Great to see an achieved goal. I’m awful at picking the right races, despite actually having some nice results :-)
Let’s see if you can’t push for promotion. Would feel weird to not having you yo-yo’ing right back up as you use to do. I Think you have a pretty solid chance. This time around your love for great secondary stats could be the difference between succes and failure (if not promoting Can be called a failure with your approach to talents).
Now we just need to find a Way of letting those Greek/Cypriot guys come “Home”

Congrats on a great first half. Your somewhat unconventional team build is working well.
Thanks, I think we've been lucky so far - from here there are a lot more compulsory mountain and TT RDs to come. Hopefully we get breakaway opportunities in those races or our scoring will be near to zero.
Thanks, it has been a fun rebuild to undertake!

2/3 so far this year is more than I've achieved in the last 5 seasons
I would be very surprised to still be in the fight for automatic promotion come the end of the season, though depending on disbands there might be a chance. Heading into this season the aim was to finish 1 point above the relegation line, so not promoting wouldn't be the end of the world - and would definitely be the aim for next year.
On the final point, there's always an amount of money that can make deals happen |

Cool to see you perform so well this season. Especially Peak and van der Poel have been really good so far. I think relegation is out of the books already (despite I predicted that otherwise) and the rest of the season will be much more relaxed for you.
And if your Greeks are looking for a new and more fitting home I can guarantee you your Frenchs will easily find one as well

Another year, another period of agonising over rider development choices. We once again consulted our research department, only to find they had overcomplicated some aspects of their work - including making some glaring errors - which meant we left it late to submit our choices. There are a few we might second guess in the not too distant future, and a few surprises for you all in there as well...
 | Hugo Page | Level 4 to Max | 2001 | Cobbles |
| FL | MO | MM | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | 71 | 66 | 67 | 68 | 61 | 73 | 70 | 75 | 65 | 76 | 78 | 68 | 70 | 66 | | … | | 73 | 66 | 68 | 69 | 61 | 75 | 72 | 76 | 67 | 78 | 78 | 68 | 70 | 66 |
Originally we planned to develop Page as a pure sprinter, but observation of sprints this season made us think acceleration was less important than it had historically been. With that in mind we've chosen to focus on improving his energy stats at the cost of his acceleration, hopefully also making him a more useful leadout for Peak (and later Mihkels).
 | Henok Mulubrhan | Level 4 to Max | 1999 | Climberv1 |
| FL | MO | MM | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | 70 | 67 | 71 | 75 | 62 | 73 | 72 | 74 | 61 | 66 | 70 | 68 | 69 | 57 | | … | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 70 | 69 | 73 | 77 | 62 | 74 | 73 | 76 | 61 | 66 | 72 | 70 | 69 | 57 |
A late addition in transfers, Mulubrhan's development makes him potentially worth keeping as part of our hill squad next season. Alternatively, we may seek to cash in to add to our budget, be that for training or signings, but either way we're glad to see him develop.
 | Laurence Pithie | Level 3 to 4 | 2002 | Fabian |
| FL | MO | MM | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | 73 | 66 | 69 | 72 | 71 | 74 | 73 | 71 | 75 | 73 | 74 | 67 | 72 | 69 | | ... | | 74 | 66 | 69 | 72 | 72 | 75 | 74 | 72 | 77 | 73 | 74 | 67 | 72 | 70 | | ... | | 75 | 66 | 69 | 73 | 72 | 77 | 74 | 72 | 78 | 73 | 74 | 68 | 72 | 70 |
Pithie's development plan was the second most complicated for us to figure out this season, due to his varied skillset. For a while we considered turning him into a puncheur/cobbler hybrid, but eventually going all in on cobbles won out. However, we deviated from our original plan to make him a stronger allrounder at the expense of his sprint speed.
 | Stavros Theorpanous | Level 3 to 4 | 2002 | Hills |
| FL | MO | MM | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | 70 | 70 | 70 | 70 | 69 | 68 | 71 | 72 | 67 | 68 | 73 | 72 | 69 | 68 | | … | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 71 | 71 | 72 | 73 | 70 | 70 | 72 | 73 | 67 | 69 | 75 | 74 | 70 | 69 | | ... | | 72 | 72 | 73 | 75 | 70 | 72 | 73 | 73 | 67 | 70 | 76 | 75 | 70 | 69 |
We originally planned to turn Theorpanous into an all rounder and flat domestique, but the puncheur route became more appealing when we looked at it in more detail. Few riders will have his combination of skills, which should make him useful on most terrains and competitive in some of the more unique races on the calendar. Plus as you'll see shortly, we identified another candidate to fill his niche...
 | Kantaphon Kunkumpai | Level 3 to 4 | 2002 | Stage Race |
| FL | MO | MM | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | 65 | 71 | 71 | 70 | 64 | 72 | 67 | 75 | 56 | 64 | 70 | 63 | 74 | 64 | | … | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 66 | 74 | 73 | 72 | 66 | 74 | 69 | 77 | 56 | 64 | 71 | 64 | 75 | 66 | | ... | | 67 | 76 | 74 | 73 | 67 | 76 | 70 | 79 | 56 | 64 | 71 | 64 | 75 | 67 |
Kunkumpai's development could have gone in a variety of directions - we even considered making him a medium mountain specialist. However, eventually we settled on perhaps the most boring option, but one we think will make him a useful rider in longer stage races in the years to come.
 | Madis Mihkels | Level 1 to 3 | 2003 | Sprinter + Cobbles |
| FL | MO | MM | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | 70 | 58 | 61 | 64 | 62 | 71 | 71 | 65 | 66 | 71 | 73 | 67 | 62 | 69 | | … | | 73 | 58 | 62 | 65 | 62 | 74 | 73 | 71 | 69 | 75 | 75 | 67 | 62 | 69 | | ... | | 77 | 58 | 64 | 67 | 63 | 78 | 77 | 78 | 70 | 80 | 79 | 67 | 63 | 72 |
The biggest talent we've possibly ever signed, and our future home nation star, we've taken a slightly different path to developing Mihkels to the one we originally expected. At the expense of a little acceleration we think we've managed to significantly improve his energy stats - and we also hope in the long run to make him more of a threat in races like Qatar.
 | Martin Svrcek | Level 1 to 3 | 2003 | Classics + Cobbles |
| FL | MO | MM | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | 68 | 66 | 67 | 68 | 65 | 68 | 66 | 66 | 66 | 64 | 69 | 70 | 68 | 66 | | … | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | 71 | 66 | 68 | 69 | 65 | 71 | 67 | 67 | 69 | 66 | 69 | 71 | 68 | 66 | | ... | | 75 | 66 | 71 | 71 | 69 | 75 | 70 | 69 | 74 | 67 | 71 | 72 | 69 | 70 |
The change of plans for Theorpanous was enabled in part by a change of plans for Svrcek, who instead of becoming a puncheur becomes an all rounder and cobbles domestique. That being said, we found this the toughest decision when planning development paths - at various stages our Slovak talent was expecting to be a puncheur, a stage racer, a fighter and then finally the path we settled on. |

Think this path for Mikhles makes a ton of sense considering that he becomes a lot more trainable and with 2-3 years of investment will be one of the best pure sprinters of his generation.

Cool to see Kunkumpai getting stronger. It might be boring but I can see why you went for stage race. He should end up being a very useful GT domestique. |

An interesting choice for Page! It might be worth it in the end points per wage-wise, but I'm not sure. Looking forward to see a maxed Pithie and Mihkels tackling the peloton 'soon'

Some nice talents you got there! And although I'm not sure I like the leadout choice for Page (for totally not selfish reasons) it's probably a good one given you have your future sprinter in Mikhels. See you again in PT next season!

Agree with the others here, it's a very cool bunch of riders. Not the route I would have picked for Stavros, but he's not my rider

As always, a great talent class coming through for you, with Mihkels and Pithie top of the bunch. Some surprising choices of training paths but you have all the profiles covered with this approach.

Some would suggest that was my main motivation...

That's the hope, with Peak this season being a bit of a test run for a slightly lower ACC sprinter with stronger backups.

Yep, it's a shame his FTR isn't higher as otherwise I think he could be very useful in the final week of GTs. Hopefully quite a useful rider to have on a low wage once maxed.

Definitely a gamble, but with Peak still relatively young and Mihkels a year nearer to maxing it seemed like one that could bring more all round value. If we can survive next season the future will be bright, though expect it'll be a challenge!

Not the route I thought I'd end up going for when I started planning, it has to be said! I guess the attraction came from having a rider who would likely be in our top 8 on any terrain, while also having a single strength as well.

I'm fully prepared for some of the choices to backfire, but after taking so long to make them I had to create some surprises right? |

When we last caught up on our results midway through the season, we were on course for a PT return and 4th place in the rankings. At the time, we said that would be unlikely, and we thought we'd just enjoy it while it lasted. Instead, the second half of our year was even better than the first - ending with 4th place (just as projected in June...) and automatic promotion, which nobody would have expected at the start of the season. How did we achieve it? See our list of top 10s and the individual rankings below...
| | | 2nd | Barnabas Peak | Tour of Lithuania | PTHC | | 4th | Barnabas Peak | Circulo de Juarez | HC | | 4th | Alexys Brunel | Tour of Norway | HC | | 4th | Xuban Errazkin | Tour de Pologne | C1 | | 4th | Kemp Orosco | Vuelta al Tachira | C2 | | 5th | Mathieu van der Poel | Benelux Challenge | HC | | 6th | Jack Burke | Tour du Maroc | HC | | 6th | Nur Aiman Zariff | Baltic Chain Tour | C1 | | 8th | Xuban Errazkin | Tour of South Africa | C1 | | 9th | Jack Burke | Tour of South Africa | C1 | | 10th | Hamza Mansouri | Tour of Lithuania | PTHC | | 10th | Barnabas Peak | Ras Tailteann | PTHC |
We started the season well with a few solid results in stage races, before Peak took a surprise 2nd in Lithuania in July to give us our best result of the season. Burke and Zariff then added a pair of 6th places in the autumn to help wrap up promotion, aided by a double top 10 in South Africa.
| | | | 1st | Mathieu van der Poel | Strade Bianche | HC | | 1st | David Dekker | Lillestrom GP | C1 | | 2nd | Mathieu van der Poel | Macskako Kerekparverseny | HC | | 3rd | Barnabas Peak | Down Under Classic | HC | | 4th | Hamza Mansouri | Badaling International | HC | | 4th | Mathieu van der Poel | GP Lugano | HC | | 5th | Barnabas Peak | Hanko Classic | PTHC | | 5th | Barnabas Peak | Philadelphia International | PTHC | | 5th | Barnabas Peak | Paris - Tours | HC | | 6th | Laurence Pithie | Strade Bianche | HC | | 6th | Barnabas Peak | Great Ocean Road Classic | C1 | | 6th | Barnabas Peak | Berlin ProRace | C1 | | 7th | Laurence Pithie | Lillestrom GP | C1 | | 8th | David Dekker | Lisbon Classic | HC | | 8th | Xuban Errazkin | Milano - Torino | HC | | 8th | Mathieu van der Poel | 1 Jour de Dunkerque | C1 | | 9th | Barnabas Peak | Torshavn GP | C1 | | 10th | Mathieu van der Poel | Tour of the Battenkill | PTHC | | 10th | David Dekker | Riga - Jurmala GP | PTHC | | 10th | David Dekker | Paris - Tours | HC | | 10th | Jack Burke | Milano - Torino | HC | | 10th | Hamza Mansouri | Gisborne GP | C1 |
Most of our better results in classics came in the first half of the season, but van der Poel and Peak added a few more top 5s to aid our promotion push. The efforts of Errazkin, Burke, Dekker and Mansouri to add a few surprisingly strong results were also incredibly valuable.

We had two big aims when rebuilding this season: having a competitive sprint department in every race, and to refresh our talent base. Our strong showings in Points and U25 classifications shows a degree of success here, with our biggest number of top 10s in each since our title winning season in 2020. Can we crack the secret to KoM success next?

A pair of fantastic individual seasons from Peak and van der Poel underpinned our success, but credit has to go to our whole roster. 10 riders in the top 150 of the rankings and above 100 points is well beyond even our most optimistic expectations, particularly given the only riders to score less were either talents or late signings to make up the numbers. Now we have to find another 2000 points in transfers for PT safety next season...

After a few seasons of failing the vast majority of our goals, this season was a pleasant surprise. 3/5 goals completed plus a near miss in a 4th goal will hopefully put us on a solid financial footing as we return to PT - a sentence we wouldn't have expected to be writing at the start of the season for sure! |

Peak was the star of the show but the team contributed very well as is shown by 7 riders in the Top 10 an d10 riders scoring above 100!. Loving the Dutch influence on the top results as well
