Okay. I want to add new scouting zones to my DB, since I like having Japanese, Chinese etc. youth riders. But how do I do it?
I have given up the idea of adding a "complete" zone with map and all that.
But I remember on an old PPDB DB, that they added a feature so when you scouted Canada, you would also get mexican riders eg.
So how do I add such a feature? So that when I scout Brazil I get Argentinians.
Please help me. I am not a complete idiot with the editors, so it wouldn't be a waste of your time |

I'll explain what I've tried so far.
I have found the STA_newriderarea (or something like that) table, and found Brazil and Baltic countries.
In baltic countries, 3 country ID's are mentioned (12,14 & 16), so I went to Brazil, and added 45 & 46 (Argentina & Venezuela), but it didn't help.
Am I on the right way? Or is this way off |

Well, doing that should work.
However, in the Local.cdb, you'll also have to add names in STA_newrider_firstname and _lastname for Argentinian and Venezuelian riders. |

I did that...but I did it in OfficialRelease.cdb
So that might be the problem |

You need to edit the Local.cdb in My Docs/PCM, though
About the crash, I need some more info: Does it crash when exporting? Does it crash in-game - when? |

Ahh, okay...that may be the problem
When I export, it crashes...but only when I edited OriginalLocal |

If it crashes during export, it means that you've forgot to fill out a cell that should've been filled out, or that you've filled it out wrongly, for example by forgetting the ( ) (which is used in some columns). |

I may have forgot something. Anyway, it was just a very small test. 10 names and one nation, so not much was lost |

This is weird. I add Mexico to Canada zone, and it works - Mexican riders come up....But..I added some names, and gave them a unique ID and put 23 (Mexico) in country column.
But all the riders are called Alfredo Abelardo :s
EDIT: I edited the names in Local.cdb form MyDocs folder

That's maybe a bug with the game, I have simulated for about 4 years and I looked on the free agents : about 5 "Alfedo Abelardo" with the hong kong nationality. |

Well, could it be that there's too few combinations? |

Maybe...Canada has a range of 10-15 cyclists, divided by 2 that's roughly 5-6. I think I made 7 first and 7 surnames |

Okay, just checked the names thing. That may be the key. A country like Belarus for instance has 75 different firstnames in the DB.
So massive numbers may be the answer |

Ozzy has made some sort of tool which can extract the most common names used from Wikipedia. I didn't check how it works, but you may find it useful:
