So I've had a personal project here, based on the last db we got (with a few updates, fixed some wages who were wrong and I removed national champions).

What I've done is that I've put in the individual ranking points in a new bracket, then I made a bracket for wage / points. In other words, I got what each rider gets "paid" for each point they score. So based on that I present a list of the top 10 riders of the year (Stagiares, etc taken away):

1) Jose Alarcon (Team Ikea-Bianchi)
(Wage: 120 000€, 1130 points, 106€ per point)

2) Chris Froome (100% Me)
(Wage: 64 000€, 518 points, 124€ per point)

3) Simone Ponzi (Wiggle-San Pellegrino)
(Wage: 140 000€, 1055 points, 133€ per point)

4) Taylor Tolleson (Mercedes Benz)
(Wage: 60 000€, 412 points, 146€ per point)

5) Damiano Caruso (Wiggle-San Pellegrino)
(Wage: 80 000€, 540 points, 148€ per point)

6) Hassen Ben Nasser (Cilit Bang - IT-Factory powered by the moon X)
(Wage: 88 000€, 526 points, 167€ per point)

7) Mauricio Ortega (Petronas-Olympus)
(Wage: 55 000€, 317 points, 174€ per point)

8) Matthieu Ladagnous (Pendelton's Twicer)
(Wage: 50 000€, 277 points, 181€ per point)

9) Marco Guillén (Team Pokerstars.com)
(Wage: 50 000€, 270 points, 185€ per point)

10) Marcello Pavarin (Wiggle-San Pellegrino)
(Wage: 50 000€, 263 points, 190€ per point)

The next are:
11) Arashiro
12) Kocjan
13) Gerrans
14) Peterson
15) Rodrigues
16) Claeys
17) Proni
18) Bettini
19) Flügel
20) Casper

Just posted this for fun, will post about the Pro Tour later tonight, or tomorrow ;-)

Here are the 10 baddest, I've made a few rules here, so there are none riders with a 50k wage, none at level 1 exp, no riders with under 15 points (as the formula fucks up the riders with 0 points), no riders with or under 68 in avg and no stagiares. (Without the rules there were just 10 boring domestiques)

1) Jack Bobridge (Mercedes Benz)
Wage: 300 000€, 41 points, 7 317€ per point

2) Tommy Zaini (Team Lego)
Wage: 180 000€, 25 points, 7 200€ per point

3) Anthony José Brea (Mercedes Benz)
Wage: 200 000€, 31 points, 6 452€ per point

4) Fumiyuki Beppu (Red Bull)
Wage: 90 000€, 16 points, 5 625€ per point

5) Shaun Lewis (Yamaha - Greenpeace)
Wage: 150 000€, 27 points, 5 556€ per point

6) Dries Devenyns (Highroad-Tomtom)
Wage: 95 000€, 19 points, 5 000€ per point

7) Valerio Agnoli (Intesa)
Wage: 100 000€, 20 points, 5 000€ per point

8) Enrique Salgueiro (Sport Lisboa e Benfica)
Wage: 69 000€, 15 points, 4 600€ per point

9) Yauheni Hutarovich (Intesa)
Wage: 380 000€, 86 points, 4 419€ per point

10) Carlos Alexander Manarelli (Red Bull)
Wage: 70 000€, 16 points, 4 375€ per point

Without the rules the last 10 were:
Piamonte
Ji
Suparman
Passeron
Inoue
Hortig
Higgerson
Nizzolo
Vítor
Roberts

As you can see, the rules makes the list a bit more interesting atleast.

Very nice idea, and great to see Froome right up there!

It would perhaps also be interesting to see the other end of the scale.

Ginnanni will surely be in that. Pretty interesting and great to see Ladagnous the best cheapest rider.

 It can't be my fault that you didn't send Gusev to the right races.

He's a cobbled rider! I sent him to cobbled races!

Important rule: If Waghlon has sent a rider to the right race for them, it is more by luck, than intention Pfft

But Gusev is just not a suitable CT rider.

Can't we fine him for taking advantage of me?

I have never had a CT team. What I said back then did sound very good in theory Pfft

(But hey, I'm gladly signing him back for the upcoming season)

I'm quite disapointed that Pozzatto doesn't feature on that list...

Actually He'll probably be on the 10 worst list Pfft

Updated, you were all wrong :-p

For me Brea (who sent Mercedes over the limit) is the "worst" becuse also the riders lost. Also Hutarovich is interesting, as I bid for him :-p I think that was pure desperation ;-)

SportingNonsense
Jose Alarcon, at a wage of 120k, sort of guarantees promotion. And to think how much more points he would have got without crashing out of the race lead on the final stage of the 2 Malaysian races!

Theres no way he'll be so cheap next season - hopefully a PT team signs him though, see how well he can do at the top level.

While Ponzi and Caruso of Wiggle - a key example of the merits of developing your own riders.

Quite surprised, was expecting more of my riders to be in the bottom 10 list, but then realised that most of my poor performers probably scored less than 15 points Rolling Eyes

A few interesting names that are pretty low:

Ndibri (3 333€ per point)
Brown (3 284€ per point)
Guarnieri (3 000€ per point)
Greipel (2 478€ per point)
Pineau (2 188€ per point)
Gusev (1 830€ per point)
Steegmans (1 781€ per point)
Delgado (1 416$ per point)
Vantomme (1 411€ per point)
Voeckler (1 392€ per point)
Carrara (1 307€ per point)
Kritsky (1 155€ per point)

And some other interesting riders:

Pozzatto (1 004€ per point)
Serpa (963€ per point)
Pellizotti (919€ per point)
Ginanni (913€ per point)
Ricco (875€ per point)
Schumacher (790£ per point)
Evans (783€ per point)
Gilbert (775€ per point)

If anyone got any wishes, I might post them ;-)

Phillipe's been good..

Brea was a massive mistake on my part. And Bobridge isn't mine, though I will take him if that's ok with SN... Pfft

This is very nice work Heine. makes for an interesting read indeed.

I think you have to factor in with Ben Nasser that he cost Waghlon quite a big transfer fee so whether he gave great value for money will be seen in the long term I suppose. Still he and Bellis remain very useful assets for his team.

Worst value, I dunno if you gonna rule out 50,000 then I would have ruled out anyone below 100,000...

Would be interested to see how the top 30 or so waged riders did in comparison to each other! Though you have largely covered it above.

Voeckler has a high price per point because of his awesomeness IRL...
