Welcome to Mexico:

The seven stage Vuelta Chihuahua is one that should favour the parcours, this race is fairly unconventional in that it lacks a big mountain top finish . The two mountain stages though are difficult ones being in the heat and at altitude and will test teamwork to the full.
Stage four is a double mountain climb - again at altitude and in the heat should favour climbing/TT ing all rounders.
We have just five CTour teams here all will be looking to finish their seasons off with style:
Spoiler Benfica
1. F.Marquez
2. F.Ardila Cano
3. F.Colorado
4. T.Machado
5. D.Moreno
6. D.Petrov
7. N.Ribeiro
Bimbo
11. M.Samwel
12. J.Berard
13. I.Camaño
14. D.Craven
15. M.Hofland
16. V.Rodrigues
17. H.Sabido
Santander
21. D.López Garcia
22. J.Castroviejo
23. A.Durán
24. O.Guerao
25. A.Hernández Gutierrez
26. D.Ortega
27. R.Valls
Quiksilver
31. Y.Delgado
32. C.Betancourt
33. J.Hicks
34. P.Mach
35. D.MartÃnez
36. J.Mercado
37. G.Nizzolo
Red Bull
41. J.Rodas
42. R.Kilun
43. C.Manarelli
44. M.Matthews
45. A.Semple
46. C.Sutton
47. S.Zwizanski
Benfica's Marquez is an excellent young climber and as you would expect is well accompanied by the usual Benfica climbing squad. It is significant that this may well be the last time we see Benfica in a climbing tour, they are not present in the Sun Tour climbs. There riders are most definately in the shop window and will interest Protour anf CTour teams alike.
Bimbo Nutella have also come here at full strength, Samwel is perhaps their strongest climber but watch out for Rodrigues, Beraud and Camano who are very good climbers in their own right. A funny one to see one of Bimbo's star riders that they own in their own right here - Dan Craven may find the features here a bit too mountainous. Sabido is the sort of rider who could nab a couple of sprints towards the end of the race - given his ability to survive the climbs without losing too much energy.
For Santander - lets not fool ourselves, they have the look of a protour stage racing team. But they could well fall short of promotion unless they produce a special performance here. For Lopez Garcia it is important that he makes this one decisive - his poor performance at Portugal still rankles the team boss and this could be his retribution. A small field should give Valls, Ortega and Castrovieja a chance of a top ten and Oscar Guerao should figure in the sprints.
Quiksilver have packed their schedule with stage races at the end of the season - Yeison Delgado just managed to sneak into the top five at the Tour of America, sealing a team goal. That was his purpose and he may have a shot at a podium here. Mercado, Betencourt and the sprinter-cum-climber Damian Martinez offer a good level of support.
Finally Red Bull have a team lacking their big guns Siutsou/Augustyn. Their hopes will rest with unreliable Colombian Julian Rodas and the more reliable Roman Kilun. Muddled selection this from them really with both Manarelli and Sutton picked for the sprint stages.
A quick reminder of the overall team standings:

This really is a crucial one for Santander folks!
Race Schedule:
Obviously after the Worlds
Wednesday: Stage 1
Thursday: Stage 2 and 3
Friday: Stage 4 and 5
Saturday: Stages 6 and 7
(PS Paris Tours looks like it would fit on Thursday evening as well)

Heads up here readers - I first two stages will come the day after the WC RR. So the schedule is flexable based on that.
So there will not be any stages today!

Good to see Samwel riding well, and amusing that all the Benfica riders seem to like riding together

I've got 3 in the Top 10 at the moment, but I reckon I'm going to come out of this race with very few points |

And with that, mb can almost surely look forward to a renewals dilemna, and not promotion. Its bad luck for him.
Great news for Vesuvio loanee Samwel though!

Great to see Kilun riding so well. Also, as SN points out, Santander could be in a serious pickle.
