I really like Sprenger, bid for him for a reason…
Boni and Affini really nice and good nationality. Shaping up to be interesting after Coquard

I hope that Bonifazio does well for you. He was the first rider on my FA plan, so obviously it sucks to see him on another team, but that is the game

It's been a good start to transfers for you and it will be interesting to see which talents you'll bring in on top!

You did very well I think. Some decent signings - and swappings so far

Love the Sprenger signing and Bonifazio is a lovely sprinter who everyone* loves for a reason. Hopefully he can show that throughout the season.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Or he'll end in another toxic relationship ...

Great signings, but really here to highlight one hell of a jersey. I can't wait to see these colors in the peloton next year. Iconic on many a level!

@Everyone - Thanks all! Really happy with how the window is going for us at the moment. Especially with signing Italian riders when we have changed focus. Still a bit more to update after this transfers update. Quite a bit of movement this season!
In the off season there is a transfers window with a few types of signings. We have gone through Part 1 of our Free agency signings already. Now we are going through the riders we have signed from other teams in a cash or swap deal. A very interesting group of riders joining us this season!
Pellizzari is a future great of Italian cycling! When we saw his availability we had to jump on the opportunity! He joins us for 600k from Bralirwa - Cegeka. Once maxed, he will be the leader in many races where the road goes straight up! We can't wait to see him in action and I am sure he will be of great use this season!

Della Lunga is another rider we aimed for from the start. A really exciting young classics/leadout rider. His development is extremely close to being finished and once it is done he will be of excellent help in many different areas! We gained him, along with Prasad, in a deal from Aker - ABInBev for 900k total for both riders.

A Spanish climber. He is here for one reason only, support and mentor Carlos Rodriguez. Roson is very experienced and while he is no longer at his best, he definitely has the climbing legs to support Rodriguez when he needs it most! We paid 150k for Roson and are excited to see him in the Green and Purple!

Finally we have come to our co sprint leader. When the manager of Aker - ABInBev approached us about this guy, we were interested but skeptical. Once Bonifazio confirmed though we new a guy of the calibre of Prasad was worth it. His experience in the PT will be a huge help for the younger guys. He will be our main sprint leader in races while Bonifazio will lead in the other sprint races. We should have some great coverage in the sprints this season!

Nice signings! Pellizzari definitely was a little steal I'd dare to say, getting him as a level 3 on that wage is great. Will not only be a great dom for Rodriguez soon, can also easily win stages here and there himself

Good batch of signings for the present and the future!
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

I hope CRod can keep you afloat this year. Only 12 maxed riders seems like a gamble to me, but I hope you've made the right call Best of luck!

A tough season up ahead for you I believe, but it must be great to have Rodriguez finally cracking up stage races within his full potential. Hopefully that works well for you. Bonifazio and Martinez should help a bit but elsewhere the points will be hard to find. See you at the bottom of the rankings I guess : p

Expected Points (Thanks to ChatGPT)
Amid the posting of team presentations, jersey creations and watching our team get scrapped through the mud of PCT predictions, we thought it was time to show you what we believe our team is capable of this season and why we selected to invest and sign each of the riders we did. Let's start with the expected scoring for the season of each rider.
| Rank | Rider | Expected Points | Points Range | | 1 | Carlos Rodriguez | 450 | 350–575 | | 2 | Niccolo Bonifazio | 330 | 250–425 | | 3 | Darshana Prasad | 300 | 225–390 | | 4 | Daniel Felipe Martinez | 220 | 160–300 | | 5 | Felix Sprenger | 190 | 135–260 | | 6 | Kees Duyvesteyn | 180 | 125–250 | | 7 | Edoardo Affini | 160 | 110–225 | | 8 | Robert Power | 120 | 80–175 | | 9 | Jaime Roson | 90 | 55–135 | | 10 | Reuben Thompson | 85 | 50–125 | | 11 | Luke Mudgway | 75 | 40–115 | | 12 | Alexander Edmondson | 65 | 35–100 | | 13 | Kim Heiduk | 60 | 35–95 | | 14 | Giulio Pellizzari | 50 | 25–85 | | 15 | Lorenzo Conforti | 40 | 20–70 | | 16 | Lewis Bower | 45 | 20–75 | | 17 | Carlos Antonio Torrico Menachio | 35 | 15–60 | | 18 | Maicol Adrian Tabarez | 30 | 15–50 | | 19 | Kiaan Watts | 30 | 15–50 | | 20 | Robin Orins | 30 | 15–50 | | 21 | Francesco Della Lunga | 30 | 10–50 | | 22 | Nicholas Narraway | 20 | 10–40 | | 23 | Dries De Pooter | 20 | 5–40 | | 24 | Jackson Medway | 15 | 5–30 | | 25 | Guy Yarrell | 10 | 3–25 |
Now I believe that the expected points for some of these riders are exactly where they need to be, but for some riders it is a bit high or low. That is where the "points range" comes in. This is the range of points I expect each rider to achieve this season.
Projected Team Total ~2600 points
Projected Overall Range = 2050 - 3250 points
This may seem a bit crazy to you but let me explain. In 2025, Spark Team NZ finished in 16th and scored 2355 points. So this means that we have the potential to score 2600 points which is an increase of 245 points.
Where Do the Points Come From?
Carlos Rodriguez
This is a newly Maxed Carlos Rodriguez. He produced some good results in 2025 but now that he is at the best of his ability, he should be able to do much better this season.
His calendar (will be released at a later date) is extremely well suited for this type of rider and this should help him have a highly efficient season.
My Expectation: 450 points but I believe 500+ is absolutely possible if he can convert hs GC opportunities in PTHC and HC.
Niccolo Bonifazio
The Italian is our projected second best scorer. He has the perfect stats for a lead sprinter. He also has a lot of opportunities to score as well. If he can perform well in the Circulo de Juarez, he could get some key points including GC because of the time bonuses available. This is similar at the Tour of Lithuania. 48 race days for this rider is also great!
My Expectation: 330 points but 400+ is realistic if the sprints fall his way!
Darshana Prasad
I'm very interested to see how this rider goes this season!
74 FL / 60 MO / 64 MM / 68 HI / 66 TT / 73 ST / 74 RS / 80 REC / 78 SP / 79 ACC
Such a wide range of skills! Not a really pure sprinter, not a huge climber, not a classics guy but he is super good all round rider who can score points in a wide range of races!
He should consistently finish:
- top 10–20 in suitable classics
- top 10–20 in sprint stages
- good breakaway positions
- good results in medium terrain
- potentially pick up jersey/secondary classification points
My Expectation: 300 points
Daniel Felipe Martinez
Martinez is your second proper GC/climbing option.
77 Mountain / 75 MM / 72 Hill / 73 TT / 73 ST / 73 RS
He's particularly valuable because he's not a pure climber. His TT and endurance are good enough to make him useful in stage races. His programme also gives him quite a few mountain opportunities.
My Expectation: 220 points But I wouldn't be surprised by 300 if he has a breakout stage race.
Sprenger
Sprenger is an interesting one. He's not your highest OVL, but:
81 Acceleration
77 Fighter
79 Downhill
76 Stamina
makes him extremely useful for difficult classics and aggressive races.
He's the type of rider where his OVL doesn't tell the whole story.
My Expectation: 190 points
Kees Duyvesteyn
His:
77 Hill / 74 MM / 76 Acceleration / 75 Fighter
combination is excellent.
He's one of those riders who can potentially score much more than his OVL suggests if the race profile is right.
The main issue is that he is only racing 36 RDs
My Expectation: 150 points
Eduardo Affini
Affini is your interesting TT/stage-race points accumulator.
77 TT
78 Prologue
79 Resistance
76 Stamina
He isn't going to dominate mountain races, but he'll have opportunities in:
TT stages
stage races
flat/rolling stage races
breakaways
GC support
And he's doing 54 race days.
My Expectation: 160 points but I think this is conservative.
| 8 | Robert Power | 120 | 80–175 | | 9 | Jaime Roson | 90 | 55–135 | | 10 | Reuben Thompson | 85 | 50–125 | | 11 | Luke Mudgway | 75 | 40–115 | | 12 | Alexander Edmondson | 65 | 35–100 | | 13 | Kim Heiduk | 60 | 35–95 | | 14 | Giulio Pellizzari | 50 | 25–85 | | 15 | Lorenzo Conforti | 40 | 20–70 | | 16 | Lewis Bower | 45 | 20–75 | | 17 | Carlos Antonio Torrico Menachio | 35 | 15–60 | | 18 | Maicol Adrian Tabarez | 30 | 15–50 | | 19 | Kiaan Watts | 30 | 15–50 | | 20 | Robin Orins | 30 | 15–50 | | 21 | Francesco Della Lunga | 30 | 10–50 | | 22 | Nicholas Narraway | 20 | 10–40 | | 23 | Dries De Pooter | 20 | 5–40 | | 24 | Jackson Medway | 15 | 5–30 | | 25 | Guy Yarrell | 10 | 3–25 |
Robert Power and Jaime Roson are my C2 guys so if they can perform in Vancouver and Austria, those points will be a huge help as well!
Either way it looks like this is a season of proving people wrong. We will see!
