Frankiny randomly disappearing from the break is kinda indicative of how it's been following this for us. At least Inkelaar looks to be in a solid spot for the TTT to not drop out of top 20. Now he just needs to hold on for the last mountain stage!
Thanks for the report!

Eg heard me saying we could use some more aggression and went for it. Looked like he has actually one of the strongest in the move, but just wasn't the right day for it as the favorites obviously wanted to control. He loses minor placings because of it, but can't be too mad for trying.
Olivier basically riding to expectations so far. If he can stay around where he is, I would be happy with it. That's a lot to ask for with the TTT though. We'll surely slip quite a bit there since TTs are far from a strength. Need a strong stage tomorrow to set us up for it.

Giannoutsos rode that final climb extremely conservative, and it worked great today. At one point it seemed like he was having a bad day. Fingers crossed he Can deliver a good result tomorrow to stand a realistic shot of taking a top 5.

Ries and van den Broeck with huge time loses. Hopefully they go on an adventure tomorrow. Too bad they only have one shot left at a breakaway.

Not a bad race for us so far, with Peak having another solid if unspectacular performance, a surprise Gavars win and Wenzel racking up some points from his days in the U25 jersey.
Was hoping for slightly more from Ardila on the mountain stages, but realistically this was always going to be his least suited race this season. He'll lose a lot in the TTT but if we could get a top 15 it'd be an acceptable enough race, and it'd be great if he could get some points on the final road stage. |

Quite anonymous from us until stage 6. McNulty not really visible in the first stage rated mountainous but now put himself into a great position almost beating Bernal to the line. We brought a strong TTT setup here so for stage 7 it is about not losing substantial time to the other favorites. Thanks for the reports so far Ulrich! |

Haig too aggressive on Stage 6 and burned himself which isn't very smart riding and then can't stick with much lesser riders now. Going to be tough to make up time to move up from 9th which is a disappointing result but hopefully he doesn't drop further.
Thanks for the reports so far!

Well, we went all in for Eg on stage 7 and I'm not sure it was worth it in the end, though he did well to hang on for a stage podium and leap back up to 21st overall. That's a very nice result for him. Unfortunately, sending Skivild and Embret in the break left Olivier completely isolated all day and he understandably cracked pretty hard down to 16th on GC.
Not much to aim for tomorrow except to lose as little time as possible to try to maintain those GC positions.

Giannoutsos looked very strong for 99% of the stage, but completely lost momentum at the end. Too bad, as we could have used the gaps in our favor before the TTT. That being Said, with him collapsing it was a good thing that no gaps formed…
Time to see what happens in the TTT. I expect a top 3, but it’s full risk as Giannoutsos is our weakest link. So There’s a real risk of him dropping and losing significant time. We knew that before going into the race though.

That was a good final mountain stage by us! Cepeda joining the breakaway and giving the KoM points a try, and then also Carboni climbing very well behind to advance to 11th in the GC.
Kudus with a big stamp of authority, and that should be enough for the overall, I suspect. McNulty surely the favourite to get 2nd place, looking at the TTT units for the GC podium.
Also a brilliant stage for roturn and Fastned, running away with the teams classification thanks to a brilliant breakaway coupe, and then also propelling Schelling to a good GC. Congratulations! |

The one triple header race within expectations. Would have been cool if Tao didnt lose time bit this is still a fine result for now. Lets see what changes the ttt brings. We only brought 7 riders, hopefully that wont cost us tons

Looks like Ardila paid the price for poor positioning, and then the extra energy spent to get back meant he ended up poorly positioned yet again and couldn't come back. Not ideal but never had great expectations here, though would have preferred this to happen on an earlier stage so he could have gone in the break. Still, very few expectations of being particularly competitive this season so it's not too frustrating! |

Zegklis mitigating an otherwise poor race from us by winning the KoM jersey, which is nice to see! Strong effort by him to join the BotD 4 stages in a row.

Congrats quadsas on another great breakaway win! Vauquelin was at least trying in the last two stages and will rack up some depth points in KoM, U25 and GC, so it's about as good as it could get for us.

Very unfortunate about the time gaps. Some of them should've been given for sure. I hope we can attack in the TTT. Kudus is probably too far ahead though. Let's see. |

Very nice stage from Ries to get himself into a good positions in the GC. He won't be keeping that after the final stage, but a top 20 looks set at the moment which is exactly the type of result I'm expecting from him this season.

The team must have heard the unhappiness about the inactivity in TA.
Playing it nicely here with basically all support climbers going into the break. Maybe also due to the weaker performance by Dombrowski on the stage earlier.
It was nicely played by them, though unfortunately one rider was still stronger but 2nd/5th/6th obviously still a fantastic result.
GC wise Schelling even moving up ahead of Dombrowski and while no one in the top10 the depth might give us the needed scoring here.
TTT is not our strength but after the mountains the team might be capable to do decently to avoid dropping too much.
Thanks for the nice read. |
