Hello
As many of you probably know, I have a great passion for historical Databases, as I am an amateur cycling historian and I occasionally write. I have no great knowledge of the deep DB works on Excel, although I can use the Editors and also test it and find info on my archives. And since I tsrted playing PCM, and then with the finiding of the PPDB DB's I have for a long time dreamed of a project with a good historical DB. Complete, accurate, something that brings us back to a year that many of us see as mythical. It's quite obvious that bringing this projects back to the 50's or the pre-WWII period is quite difficult because things changed in so many ways and there are few materials at disposal. But the DB's about the last year also bring back something most of us saw on TV or live.
To achive this, it's very important to assemble a team, a complete group that can work on graphics, stages and so on. I have been linked with some projects, like 68 and 89; but I think we have to start from scracth, for the new game; and with a different approach.
So I leave you with a poll looking for the year you prefer. i am suggesting some years that seem important to me, but suggestions will be very well-recieved.
Regards

2009 you can play with the wonderful PPDB09, even if it is with an older game, it's far better than any historical we can do |

I'm not saying it isn't intersting. If you compare with the PPDB and plan it it would be great too |

Plenty of people don't have PCM 09, including me.
For this DB, I'd love to see 84.

Yes, I believe. And 2009 had a pretty good and imprevisible Giro. Do you have the DB there? |

'87 it has to be, re-doing the Triple Crown would be a great challenge.

So, there wasn't an aboslute majority on this poll, so let's go to the second time of the poll, now 1984 against 1994; Hinault vs. InduraÃn; Fignon vs. Pantani, who'll win???

1994, first year of large EPO using, Berzin, Ugrumov and others cheaters ! No, no, no, I vote for 1984, when cyclists were still human. |
