Deutschland Tour - Stage 4

Stage Profile

Last two stages are for the sprinters again, and for the time-trialists it's all about staying out of danger and avoiding any time losses.

The intermediate sprints have no consequences on the day so we'll simply use them as markers across the stage. The five leaders have a 7 minute gap with 140 km to go.

Vesuvio were leading the peloton for the 1st half of the stage and taking it pretty easy. But JEWA and then ELCO took over to up the tempo. The gap has fallen down to 3 minutes and still 70 km left.

Into the final 30 km now and the gap really hasn't dropped much more in the last 40 km. Other teams are getting involved in the chase, but the innocent breakaway are at least threatening the stage victory now.

The breakaway is running out of gas, but the high pace in the peloton has forced a split over the sole KOM of the day.

The breakaway is done with 14 km to go. They gave it a good effort, but the sprint trains are taking over now.

Last 6 km are all straight roads and we see some new trains showing themselves today including one from cycleYorkshire, Bolt and Assa Abloy.
