Welcome, your objective for season one is to finish ahead of Philips. Good luck

Absolute scenes when you don't promote but a bunch of the new guys do.

I mean I was purely reffering to 2020, also can't wait to see relegate straight back while they go up.

In a less bity fashion, nice to see so few disbands.

Sad to see trek go as what I know was that he was in the process of evaluating and re-attaching. One of the coolest teams and nicest managers will be missed, what a great project it was. Cheers trekkySad

No surprises for me here. Relegation was never the plan but always a pretty big possibility, and it came to fruition int he final standings. Here it is confirmed.

I am very sorry to see you go Trek. You've been a great manager and contributed a lot to the game. The situation last year was really crappy, and I totally understand why it led to a lack of motivation going forward. The relegation/promotion controversy sucked, and I made my thoughts on it clear then - I thought it was somewhat bizarre and unfair to keep 2 people of a tight 3 man race and send the other down when we had already not followed the standard 5 down rule.

However, I honestly do take offense to this:

"Also, I'm just gonna be clear that the reason Cyprus broke our season was because of how bad our luck had been beforehand, Vantomme had a terrible season and Kwiat was underperforming a bit too, and the worst part is we didn't even need to score in Cyprus to avoid relegation (despite having the favourite), it was just that the race also happened to gift Carslberg a huge amount of points, despite them bringing a team with no real scoring prospects."

I know how frustrating it can be when your guys unexpectedly under-perform, especially when you see other teams with worse leaders scoring ahead of you. It's not fun to see the game screw you over. But to scapegoat another manager seems a little unnecessary and I feel is frankly inaccurate in this case.

I brought leaders on every single terrain for that race: Appollonio, Vanspeybrouck (Nolf), Garby and Juul-Jensen. It had to be my strongest all around squad all year, maybe ever. It's not like we did unexpectedly well in GC or anything. We didn't score any GC points at all. We just had good stage results because we brought leaders for every stage and got a little lucky with JJ's aggression, which in PCM 15 wasn't a surprise anymore after 2017.

Calling my results a "gift" makes it seems like we sent our D tier squad there and won GC, which just didn't happen. To say we had "no real scoring prospects" is revisionist history when we had a leader for every stage. Eg getting 5th from the breakaway was the only time a guy scored for us who wasn't a leader, and him being in the break on a mountain stage was certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

The race was very strange and not conducive to normal results. You definitely were hit the hardest by it. But honestly, if your entire season depends on the results of a new C1 race to begin with, you're already toeing a line of risk in this game imo. It sucks a lot because it led to your relegation, but in the end you officially finished in the relegation zone that was laid out many seasons beforehand. You would have promoted again this year while keeping that strong young core, so you had a chance to start fresh. I'm sorry you won't be here to do so.

So this will be a whole new experience after being accustomed to the CT for 4 years. To avoid being the typical "yo-yo team" I'll need to structure the team better. And it all starts with the renewals - let's see what I'll do from this point on and do I have what it takes.

I'm sorry BBL, that wasn't meant to come out like that, I'm just tired of the same old lines being repeated about how we deserved to relegate because we shouldn't be putting so much faith on one race and wanted to stress how little we needed to achieve from it.

Apparently I misremembered the full result and overrepresented the points you got, for that I'm really sorry. I'm a big fan of your team and didn't meant to discredit you at all. This was a long time ago and I'm not checking results again or anything.

Though I'm a bit annoyed how you (like everybody else) stated that our season was dependant on one race, it really wasn't. We had a terrible season, Vantomme was underwhelming, LNH and Dyrnes both did nothing and we got very few breakaway points unlike most teams. But I had built well enough that season that despite everything, my team could actually handle all of that and still stay up, the fact that one of the races with really high potential scoring for Kwiat also went wrong in such a stupid way just sealed it in the end and it's not even like Kwiat had a stellar season otherwise, it was pretty average for him too.

---

I hope I can leave it at that now, nothing can be changed now so there's no point arguing about it. Just be careful guys about your ability to screw over individuals without considering the need for consistency or anything, there were many ways this could've gone were I still relegated but was content (albeit disappointed) with it, but you guys managed to take the absolute worst route, and it's going to happen again eventually with the way you make decisions atm and it's gonna suck for whoever it happens to.

Sorry is I came off as hostile. Please don't think I'm discrediting your frustration or trying to single out everything to that one race as if your planning was poor. I only referred to Cyprus specifically as the deciding factor because that is the race you brought up again in your original post. I realize your relegation season was a culmination of a lot of disappointments, and that Cyprus was just the nail in it.

I also agree that organizationally you came out on the wrong end of several decisions, which would frustrate the hell out of me too. Hell, I'm the one who was constantly complaining earlier in the year about how PCM 18 testing had been overstated, and how I felt that (unintentional) deception had hurt my team a lot. In the end I relegated. So I get that, even more so because you in particular were hurt by those decisions whereas I was one of a bunch of teams to be hurt by PCM 18 this year.

No hard feelings on my end. I just had to say my piece about my team in that race. I wish you the best in the future and will definitely miss you in this game and on this site. You had a great team and were a great contributor to this game.

Take care man!

That's a good way to kick someone while they're down, thanks admins. (nothing against Lierse btw, they just got caught in the middle) Literally a simple sorry at any point probably would've made me feel a bit better at least. (oh and whichever people nominated/voted it for Cyprus as race of the year, was that a joke, what was that?)

[...] and if Roturn, tsmoha or anybody else who argued for no Cyprus replay go after any of my talents, give them hell please.

Not sure, why you're bringing up certain users to explain your exit, but I can honestly say, that I won't go after any of those talents. No hell for me then.

To exit a game like this because of lack of motivation due to a disappointing season is fine enough for me. Unfortunately, you're still on the "a few members destroyed my season" wagon, which I still don't like. (Yes, I know, you kept saying, that the whole season was a disapointment, but still you're first post goes strongly against those "certain members" and one decision.) Still wouldn't replay Cyprus, by the way. Which was never meant to be towards Lierse or against you. Don't even recall the whole relegation situation. But bad AI would never be an argument though, as we all got/get hit by terrible AI by times - not matter which route you have. (And I can garantuee, that for Cyprus there were made tons of testing. As for all races, the chance for a proper AI was given - PCM's AI just doesn't take this chance every time you do a race). When your leader decides to sit up, well, s**t happens?! I'm talking as a manager of Lachlan Morton, who had several terrible results, just because he sat up or missed splits et cetera (not talking about his bad ACC, which wasn't always the reason for not performing). A manager, who saw Jack Bobridge doing nothing in 2019, after years of being our most consistent scorer. It was frustrating at times, yes. I also was "mimimi" at times. But I NEVER (and that you could look it up, if you had too much time) raised my voice against some certain members.

This is probably my last post on this topic and I still thank you for your contribution to the MG.
