There's no chance that we're discussing Ronde van Vlaanderen in the Other Races thread
Anyway, Ronde van Vlaanderen is on Sunday. This is Cyclingnews' short preview:
It is estimated that over 800,000 people will line the roads for Sunday’s Tour of Flanders, as one of cycling’s true heartlands enjoys the biggest weekend of its calendar. 256km and 18 steep hellingen face the riders, as they battle the cobbles and the elements. While all eyes will be on Fabian Cancellara (Leopard Trek) on the start line in Brugge as he looks to win his second consecutive Tour of Flanders, home hopes will be carried largely by Tom Boonen (Quick Step). Twelve months ago, Cancellara simply powered away from Boonen on Flemish cycling’s most hallowed ground, the Muur-Kapelmuur, and soloed regally to the win in Meerbeke, and the Belgian will be looking for revenge this time around.

I was going to open this thread last night - surprised it hadn't already been done.
Don't think Cancellara is as unbeatable as he is being made out. Boonen for the hat-trick of wins.
Best few weeks of the season about to begin. |

I think either Cancellara or Boonen have the same chances of winning it. Although I'd like to see Gilbert of Flecha winning it. |

My heart says Flecha, my brain totally convinced says Cance. Though everything can happen on sneaky belgian cobbles, *prays for bad weather*

I'd like to see Cancellara repeating his last year's win as well as I would like to see Gilbert winning. And no win for Boonen or Devolder please.

Cancellara is just too good. Although I'm hoping for an exciting race, even if Spartacus wins

Made the mistake of reading one of Cyclingnews Top 10 lists.
Under Flecha:
Frankly it was toss up between him and Pozzato to make our top ten and the Spaniard edged it simply due to the fact that he'll race far more aggressively.
From that, you would assume that Flecha was 10th on the list.
No, he was 5th...

I'd really like a complete shocker, with a unexpected winner, but Cancellara will win. I'm 90% sure of that |

I really hope Flecha could win it and that Langeveld could ride a final like 2008
But when the tank goes.. there is probably no stopping him
And for all you people hoping for bad weather, hate to burst your bubble, but the forecast is pretty sunny, with very very smallish chance on a bit of rain |

Pozzato to pull on the front, and then attack and win
what's more shocking than that? |
