One rider from the breakaway of the day managed to held off the pack last year and denied the sprinters the change to take the win. The sprinters are the main favorites this year as well, but the parcourse definitely can help attackers, either from the original breakaway or late ones.
Coquard is not here, but that doesn't mean it will be an easy job for Ewan to take the win that he was denied last year as the recent Berlin winner Dainese is here and ready to put another one day race to his name.
Van Poppel, Zabel, Peak, Manninen, Liu, Einhorn, Demare will all be eyeing a podium spot here at the very list, under the right circumstances any of them could even be the one to cross the finish line first.
| Rider | FL | HI | RS | ST | SP | AC | Ewan | 75 | 71 | 71 | 73 | 83 | 81 | Dainese | 76 | 69 | 76 | 75 | 81 | 82 | Van Poppel | 72 | 64 | 71 | 74 | 81 | 78 | Zabel | 74 | 69 | 70 | 74 | 81 | 79 | Peak | 80 | 69 | 77 | 73 | 80 | 78 | Manninen | 73 | 65 | 73 | 69 | 80 | 78 | Liu | 74 | 67 | 69 | 76 | 80 | 80 | Einhorn | 74 | 61 | 71 | 71 | 80 | 78 | Demare | 71 | 78 | 69 | 72 | 80 | 78 | Willwohl | 73 | 65 | 67 | 71 | 79 | 78 | Adomaitis | 75 | 67 | 74 | 66 | 79 | 78 | Boudat | 73 | 68 | 74 | 71 | 79 | 78 | Bol | 76 | 70 | 77 | 75 | 79 | 77 | Riabushenko | 76 | 68 | 74 | 71 | 79 | 77 | Walscheid | 73 | 63 | 74 | 71 | 79 | 79 |
The Ekoi boys didn't get a chance to show themselves off in Berlin and will surely be trying to make that forgotten. The slightly hilly route could favor some attacks though I'm not sure that will be exactly in their favor.

Same procedure as every classic, either we sprint or we attack from a bit out! Thanks for the preview

Thought these kind of races might suit Riabushenko, but they haven't, so not expecting much. And a lot of hills on this one which isn't good.

Same drill as usual for us in flat classics - hope for a top 5 from one of Peak or Dekker. With no Coquard here I wonder if Peak will get a train if it comes down to a sprint, or if instead that'll go to Demare or Liu. |

Thanks for the preview, alex! You're right that our two rouleurs are our best bet here, but we also have Rajovic to get a decent result from a bunch sprint as usual.

Thanks Alex for the preview, hoping Willwohl can be a surprise package here but I’m not holding out very high hopes given the terrain. Maybe one for the roleurs, but let’s see how organised the peloton will be…

Pretty funny that we thought Tivani could be a sprint option here, but none of the true sprinters should really struggle on the hills. We'll need Montenegro/Senyenov to find a punchy move for any chance at a result here I believe. That is unless we end up well-represented in a breakaway.
In a surprising startlist catch... what is Mark Padun doing here?

Another great result from Liu, he has been super consistent just like last year

Not the best result, but seems like the downhill finish disrupted the sprint a little. Still, more points in the bank is always a good thing. Thanks for the report alex and congrats jaxika! |

Never been happier to have an anonymous race, followed by the first mention of a team member be a 6th place finish, after some disappointing results recently.
Thanks for the report alex and congrats jaxika.

Einhorn not even getting a top 10 is disappointing, maybe I should have kept a leadout for him afterall, but he was never getting trains to need one in previous seasons.

As expected, nothing from this race, but the reporting of the sprint was entertaining, thanks a lot Alex and congrats jaxica with a well deserved sprint victory! |

Firstly, great report. Love the intensity of the sprint, thanks alex!
Deserving winner in Ewan after a ferocious battle, congrats jaxika!
I'd be thrilled if I knew we would end up with 5 guys in the top50. Not so thrilled about missing the top30 altogether though. Given Adomaitis unreliability it's not a bad result in the end.
