Plapp picking the worst possible timing for a break appearance. I had very high hopes for him tomorrow and wanted him to save some energy today without losing too much time. He had not the best legs and lost time and i doubt will be at 100% tomorrow now.

At least we burnt through our whole team!
Fingers crossed this is not how we are going to race as long as Valter stays inside the GC top 10 or close to it, as he should drop out with the TT, I hope Hopefully that makes for a change in tactics, where we rather are on the front foot and attack to join breakaways. Hopefully both Valter and JP Lopez can play a part in such stages later on
Thank you for the report, UU! Definitely enjoyed the read, eventhough I got frustrated at our tactics |

The stage started out bad with Aular and the team having to chase, but the team definitely made sure we quickly forgot about that with a great performance! Lopez Nolasco as the best of the break and getting 'close' to a stage win is I assume his career best performance, would not mind seeing him get similar results (and definitely a GC like that) with other breakaways. Maybe a KoM-run is a possibility, but we'll see stage by stage.
Big performance by Aular as well. Hopefully the second half of the Vuelta has more of this in store for us.
Thanks for the great report, Ulrich!

First proper mountain stage and it's a bunch of time lost by Champoussin. Hopefully, he'll go into breakaways now.

Its been a pretty discouraging race for us so far and very likely sealing our fate with relegation. Its interesting to see Godoy's race play out very differently from the Tour as he is well outside the top 10 at this point. Hopefully he will end up in the breakaway in later stages to salvage something. In any case, congrats to the winners so far, and thanks Ulrich for the hard work in reporting (despite our lack of success, it has definitely been fun to follow!)

Strong tt by Plapp. Still wish he didnt spend so much energy on the previous stage. Who knows what could have been otherwise...

Good TT by Valter! Staying just inside the top 10, but dropping to now being 7 minutes+ behind Herklotz is hopefully good news for the stages to come.
Congratulations on the stage win, Bikex. Definitely the pre-stage favourite, and good to see him pull through. |

Not a race-ruining disaster but after a week of controlling the race only for Areruya to not attack to presumably conserve energy for the mountains, we decide to control the race and then sit up when others attack and lose minutes. So poor, hope things change.

A bit worried about my team`s tactics at the moment.
A lot of breakaway success as usual but my team is instead working in the peloton for whatever reason too many times.
The only time now in the break, Denz was one of my weaker riders and so obviously wasn`t able to play a big role.
The final week must see the better climbers to show up in the breaks, starting with Wellens of course, who is having a nice gap already as 17th and should be able to be one of the stronger break riders immediately going for KoM or stage.
Vanhoucke, Schelling, Guerreiro the same. All of them should be the much better option than Denz, Hessmann, Vliegen etc. Would like to see them in the mountain stages basically daily at least one or two of them.
So the activity in the final week might decide about the race`s success as GC wise the team is too far down without and also the one stage win early on won`t be enough scoring really for such a lineup.
Congrats to the latest winners and congrats for the reports. |

Terrible stage from Latour, losing 5 minutes on the first proper mountain stage is not ideal. Yet to see any of the attacking flair he’s known for, it’s been a pretty tame race so far.
Firdaus riding well is awesome though - first Indonesian rider to wear a white jersey in a GT is awesome! I’m sure he’ll lose it soon enough when he starts properly working for Latour but still a cool achievement.
Congrats Bikex on the win and thank you for the report!

What a fairytale race for AKA. Absolutely no shame in losing to Philipsen in a straight sprint there. The fast rider won. Still, another podium and potentially another few days in the points jersey is incredible!
Unfortunately AKA is still a long shot to make it through this race, and even if he does, it's only a matter of time before Herklotz passes his points total. But I will relish this nonetheless!

Against all the good leadout riders at the Vuelta, the bad one in Siric somehow delivers for a 2nd sprint in row. I must be getting lucky or something.

Kuli chose a good train but then got boxed. Some points would've been nice but we move on to the hardest part of the race now. Hoping for some breakaway appearances now, with no Broxham to protect anymore.
Congrats to red and thanks for the report!

Thank you for the report again, UU!
We are definitely consistent in putting up a leadout for Prasad. Just unfortunate Prasad is also consistently not strong enough to profit from it Feels like he empties himself being near the front, having no sprint left.
Philipsen doing well to get another win, good to see. Congratulations, red!
Excited to see how we think on the upcoming four stages! Fingers crossed we decide to be active for breakaway attempts, but not given, seeing many, many teams will want that scenario. |

Finally one of our riders is back at the top of a stage classification. Still, no podium for van der Kooij, but it's good that he was there in the mix for it.

Missed opportunity for Ocampo in the ITT, a shame. Wanted to say it was nice for Lopez Nolasco to gain a spot in GC, but then he lost one and a half minute on the flat The AI doesn't prioritize him clearly. Understandable in a way, but sad. Let's see if we can forget about the bad ITT with another good mountain stage tomorrow
Thanks for the fantastic reports, Ulrich. Congratulations to bikex and redordead!
