The Race

The organizers favour the sprinters over the rouleurs, and we actually have some really fast men at the start!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0001.jpg

We have a rather big break of 12 riders although the peloton was quite reluctant to let so many riders get away for quite some time. But those who finally were allowed to go are pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eav.png Sweeck, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/sfi.png Arias Villanueva, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Kamyshev, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/znf.png Simmons, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/dvt.png Pollefliet, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/zal.png Belohvosciks, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kng.png Milesi, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lph.png Ulloa, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/iec.png Sillankorva, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lph.png Malacarne, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/min.png Ndungu and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/kng.png Leung.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0002.jpg

Halfway through the race the gap is at 3 minutes.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0003.jpg

It took 50 km to reduce the gap by a minute.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0004.jpg

The next minute only took 15 km and with 35 km to go the peloton has the break in view.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0005.jpg

And the break is over with 19 km to go. It’s time for the sprint trains now – or will there be some late attacks?

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0006.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen tries his luck with 12 km to go!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0007.jpg

He’s quickly joined by some strong rouleurs and a group of 10 has a small gap with 10 km to go. The other riders are pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Abrahamsen, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Della Lunga, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/dna.png Vangheluwe, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Hvideberg, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Culey, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/elc.png Boutopoulos, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tir.png Yzeiraj, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/blt.png Dekker and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/xr0.png Vermeersch.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0008.jpg

This attack is brought to an end by some riders trying to bridge across. The trains for pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/pum.png Kanter, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/yor.png Cullaigh, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ino.png Gaviria and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/snz.png Coquard are trying to control the field, but the next attack follows immediately.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0009.jpg

But this attack is also neutralized by counter attackers. With 4 km to go the sprint trains are finally at the front.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0010.jpg

With 1.5 km to go pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Coutinho leads the field after taking over the leadout duties for pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Dainese. The other trains are still in the mix with all the other main sprinters somewhere in between.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0011.jpg

With 800 m to go we still have the final leadouts in front.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0012.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ino.png Gaviria, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Dainese and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/snz.png Coquard all launch with 600 m to go. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/elc.png Farantakis is also well positioned.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0013.jpg

With 300 m to go it’s pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ino.png Gaviria in front of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/elc.png Farantakis, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/snz.png Coquard and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/aab.png Dainese. It’s hard to see someone else still joining the fight for the podium.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0014.jpg

And in the end that’s exactly the order at the finish!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0015.jpg

In the sprint of the remaining field pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/blt.png Peak edges out pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/pum.png Kanter for 5th. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tir.png Boudat, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/yor.png Cullaigh, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lph.png Halvorsen and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/min.png Kamberaj complete the top 10.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Hanko/PCM0016.jpg

Congratulations to pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ino.png Gaviria who takes a favourite win today!
