Naturally, I'm hoping for another shock breakaway victory - so long as one of my guys is there Still, should be fun to get thrashed by the PT teams. We're just happy to be here.

Hopefully the break doesn't win, because otherwise I don't hold out much hope for the cobbled season.
My money is on Boonen.

Having both Steurs and Pozzato here, obviously I'm hoping for something interesting to happen for our team (Besides crashing)...

from my point of view, here are 2 reasons, why this race is not relevant for CT cobble races:
1) it´s a hilly rated race, chasing down breakaway seems to be more difficult
2) here are many teams with great cobble riders, who can possibly win, so no one may want to start chasing as first or only...in CT we have only several capable team and I´m pretty sure that there will be enough of will to chase down escapees
I´m looking forward to find and read another great report soon

I'm just saying that with Het Volk and Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne going the way they did I would be disappointed if a break won again, regardless of if it is Div2/CT/PT. I would just like to see a showdown between some of the favourites rather than have them sit in.
Then there is the fact that it also harms me to see that as the result

and I´m just saying there is no need to be worry about, I believe the best cobblers will dominate in CT classics

Nice to get in on short notice, I suppose. There's no way Meiji will even top 20, but its good to get some PT race days in, and there's still the hope of a breakaway.

Huh, I beat you in Omloop. Cool.
I wonder If I am the only person who isn't sending their two best cobbled riders here?

The Management-Game Gazzette Issue #10
The classics have arrived and it's now time for the cobble riders to show what they have and to present their candidacies at RvV and P-R's thrones. As so it's time for the premonitory races, which constitute a chance for riders to gain confidence in their home races before travelling to Belgium. This week the East Midlands Cicle Classic takes place in Great Britain, and the home side Pendelton's Twicer will hope to shine in a race which, as well as them, was promoted from the CT.
Q. There are not many race days in Great Britain, in the ProTour. How important will this race be for your team?
Of course, it's a big race for us, being back home is a boost for our riders and very important for our sponsors. That said, there will be more British fans at the Tour than here so it's far from the be-all and end-all. Our big classics targets this year will be for Phillipe in the Ardennes.
Q. This race has a lot of interesting spots, with all the climbs and cobblestone sectors. What can we expect of these 231km?
It's a tricky course with some very long off-road sections and with some tough steep climbs - an English version of the Ronde you might say. I would expect an attack on the third or more likely the fourth passing of that middle circuit, as riders become accustomed to the course. The exposed section along the top of that loop could be where a break can really stick. Positioning will obviously be vital on the tight farm tracks of the Rutland area so we may well see some splits on some of the most technical sections. Last year they were all coming in in ones or twos so anyone who says it's easy racing in the UK doesn't know what they're on about! Whatever happens, it should be a cracker!
Q. Your team has a solid cobbles department, without perhaps a top class leader. What will be your plan here?
Geraint will be leading the team here. He is champing at the bit to have the opportunity to lead after playing the faithful domestique role at 100%ME last year and being back on British soil is a definite bonus for him. The climbing on the course may not suit him though and [Pieter] Mertens and Francis [Mourey] will be on hand to take over if he struggles on the hills. And we will try and get in the break, for the sponsors you know.
Q. What about the other teams? Who do you think will be the main favourites?
Tough call. Cancellara, Burghardt and Boonen would definitely be my favourites but I can't pick between them. By my reckoning it will be all down to tactics on the day. And who knows, a little slice of luck might give one of them the win. If you held a gun to my head though, I'd go with the Swissassin.

Defending champion Luke Rowe is happy to return here to support his fellow Brit (though Rowe is technically Welsh...) Andy Fenn in his bid to break into the top 10.

A podium result would be really good. Top 5 is a minimum goal here.
My money is on Cancellara.

Just thought I would build up some hype by confirming this is the longest report of the year so far for me.

Great. Will be looking forward to that. Fingers crossed, that it will be between the favorites, or at the very least that my riders are in the break
