anyway...Loved Sep in his whole career, a kind of rider that's rarer and rarer (pure cobbler) PR was his race. Also '16 looked probably the strongest of his group, unfortunately he couldn't break away solo.

And we lost another one, Tijl De Decker (won junior Paris-Roubaix this year) died after a crash while training on wednesday. Why do we have to keep making these posts?

And to make it even more horrible.. Jumbo-Visma cyclist Nathan van Hooydonck has had a car accident this morning. He got a heart attack while driving the car (with his pregnant wife next to him) and he crashed into several other cars. He had to be reanimated and is currently in critical condition in the hospital.
Let's hope he'll make it.

He's being held in an artificial coma at, but the first tests indicate no brain damage. So there's hope.
Also I want to punch all the idiots on social media starting about side effects of a Jumbo-Visma doping program an/or covid vaccinations.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I doubt they'd be realising that statement if he wasn't out of any danger.
Him driving the car is definitely not the first thing you think about when you read about a cyclist being involved in a traffic accident. It looks like a tragedy was avoided today and especially lucky no one else was harmed in the accident.

Nathan van Hooydonck has to retire due to the heart problems that lead to his nearly fatal car accident. The only good news is that he is still here to retire.

Big rumours about a Quick Step - Jumbo fusion. Pretty much the best two teams joining forces, but budgetwise they would be on par with Ineos and UAE again.

I'll miss Peter. In my head he's still a young talent. His 'downfall' in performances came also quite sudden. In 2019 he was still amazing, his 2020 season was difficult, his 2021 season was okay. It's sad to see him leave because he was a very enjoyable cyclist.
I'm not very fond of the potential Jumbo - Quick-Step team. I'd rather see them as two separate teams. I really hope it won't happen but I don't feel very optimistic about it.

The UCI needs some kind of anti-trust law against this stuff.
As far as Sagan, it was kind of weird how quickly he fell off.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

So, quite a lot of interesting news lately...
As written by Ollfardh, Visma - Soudal or however it would've been called is unlikely to happen - instead, Jumbo - Visma might become Visma - Amazon. And Soudal should continue until 2025 at least.
Mark Cavendish will get another chance to get his record win, as he adds "Just one more year" to his great career, extending his contract with Astana by one year. I somehow saw it coming, but it's still good news that it's confirmed now
And Roglic, whose departure from Jumbo was already confirmed by the team earlier on, will join... no, not Ineos, but Bora! Looking forward to find out what's left in his legs, the support shouldn't be too bad there at least.

Happy with all three sets of news there! Don't merge two of the longest running teams; more Cav; and less Jumbo dominance!

I instantly remembered the situation, but needed to research the names too. It was stage 5 in 2017, Luka Pibernik was the 'winner' while Gaviria actually won the stage, so a South American was indeed involved, it's just the wrong role (though Gaviria surely wouldn't agree ).

in 2025 there will be a new WT race for both men and women in Denmark, starting from Roskilde and arriving at Copenhagen. This crowns the development of Danish cycling.
