Franceville Classique - Stage 2
Heine
Franceville Classique stage 2

Welcome to the main dish! 2nd stage here is one of the coolest stages in the game! We are going trough a grueling cobble stage that ends with a total of 25 km of 4 star cobbles. This is the real race for men! Whoever wins this is truely one of the strongest riders around!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0024.jpg

Another rainy day, another biggish break. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Louvel, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/min.png Paleni, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ubs.png Serrano, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Katrasnik, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/rab.png Van Den Berg, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/trg.png Pedersen, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Seigle, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ubs.png Ryan, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/trg.png Enggaard and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lpu.png Benedetti makes up the break. After realising it was pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/trg.png Pedersen and not pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen the peloton relaxes and the break quickly gets a lead of 5 min

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0025.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/cdb.png Per's pack controlling. We get an early split and the biggest name on the wrong side is from yesterdays break, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/trg.png Polanc. He does however make it back a bit later

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0026.jpg

Not a lot happens except for a small scare when pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/trg.png Per (there should be a rule that every rider has unique names) fell behind, but with 90 km to go and the main break 2:30 up the road pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gzl.png Teunissen and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lpu.png Gamper attacks! Speeding past pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/trg.png Pedersen who lost contact with the rest of the break. (Ok, I do have a bit of fun with these similar names)

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0027.jpg

They form a strong pair 40 sec in front of the pack

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0028.jpg

They catch up with the tailend of the break with 76 km left, 1:25 in front of the peloton

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0029.jpg

Off the cobble section pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ubs.png Jacobs and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Kamyshev attacks! Trying to join the groups in front

The situation right now:

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0030.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Louvel and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ubs.png Serrano in front

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0031.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/rab.png Van Den Berg and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Katrasnik 8 sec behind them

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0032.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gzl.png Teunissen, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lpu.png Benedetti, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Seigle and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lpu.png Gamper 1:19 behind

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0033.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Kamyshev, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ubs.png Jacobs and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/trg.png Enggaard39 behind them again, and the peloton a bit further behind

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0034.jpg

It slightly consolidates for the intermediate sprint, with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ubs.png Serrano ending up beating pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ubs.png Jacobs. Then pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ubs.png Jacobs uses the sprint to leave the others behind

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0036.jpg

The peloton however eats them one by one, lead by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Abrahamsen

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0037.jpg

He even creates a split. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/xr0.png Vermeersch the biggest name caught behind

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0038.jpg

50 km left and everyone watches eachother. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Kamyshev seems to have used up all his strenght as he falls behind to the pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/xr0.png Vermeersch group.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0039.jpg

That group do however actually make it back! 44 km to go and all the big names are together! We are in for a crazy finale!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0040.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Kamyshev got nothing left. He's done for the day! Those legs are dead

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0041.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gzl.png Teunissen puncture!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0042.jpg

And just then pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen attacks! pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ubs.png Jacobs and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/fas.png Van Hooydonck follows. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/cdb.png Per leads the 35 riders who are left in the pack

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0043.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen takes the intermediate sprint, with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/fas.png Van Hooydonck in 2nd and an attacking pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Kasperkiewicz 3rd. Pedersen got 20 seconds

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0044.jpg

And it starts to break up. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen 23 sec in front of a group with pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/fas.png Van Hooydonck, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Kasperkiewicz, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/cdb.png Per, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/akm.png Stokbro, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Senechal, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/evo.png Neilands, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/akm.png Anderberg and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/evo.png Ovsyannikov

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0045.jpg

Another 29 sec behind pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Zepuntke leads a bigger group including pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/rab.png Gerts, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/brc.png Girmay, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ced.png Siric, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/lpu.png Gamper and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/xr0.png Vermeersch. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ubs.png Jacobs among others has fallen behind

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0046.jpg

On the 2nd to last cobbles pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/fas.png Van Hooydonck, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Kasperkiewicz, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/cdb.png Per, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Senechal, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/akm.png Anderberg and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/evo.png Ovsyannikov catches up to pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen. An even bigger group behind Biggest names missing at all is now pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/xr0.png Vermeersch, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ubs.png Jacobs and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gzl.png Teunissen.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0047.jpg

We enter the last cobble section, 23 km left of pure cobbles with the 7 man group led by pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen. 37 seconds in front of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ced.png Siric riding alone. He is 7 sec in front of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/brc.png Girmay, with a larger group consisting of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/rab.png Gerts, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Zepuntke, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/jur.png Stewart, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Bohli, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/rab.png Van den Berg, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Sulimov, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/trg.png Polanc and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Hvideberg 7 more seconds behind. Not mentioned? Then you have fallen at least 1:30 behind this group again.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0048.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/jur.png Stewart, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Bohli, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/trg.png Polanc and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/gct.png Hvideberg looses contact

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0049.jpg

As does pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/brc.png Girmay after the group caught him

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0050.jpg

And then pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/rab.png Van den Berg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0051.jpg

At the front however pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Kasperkiewicz, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/akm.png Anderberg and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/fas.png Van Hooydonck looks strong. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/cdb.png Per, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Senechal, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/evo.png Ovsyannikov, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ced.png Siric, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Sulimov, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Zepuntke and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/rab.png Gerts following behind. 17 km left

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0052.jpg

The 4 mentioned sails away. The real battle of wills start now, who will prove to be the strongest?

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0053.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/fas.png Van Hooydonck's legs stiffen and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/akm.png Anderberg uses that as his chance to ride away!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0054.jpg

And he gets 30 seconds! This might be it! pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen leaves the other 2 behind in the hunt. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/cdb.png Per and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Senechal a bit farther behind, still not out of it!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0055.jpg

10 km left, he got 24 seconds

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0056.jpg

7 km: pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/akm.png Anderberg 16 seconds in front of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Kasperkiewicz and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/fas.png Van Hooydonck 15 behind him, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/cdb.png Per and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Senechal 37 seconds behind them. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ced.png Siric another 52 behind, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/rab.png Gerts and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/evo.png Ovsyannikov another 56, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Zepuntke 16 behind them. Then pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Sulimov and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/rab.png Van den Berg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0057.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen catches up! It's time for Sweden vs Denmark!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0059.jpg

Or maybe not? pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Kasperkiewicz and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/fas.png Van Hooydonck finds some hidden power and joins the pair. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/cdb.png Per and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Senechal still trying to catch up behind them again. Only 2 km left

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0060.jpg

1 km left, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/akm.png Anderberg and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Kasperkiewicz leads the group. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/fas.png Van Hooydonck well placed on their wheels. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/cdb.png Per and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Senechal still just behind, not quite managing to catch up

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0061.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/akm.png Anderberg is the strongest. Just a slight accelleration and they leave the other 2 behind.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0062.jpg

With pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen being the strongest. pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/akm.png Anderberg 2nd, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/spz.png Kasperkiewicz 3rd, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/fas.png Van Hooydonck 4th

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0063.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/cdb.png Per takes 5th ahead of pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/tti.png Senechal. Can he keep yellow?

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0064.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/ced.png Siric 7th

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0065.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/rab.png Gerts, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/eko.png Zepuntke and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/evo.png Ovsyannikov fills out the top 10

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0066.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/grm.png Pedersen with the stage!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0067.jpg

But pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/akm.png Anderberg wins the race!

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0068.jpg

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/cdb.png Per just manages to keep the green jersey though

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Reports/PTHC/Franceville/PCM0069.jpg

And pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2025/Micros/brc.png Girmay wins the youth competition!
