The last month of racing in 2024! Unless something unbelievable happen, we should be well on our way to a long awaited promotion to the Pro Tour at the end of season! More on that later, when the time comes. For now, we concentrate on the last month of racing and the five races that constitute it.
Rider | Role | Daan Olivier | Leader | Alexandor Cataford | Time-Trial | Gijs Leemreize | Super-Domestique | Jonel Carcueva | Domestique | Yamato Shirota | Domestique | Kristjan Hocevar | Domestique | Leo Hayter | Domestique | Ronaldo Singh | Domestique |
The last race for Olivier this season, and we hope he can continue his good form here. This was our most successful race last season, and being the home race, it would be great if we can repeat the same. It is also a goal race for us, so there's added incentive/pressure. We do believe we have team that should score decent depth points as well. Expectation: Top 5 (Top 5 Goal)
Watch Out For: Leo Hayter
Rider | Role | Saya Kuroeda | Leadout | Alexandr Kulikovskiy | Sprinter | Shiki Kuroeda | Leadout | Marten Kooistra | Leadout | Esow Alben | Leadout | Declan Trezise | Leadout | Fran Miholjevic | Domestique | Alejandro Franco | Domestique |
Kulikovskiy has outperformed his stats and wage for most of the season. We are hoping he can end it off on the same note. Expectation: Already raced
Watch Out For: Already raced
Rider | Role | Tiesj Benoot | Leader | Mick Van Dijke | Free Role | Marten Kooistra | Domestique | Kristjan Hocevar | Domestique | Leo Hayter | Domestique | Tim Van Dijke | Domestique | Esow Alben | Domestique | Alejandro Franco | Domestique |
The first of the Benoot triple header to close out the season. We do expect a strong startlist here, so we are tempering our expectations. We do hope Benoot can continue his form from the cobbled hills into this pure hills race though. Expectation: Top 10
Watch Out For: Tiesj Benoot
Rider | Role | Tiesj Benoot | Leader | Mick Van Dijke | Free Role | Yamato Shirota | Domestique | Aviv Yechezkel | Free Role | Kristjan Hocevar | Domestique | Ronaldo Singh | Domestique | Declan Trezise | Domestique | Alejandro Franco | Domestique |
A C1 outing means we have hopes of a better result. Benoot should be up there competing on all the hilly stages. We are hoping for a couple of good stage results and maybe a cheeky KOM push from one of the others. Expectation: Top 5
Watch Out For: Tiesj Benoot
The last race of the year, and like the past two years, it's up to Benoot to end our season on a high! This is another goal race for us, and a major reason for selecting it is because of our good results here in recent seasons. Let's see if we can continue that run. Expectation: Top 5 (Top 5 goal)
Watch Out For: Tiesj Benoot
We hope to finish off our season on a high. With three Benoot races and a Olivier race, our expectations are not low. It's been a good season so far, time to finish it off in style!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@Laurens: Thanks Looking forward to it myself!

The September rankings pretty much confirmed that we were going up to PT unless something incredibly drastic happened! We were not willing to take any chances and with three Benoot races and one from Olivier, we were expecting some good results still.
We had Cataford aiming for a good result in the Stage 1 Prologue. He did fine, securing 4th, just 2 seconds off the pace. Olivier lost some expected time to his GC rivals.
We didn't have a sprinter in this race, so we had on Stage 2.
Stage 3 was the first of two hill stages but it proved to be non-selective. Olivier did finish 10th on the day but didn't make up any time.
Stage 4 was even less selective and had nothing for us!
Stage 5 was the best chance for Olivier to make up ground. While he did get 6th, he still lost considerable time because of his weakness on the TT bike in the opening kilometers of the stage. He moved up to 10th in the GC.
Stage 6 was flat again, and ended in a bunch sprint.
Olivier finished 10th in the GC with Cataford in 41st and Leemreize in 44th. Leemreize finished 4th in the U25s and Hayter was 5th. We finished 10th in the Teams standings.
Franco joined the break. They would be caught with 17 km to go. Kulikovskiy was in a decent position in the sprint build-up but couldn't quite convert that into a top result, settling for 8th.
Another home race, and we were hoping for better. Benoot followed a move from distance, with 40 km to go, but the group was not able to get away. He was in the group of favourites till 10 km to go but couldn't hang on after that and rode his own race to 14th on the day. Mick Van Dijke in 47th and Hayter in 48th also got us points.
Wedidn't have a sprinter here and had no luck on Stage 1.
It was the same again on Stage 2.
Onto the hills on Stage 3 and all our attention was on keeping Benoot safe. Benoot was the first one to launch an attack in the closing kilometers but couldn't make it stick. He wasn't able to get a good position for the final uphill sprint and ended 10th.
Benoot was more subdued on Stage 4, but was able to better position himself on the finishing climb, and got a 6th place out of it.
We did some chasing work on Stage 5. Benoot was in the front row when the final climb started but lost some momentum through the climb and ended up 6th again.
Benoot finished 6th in the GC with Hocevar in 24th and Mick Van Dijke in 29th the other point scorers. Benoot was 9th in the Points. Hocevar was 3rd in the U25s and Mick was 4th. We finished 4th in the Teams standings.
The season ender has always been good for us historically and wished to continue the same. We were at the front of the peloton for most of the chase. After the catch, a large group of favourites reached the final climb together. Benoot was in the second row as the drag up the climb started. Benoot had the legs to come around the leaders inside the final 500 meters and take the win to end the season in the best possible note.
Carcueva got a single point for 30th.
The season ended in the best way possible but the rest of the month was underwhelming. However, now is not the time for negatives as the team has been confirmed to be promoting to the PT for the first time in it's history, after finishing 3rd in the PCT, our best ever result since we started in 2017!

Thanks It was the best way to end our four year PCT run. Hopefully we can carry it into the PT, because you can be sure we'll need it!

Season 2024 has concluded and we're ecstatic to announce that we've finally made it to the PT!! Another record-breaking season helped us get there, in many more ways than one.Let's take a more detailed look as to how we got there...
Race | Category | Goal | Result | Viana do Castelo | C1 | Win | Win | Tour of Japan | HC | Top5 | 10th | Giro dell'Emilia | HC | Top5 | Win | Vuelta a Colombia | PTHC | Top 10 | 6th | PCT Team Standings | PCT | Top 5 | 3rd |
* Green means Goal Achieved. Red means Goal Failed. We put up two goals each for Benoot and Olivier. Benoot made up for his misses last season in the best way possible, by winning both his assigned goal races! Olivier got the Top 10 in Colombia but missed out on the Top 5 in our home race in disappointing fashion. We also achieved our standings goal making it 4/5 in our goal achievements in our promotion season, and our best ever return!
Race | Category | Points | RDs | PpRD | Criterium du Dauphine Libere | PTHC | 275 | 7 | 39.29 | Benelux Challenge | HC | 232 | 6 | 38.67 | Tour de Romandie | HC | 224 | 6 | 37.33 | Arab Tour | HC | 215 | 4 | 53.75 | Circulo de Juarez | HC | 163 | 5 | 32.60 | Post Danmark Rundt | HC | 158 | 5 | 31.60 | Giro dell'Emilia | HC | 145 | 2 | 72.50 | Vuelta a Colombia | PTHC | 140 | 6 | 23.33 | Viana do Castelo | C1 | 136 | 2 | 68.00 | Tour of East Java | PTHC | 128 | 4 | 32.00 | Tour d'Andorra | C1 | 122 | 5 | 24.40 | La Tropicale Amissa Bongo | C1 | 115 | 5 | 23.00 | Tour of the Battenkill | PTHC | 109 | 2 | 54.50 | Tour du Maroc | C1 | 105 | 6 | 17.50 | Milano - Torino | HC | 103 | 2 | 51.50 | Ras Tailteann | PTHC | 102 | 3 | 34.00 | Strade Bianche | HC | 98 | 2 | 49.00 | Le Samyn | HC | 92 | 2 | 46.00 | Tour of Norway | HC | 92 | 5 | 18.40 | Tour of Guadeloupe | C1 | 83 | 4 | 20.75 | Pro Hallstatt Classic | C1 | 82 | 2 | 41.00 | USA Pro Cycling Challenge | C1 | 73 | 3 | 24.33 | Tour of Japan | HC | 68 | 6 | 11.33 | Tour of Britain | C1 | 58 | 5 | 11.60 | GP Kigali | C1 | 56 | 2 | 28.00 | Tour de Pologne | HC | 55 | 7 | 7.86 | Cheshire Cycling Tour | PTHC | 48 | 2 | 24.00 | Volta a Portugal | PTHC | 45 | 8 | 5.63 | Hanko Classic | C1 | 41 | 2 | 20.50 | Franceville Classique | PTHC | 32 | 2 | 16.00 | Euskal Bizikleta | C1 | 32 | 4 | 8.00 | Baltic Chain Tour | C1 | 31 | 5 | 6.20 | Japan Cup | PTHC | 26 | 2 | 13.00 | Isle Of Man TTT | C1 | 25 | 2 | 12.50 | Riga - Jurmala GP | PTHC | 21 | 2 | 10.50 | Badaling International | C1 | 20 | 2 | 10.00 | Omloop Het Nieuwsblad | HC | 20 | 2 | 10.00 | Paris Tours | C1 | 20 | 2 | 10.00 | 1 Jour de Dunkerque | C1 | 19 | 2 | 9.50 | Philadelphia International Championship | PTHC | 19 | 2 | 9.50 | Tour of the Middle East | C2 | 15 | 4 | 3.75 | Clasica San Sebastian | PTHC | 13 | 2 | 6.50 | Torshavn GP | C1 | 12 | 2 | 6.00 | Down Under Classic | HC | 10 | 2 | 5.00 | Uppsala Classic | C2 | 9 | 4 | 2.25 | GP Lugano | HC | 5 | 2 | 2.50 |
The Dauphine turned out to be our best race this season, points-wise, after having been second best last season. After that, it's a lot of HC races near the top. It gives us a special satisfaction that Benelux was this good for us, as we've always been a fan of this race but never having had an outstanding result there. Another satisfying aspect is that we scored in every race for the second season in a row!
Month-Wise Points Progression | January | February | March | April | May | Points | 30 | 401 | 442 | 245 | 385 | RDs | 8 | 21 | 19 | 12 | 15 | PpRD | 3.75 | 19.10 | 23.26 | 20.42 | 25.67 | Rank | 17 | 5 | 8 | 10 | 8 | | June | July | August | September | October | Total | Points | 705 | 414 | 529 | 224 | 317 | 3692 | RDs | 15 | 29 | 20 | 7 | 15 | 163 | PpRD | 47.00 | 14.28 | 26.45 | 32.00 | 21.13 | 22.65 | Rank | 3 | 3 | 3 | 4 | 2 | 3 |
We started off on the slower side but never looked back in the second half of the season. June was the turning point, which propelled us into the promotion spots and we never felt out of it.
That's it for this part of the season review. We will be back soon with Part 2 where we'll look at how our riders performed, provide some season statistics and present our awards for the season...

In this part of our season review, we'll be taking a look at how our riders performed, present some statistics from our race performances and announce the awards for the season.
Rider Analysis - Points, PpRD and Ranking Rider | Points | PpRD | PCT Ranking | Tiesj Benoot | 800 | 21.05 | 9 | Daan Olivier | 780 | 21.67 | 10 | Alexandor Cataford | 451 | 9.60 | 39 | Alexandr Kulikovskiy | 314 | 5.61 | 63 | Damien Howson | 302 | 5.59 | 66 | Saya Kuroeda | 170 | 3.15 | 103 | Gijs Leemreize | 168 | 3.50 | 105 | Mick Van Dijke | 121 | 2.09 | 133 | Jonel Carcueva | 118 | 2.19 | 139 | Aviv Yechezkel | 117 | 1.80 | 140 | Leo Hayter | 58 | 0.79 | 210 | Yamato Shirota | 55 | 0.89 | 219 | Tim Van Dijke | 55 | 0.72 | 220 | Marten Kooistra | 52 | 0.83 | 225 | Declan Trezise | 52 | 0.57 | 224 | Shiki Kuroeda | 51 | 0.89 | 226 | Kristjan Hocevar | 18 | 0.27 | 333 | Esow Alben | 6 | 0.07 | 415 | Ronaldo Laitonjam Singh | 2 | 0.13 | 471 | Alejandro Franco | 1 | 0.01 | 482 | Fran Miholjevic | 1 | 0.07 | 483 |
Benoot fell just 8 points short of our highest ever single season score, set by Choi last season. This is the first time two of our riders have crossed 700 points in the same season. Benoot outscored Olivier overall but the latter achieved a higher PpRD, just missing our best ever by 0.05.
Rider Analysis - Wage/Point Rider | Points | Wage | Wage/Points | Alexandr Kulikovskiy | 314 | 115000 | 366.24 | Alexandor Cataford | 451 | 175000 | 388.03 | Aviv Yechezkel | 117 | 50000 | 427.35 | Damien Howson | 302 | 140000 | 463.58 | Tiesj Benoot | 800 | 410000 | 512.50 | Saya Kuroeda | 170 | 105000 | 617.65 | Daan Olivier | 780 | 530000 | 679.49 | Mick Van Dijke | 121 | 95000 | 785.12 | Gijs Leemreize | 168 | 140000 | 833.33 | Tim Van Dijke | 55 | 50000 | 909.09 | Jonel Carcueva | 118 | 110000 | 932.20 | Marten Kooistra | 52 | 50000 | 961.54 | Declan Trezise | 52 | 50000 | 961.54 | Yamato Shirota | 55 | 60000 | 1090.91 | Kristjan Hocevar | 18 | 25000 | 1388.89 | Shiki Kuroeda | 51 | 100000 | 1960.78 | Leo Hayter | 58 | 115000 | 1982.76 | Esow Alben | 6 | 50000 | 8333.33 | Alejandro Franco | 1 | 10000 | 10000.00 | Fran Miholjevic | 1 | 10000 | 10000.00 | Ronaldo Laitonjam Singh | 2 | 110000 | 55000.00 |
Our midfield, in terms of OVL, led the way in terms of return on wages, with Kulikovskiy havng an exceptional season for his wage. Cataford was not far behind, with Yechezkel and Howson also under the 500 mark. This is better than last season, where we had three riders go under 500.

Spoiler Tiesj Benoot
With two classics wins, multiple podiums and being our highest scoring rider, it is no surprise that Benoot wins the Rider of the Year award for the season time.
Spoiler Gijs Leemreize
Leemreize drastically improved from last season to take on the mantle of the best young rider in our squad this season. He was an able sub-top leader in races where Olivier and Benoot could lead.
Spoiler Giro dell'Emilia
A race we've come to love and do well in, we controlled the action in the pack from the get-go and delivered Benoot to the best possible position to get the win, and end the season in the best possible way. A special mention to the other classics wins Viana do Castelo and Pro Hallstatt Classic, as ell our highest scoring race in Criterium Dauphine.

@ember: Hoping that the achieved goals translates to a good budget because we'll need to do a good rebuild with mostly aging leaders. Hopefully you are right about our first PT team!
@Ivan: Thank you
@wj: Will need every dollar!
Funny thing is we had Arab Tour as Top 5 OR goal to Tour of Japan. We finished 2nd there

A great season and coming up to PT with a great budget. I know you always wanna be competitive and it seems like you have a good base to get there

Thanks It was a good season indeed. Benoot is definitely now the best rider we've ever had. Not sure how well ToNE will suit him though. Agree on the TTers, they exceeded my expectations as well!

First congrats on your promotion, a really great and i would say consistent season which lead to a well deserved success. With a team build that thought-out it should be also be a good year for you the next season.
Also nice to read and investigate all the statistics here!
