Todays profile pretty much mirrors yesterdays one, the only difference are a cat. 2 and a cat. 4 climb instead of two cat. 3 ones (at least the average is still the same). Anything else than a sprint would be a surprise.

As another reference to yesterday’s stage we once again have four riders in the break, but only three of them were also there yesterday. Those three are KoM leader pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lpu.png Verwilst, already breakaway legend pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/brc.png Marte and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/sfi.png Holm Jorgensen. They’re joined by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lpu.png Van Den Bossche who will try to help keeping the KoM jersey in his team.

When entering the second climb the gap is just under two minutes and the chasing peloton can already be seen in the background.

The two KoM fighters also dropped their companions after the sprint, but their gap of 1’18 won’t be enough to keep the peloton behind for another 60 km. Quite some climbers used the last climb of the day to get dropped from the peloton again to gain some more precious gaps before the mountain stages.

The escapees bravely fought for another 20 km, but they never stood a chance.
