1
Race Difficulty: Normal (I might switch to hard, if this proves to be too easy)
Development of Attributes: 0.5

In August 2012 Orica-GreenEdge had already seen they would have enough both financial and sportive space for a development team. The directors immediately went looking for a sponsor, starting internal. Of these sponsors only one major sponsor could be found. They already delivered the bikes and now also sponsor the new development team. This sponsor is Scott:

img145.imageshack.us/img145/7136/scottlogo.jpg

It was however clear they couldn’t pay everything. The directors couldn’t find any sponsor that already sponsored the big team. Tissot however declared they were prepared to invest in the cycling, to help building both their own reputation and the reputation of cycling. Tissot will fulfil the financial picture, filled with some minor sponsors.

img7.imageshack.us/img7/9618/tissotlogox.jpg

The minor sponsors are Subaru, Orica, GreenEdge and Santini SMS
The shirt will look like this:

NCs:

Australia

The Netherlands

Switzerland
img812.imageshack.us/img812/2946/scottissotmaillotswi.png

Credits for the shirts go to hans_kristian.

We will ride with the same equipment as Orica Green-Edge.

Now everything else is clear, the name of the team had to be unveiled. It will be:

Scott-Tissot Development Team for Orica-GreenEdge.
Most of the time this will however come down to Scott-Tissot and the pleasure of being director of this team has been given to me!

We hope to announce the first riders very soon!

If there is anything I forgot, please tellWink

Selwink - Good Luck, it should be interesting Wink

@Ian Butler & sutty68: Thanks!

Welcome to the announcement of the first six riders

The first rider to join our team is:

Aaron Donnelly img809.imageshack.us/img809/2232/adonnelly.jpg
This 21-year-old Australian-born rider is specialized in the time trial and is a strong addition in a sprint train.

Scott Law img844.imageshack.us/img844/3015/slawd.jpg
Just like Donnelly he is 21 years old. He is very useful in the time trial and the sprint train and his own sprint finish isn’t bad either.

Adam Phelan img585.imageshack.us/img585/5827/aphelan.jpg
Adam is just like the other two 21 year old. He is probably our best GC contender as he has a strong climb and time trial. He can also do the shorter mountains.

Thomas Palmer img404.imageshack.us/img404/4348/tpalmer.jpg
At the age of 22 he is one of the oldest riders in the team. Thomas can do some sprints and time trials, but will mostly be used as a helper.

Mitchell Lovelock-Fay img407.imageshack.us/img407/3269/mlovelockfay.jpg
This 20-year-old rider is a very useful at almost everything. He is good at mountains, shorter hills, time trials and can be good in the sprint train.

Joshua Preteimg201.imageshack.us/img201/1268/jprete.jpg
He is the last rider we will present today. He is 21 years old and a decent sprinter. He is however a very good helper as well.

Thanks for your attention, we will soon continue with 6 more riders.

Welcome to the announcement of the next six riders

Our next rider to join is:

Alastair Loutitimg39.imageshack.us/img39/4616/aloutit.jpg
Alastair is one of the 22-year-old riders in the team, and our seventh Aussie. He is best at sprints and time trials. Mountains however will be tough.

Derk Abel Beckeringhimg405.imageshack.us/img405/9955/dbeckeringh.jpg
Since there are some Dutchmen at Orica (with success), some young Dutchmen were invited to Scott. He is the first. This 20-year-old rider can be used for sprints and time trials.

Ben Grendaimg842.imageshack.us/img842/2542/bgrenda.jpg
Ben is 22 years old and will be one of the team leaders for the first season. His specialty is the mass sprint, in which he will have some potential.

Damien Howsonimg716.imageshack.us/img716/4290/dhowson.jpg
Damien is just 20 years old, and already one of the better time trialists of Australia. For that reason, he is also very useful in a sprint train.

Jordan Kerbyimg845.imageshack.us/img845/2093/jkerby.jpg
Jordan is like Damien and Derk 20 years old. He is a good time trialist, but he is a great helper as he is really good on the flat roads.

Dylan Groenewegenimg72.imageshack.us/img72/4000/dgroenewegen.jpg
Dylan isn’t even 20 years old yet, but already our best rider. Previous season he rode for Jo Piels, and for this season he had to choose between De Rijke and us. He is a great sprinter, but also useful on the shorter mountains.

We will see you soon, with the presentation of the last six riders.

BTW: This will probably be the last time I post twice per day due to school etc.

Cool, the first Dutch guys arrive Pfft
But seriously, I like this idea for a story Wink

Grenda is definitely the best out of that batch of riders Wink

Welcome to the announcement of the final six riders

The first of these riders:

Michael Freibergimg716.imageshack.us/img716/7571/mfreiberg.jpg
Michael is 22 years old and will be a good helper in the future, as he is a good time trialist and sprinter.

Calvin Watsonimg850.imageshack.us/img850/4083/cwatson.jpg
Calvin is 19 years old, and will already be one of our team leaders. He is very strong at the hills and his finish can help him as well.

Patrick Laneimg18.imageshack.us/img18/802/planevi.jpg
Patrick is 21 years old. He is most likely to be a helper for Calvin in the hills. We might also see him in a early breakaway.

Caleb Ewanimg818.imageshack.us/img818/6017/cewan.jpg
Caleb is at the age of just 18 one of the youngest members of the squad. He will be great for sprint finishes, now, but even more in the future.

Simon Pellaudimg32.imageshack.us/img32/2019/spellaud.jpg
Simon is 20 years old, yet very experienced. Tissot also wanted Swiss riders, and he is good at hills and mass sprints.

Lukas Spengler (No suitable picture available. If anyone has a 64x64, please send it)
Lukas is together with Caleb the youngest member of our team. He will be used for hills, mass sprints and early breakaways. He is the only other Swiss

This was the announcement of our team. We hope you enjoyed it. If you want any more info about the riders, check the full squad with stats.

That's a nice team, at least sprinting wise.
I'm not sure about all of them, but you've got a few guys who possibly have a lot of progress potential.
Climbing might be a small issue for the team though, but there are plenty flat 2.2 races...

Spoiler
It's good for the story that I made a suggestion in the stats discussion about upping Groenewegen's stats, and that Alakagom listened to it Pfft

These sponsor goals won't be easy, especially winning the New Zealand Cycle Classic will be hard. Still, it's a nice race to start the season.(except the NC's of course)
Wonder how the team handles Qatar. I fear it won't be easy Wink
