Ladies and gentlemen, we're back. One year ago the Giro d'Italia Prediction Thingy came to life (https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=69438&rowstart=0), which was won with a Del Toro hold-up by Ollfardh when the GC points were counted. Later, knockout went on to win the TdF version as well, with maglia rosa Ollfardh also finishing fourth of fifteen players there.
The rules are the same as before, as can be read below. The classifications/bonus questions and captain have to be in before the start of the first stage. The stage results can be posted all at once, in batches, or one per one before the stage. In case you want to change your line-up, make it clear in a new post instead of editing an old post.
In this game, you can make a top-10 prediction (once) for the GC, the KoM-jersey, the points jersey and the U25 jersey. Obviously before the Giro itself starts. Apart from that you give ten names per stage as well, before that particular stage starts. You can send a new list every day, you can send a list for the upcoming three stages, you can already give a list of all stages now (and edit later), it doesn’t matter. Just make sure you have a list of a stage posted sometime before that stage if you want to score points in that stage.
The thing is, I don’t expect you to give the exact top-10 in that order, but just the ten riders that you think will finish in the top-10. How does the scoring work? Well, for example, this is what the top-10 in a stage will score: 1 – 100p, 2 – 90p, 3- 80p, etc. until 10 – 10p.
So let’s say Van Aert wins a stage, and 5 out of 10 people in this game had him in his top 10, those 100 points are divided between five managers. That gives five managers 20 points. If, on the other hand, Roglic is second in that stage, and only one manager selects him for that stage, that team scores 90 points. The same system for GC and other classifications. Important note about the scoring: you must score a full point to earn it. For example: if 6 managers score 11,8 points each for a rider during a stage/classification, they earn 11 points in the ranking.
Some extra point-scoring questions allow you to score as well, as they give you 25 points per question. These point are not shared with anyone. Apart from that you can also appoint a team captain before the start of the Giro. The points that rider scores for your team will be multiplied by 1.5 at the end of the race.
Captain: 1.5x the points you scored with that rider at end of Giro.
Bonus questions:
25 points per question
