AKA finishes second in a PT uphill sprint on the same day Guldhammer manages to lose a minute and a half. How? Who knows. Somehow him, Aranburu, Olesen, and Eg all got caught out on hills that AKA could manage. Maybe tomorrow pigs will start flying.

I'd be pissed, but we're a wildcard team, so what the hell? AKA showed off and continues to look strong this year, which is nice. Hopefully we got the random GC bad luck out of the way in a race where it doesn't matter. Let's just keep showing the jersey and having fun.

I guess the loss of Farantakis in the split cost Coquard here, but also didn’t really see the finish being this difficult. Not happy with the result of course, but it is what it is, and the rest of the team (bar Farantakis) did good. Giannoutsos is picking up some small points to make up for some of the dissapointment from Coquard.

I'm not going to ask for a replay because it'd just get called an attempt to undo Areruya's time loss, but I thought we stopped doing narrow roads on sprint finishes, especially when there's also twists and turns in the final kms? A bit disappointing to see.

Also love that 65HI Rowe can survive and 79/79 Areruya and 76/75 Higuita can't.

A solid start for Silvio with a good prologue that leaves just a handful of riders within serious reach, and two safe sprint finishes.
Vasyliv and Mager sticking with the front group keeps us in the fight for a good teams classification result as well.

The fact that he hasn't really participated in them (especially S3) to get some easy points for green has been more than made up for by the fact that the lottery up front sees the best sprinters at just 34 points and thus well within reach in the upcoming stages.
Areruya and Guldhammer losing time is really unfortunate for their teams, but surely a welcome surprise for us as those two are among the biggest favorites for tomorrow's downhill sprint, which leaves especially Yates and Morton as the danger men in the fight for the leader's jersey.

Bring on the first ramps of his 81hil life! A podium is a must.

I like the fact that KoM leaders do attack from the peloton for available points now, and a great outcome for Lampawog to keep the jersey for one more day.

Positive signs too that Godoy is sat forward enough in the pack to avoid those kinds of unfortunate post-climb positional splits.

The finish looked like it could have suited Hofstetter well but unfortunatelly he started his sprint too far behind.

Vosekalns being dropped might not be the worst thing as it hopefully gives him more space to attack...

Awesome stage win from Bewley Grin thats pretty much what our goal was for this race, so very happy now. If we can do some breakaway action aswell that would be great, but already more than happy!

I don't think that was a narrow road. It was twisty and bumpy. There is a narrow finish we missed later but I don't think it had any impact on the result.

I also don't think those two riders lost time due to their stats - they lost time due to positioning and given the parcours and the number of sprinters and GC guys wanting to be up front that two of the lesser contenders might get caught out doesn't strike me as unrealistic. Not to say it doesn't suck and wasn't bad luck - if the peleton breaks 10 riders later they both make it.

I wonder if de la Cruz was trying to help Coquard because that was infuriatingly bad! Seems like he and Giannoutsos threw the GC to keep Coquard as high as possible. I can’t think of another explanation, but that will cost a lot of points…

Two PT stage podiums in as many days. Not bad at all! The teams is working hard and being very active, which is awesome to see. Guldhammer proved that his losses yesterday were not strength related and he's recovered fine.

Congrats to Cio on a deserved win for Silvio. Should be smooth sailing from here for him.

Great to see Vosekalns active in the hunt for the break and the KoM points. That's what i expect from him this race. A bit unfortunate that he started his attack a little over a kilometer too early on the cat.1 climb but hard to blame him when all the top sprinters do the same all the time :P

Hopefully, he will continue to ride this way on the next stages!

Congrts cio, seems like the race is decided :P

Wonderful team effort to have three riders in that main group. Hopefully this means either Brambilla or Majka can also get a good GC result here.

Losing those seconds to Herklotz doesn't mean much as Dombrowski's fight is with other riders for the second and third place, not first.

And it's good to see the team leading the Young riders rankings Pfft

Brilliant! Smile Thank you bbl and knockout!

It was getting worringly stale up front, but why attack uphill when there's still just enough of a skill gap in acceleration and descending.
Amazing work from Silvio, and luckily rewarded with a time gap as well, which isn't a guarantee on these hilly stages.

The rest of the team took it rather easy, which I can't say I'm a fan of per se if the saved energy won't be used to our advantage tomorrow.
I hope we can show our team depth better on the long climbs and with a leader's jersey to defend.

It's far from over yet though, we can't get complacent and just react to the race situation from now on. Finding the perfect mix of aggressive and smart racing has always been what set Herklotz apart from the majority of climbers, and we need to remain attentive and ready to take risks.

And a shoutout to Madouas for appearing on a favorites list for the first time! It'll take some training, but he'll be on many more in the future. Pfft

2nd behind Herklotz is like a stage win really! I was hoping the fact that the fact that there was some intent from the team to set pace was a sign of good form for Godoy, and so it was. The time bonuses neatly take away the TT deficit.

Bewley Shock A legend indeed, awesome to steal some extra points for being 2nd in GC going into next stage.

Herløptz will take this, but to me this stage was like another stage win

No curse this year - good to see the rainbow win again after Wisniowski going winless last year.

Happy with the performance from the boys. Active and trying to get something going. Hopefully Vingegaard can hang on decently in the mountains.

Man, I just love this race! The team worked hard, Guldhammer forced the issue and battled back several times, and he takes the team's third straight stage podium. Unreal performance by the Carlsberg boys. Seeing Rasmus soar up the mountains in a PT race wearing Carlsberg colors is just as much of a dream come true as is possible in this game. Truly.

And don't look, but there's Niklas Eg, homegrown fan favorite, riding to a PT top 20! Almost just as sweet. Grin

Without the split we'd be third on GC, but honestly I just don't care. Guldhammer has more than redeemed himself, and it really feels like our team has taken a fundamental step forward by featuring so strongly here. It feels special.

Not to mention, the reports have been absolutely phenomenal! Thank you Ulrich!

Herklotz acing it here! Smile Congrats mate!

I would have hoped for better things from our team. We haven't joined a breakaway attempt yet despite having numerous candidates and David de la Cruz unfortunately doesn't really work the way I would have hoped. Up to 20th GC gives a small amount of points, but he really needs to be inside the top 15, and so far there's no sign of that happening.

Also the U25 hopes I had prior to the race seems gone and with just two more stages to go it also seems unrealistic to target the KOM. I hope to see Mavrikakis, Giannoutsos, Rochas or even de la Cruz attempting to do something in the two upcoming stages so we can atleast say we tried. After the poor outing from Coquard we are seriously struggling to achieve the minimum expected points here.
