Lots of pressure on the Ciccone, Quintana, and Cattaneo trio to do well in the mountain stage races. All 5 goals should be pretty hard. The KOM is so volatile, but the lineup does look suited to go for it. The ranking goal might be the most achievable one though.

Sponsor change on the horizon?


According to murmurs heard around Italy the Colombian sponsor, Ecopetrol, are not happy with the Colombian exposure when compared to the money they are paying.
Several other companies are said to be in line to take over, as Parmalat can not carry the full sponsorship economically.

An unhappy sponsor is never good news (especially as the failed Hodeg-deal could have some late consequences here :redfaceSmile, but a potential new sponsor is also always exciting! It will be interesting not only who could replace Ecopetrol but also if that is connected with a focus region shift.
