Interesting to see thatBarguil seems to be pretty tuned in, should be fun to see what he can do when the going gets real tough.

Race still hasn't really started for us. Congrats to the winners so far.

Bit of a ‘transition’ stage I guess, nobody really wanting to commit to anything. Congrats jandal on a good win.
Stüssi safely tucked away in the pack with noted climber Gaviria is good to see, hopefully he can perform well over the next two stages.
Thanks for the report!

An ok stage for Aular I think. Getting beaten by some clearly weaker climbers, but also beating some rather big guys. In theory, still on course for a top-10 in GC.
Great win for Specialized, happy for them. Didn't expect break to survive with the small bonus they had. Thank you for the fantastic report, kb!

Early signs for Kuds to dominate the GC! And what a stage for Specialized, but also especially for Jura. Congratulations, both! |

The amount of energy for the break towards the end is crazy but I take 2nd here. Solid effort from Schelling, perfect option for the break. Unfortunately Barguil was a tad stronger.
Though seeing how hard Kudus and co. rode bheind dropping lots of GC riders and still can`t make it to the break is hilarious. Basically Schelling/Barguil rode that final climb faster than Pogacar.
Naming Pogacar, who must have had an awful bad day here apparently also Wellens not with his best performance. His loss isn`t too bad but I had preferred being in the group around 1min ahead. Though Morton even worse.
15th in GC now, so either he is about to remain there for 3rd week stage attacks incl. GC improvements or it will be a rather average GC without much GC scoring. |

Great win from Barguil, but also a massive performance by Darbellay to take the GC lead!
Happy to see Vine and Karatsivis working together in the attempt for some stage succes. Vine looked good for a while, should probably have held back a bit. I suppose he was after KOM points?
Karatsivis lost a bit much in the end, but another succesful breakaway could take that back.
Giannoutsos did aproximately what could be expected, and is still sitting in a top 10 GC. Soon to be gone of course. Let’s hope he will continue to fight for the GC and not just drop back like he did in a previous GC race.

Foss not doing too badly but as a team we are simply too anonymous here. Congrats to spezialized, nice to see Barguil still got it!

Great battle up the mountain! And really nice to see Barguil win it!
Catastrophic for Pogacar and specially Morton

Think we're definitely seeing the difference in daily form this season with that performance. Pog and Morton finishing well behind guys 4-5 mtn stats lower than them. Will probably make for a very chaotic couple of weeks here.
Carthy was solid. About where I expected him on this kind of finish, though I probably imagined some different guys ahead and behind. Team is still very anonymous, but I guess that beats underperformances like Morton, etc.
Congrats to WJ!

Debut GT and after Van Poppel's near misses it's awesome to see Barguil take a very nice win. He seems to do well in fields that are stronger than the regular PCT ones as we have also seen in Pthc this year!
Tough GC outlay for a few teams here Pogacar and Morton really getting the worst of it but they should be able to bounce back. Thanks for the report!

Congrats to the winners and KB for taking on another GT.
Really good stage for McNulty, I have to think Morton, Pog and the others will strike back but good to see signs that Tirreno might have been an aberration. Dombro also having a nice stage.
Only question seems to be how much Kudus wins by.

Surprised to see the break make it to the finish - first proper GC stage and they let a break get the win.
Not much to write home about really, Stüssi is either gonna haemorrhage time and chase breaks, or he gets lucky with daily form and hangs out in the favourites group. Not going to know until the third week really.
Congrats WJ, good win for Barguil. Congrats too on the Maglia Rosa Fabianski, hopefully you come back around soon. Thanks for the report!

Very decent first mountain stage from McNulty. There are still a lot more to come but good that he got a bit of a headstart now on some of the stronger climbers. It’s a surprisingly strong startling here I have to say. |
