Formula 1 2015 Season
atlanta
Agree with most mate but if Ferrari are up there challenging like Ric did for the odd win alot would have changed. Lets be honest it is about time Ferrari were quick such a huge team with huge resources.

Marrusia has payed the admission fee to get into Formula 1, they asked if they could use their 2014 car but Force India voted against them. So if Marussia can get two drivers, make two cars they will be in the Formula 1 2015 season

Bit more complex of course. Marussia would need to update their 2014 car to match the new 2015 rules on chassis and the nose area. Namely this means changing the front nulkhead to be 50mm lower, and apprently this is almost impossible to do by modding a 2014 car. There's also problems that to get in using an old car would basically need a rule change, deadline for that was last June so would be open to legal action from other teams etc.

Force India apparently were the only team to openly veto the move, but Sauber and Williams were also very strongly against the move. Also Ferrari hadn't commited to giving Marussia a 2015 engine, which might not fit into the 2014 car.

All is not lost for Marussia though. Teams can miss two races so they have until 12th April to get it all together and approved by teams and the FIA. Still doable if they can provide a modified car to show and get someone to give them an engine (i'd guess Ferrari).

Things arn't as good at Caterham. Their remaining assets are due to be auctioned off soon which would realistically mean the end of their chances to get back in. Again it's still possible to do so given they can miss two races but they've got no firm sponsor plans and hvn't mentioned using an old car yet.

Whilst i would love to see both teams, or at least one, on the grid i don't think it would happen and i don't think it should happen at this point. Hopefully the Haas team in 2016 will be better looked after by the sport than HRT, Caterham and Marussia were.

Thoughts? It's based on just a few simple changes to the technical regs. I think it looks far too much like a hot wheels, and I'm not sure F1's current problems have much to do with the styling of the cars. Is pretty nifty though.

reminds me on the RedBull X2010(or whatever)...which they invented for Gran Turismo...tbh. I like the actual cars, as they are. F1 needs some more teams in the first place I think.

It would never be allowed as its not an open wheeler (wheels out of the body). it does look like hot wheels as well Smile I also agree that design isn't the problem with F1, as boring races are much more impactful on the future of the sport.

It's an open wheeler. But still you are right that it will never be allowed.

Yeah, I realised that after I posted. Forgot what the definition of open wheeler is....

In real F1 news Pfft
Jolyon Palmer, GP2 Champion, will run Day 2 of the next test for Lotus. Also Bahrain are being d*cks trying to block a race going to Qatar. I say d*cks because Qatar has hosted many excellent MotoGP events.

And back to fun news Pfft

Also I saw that Susie Wolff will run day 1 for Williams.

Lotus needs to give Palmer that seat time though, he deserves to be in F1 and the only reason Maldonado is ahead of him is due to sponsorship from a nation whose economy is falling apart. They'll want to keep him in their setup.

For how much Maldonado crashes, he's still better than Palmer. A lot better. I wouldn't put Palmer instead of Maldonado in the car.

And in the stupid news of today, FIA bans different helmets throught the season. Great idea for F1. Oh wait, that will help save the sport from death. Of course it will. It's a great idea. How come no one ever thought that would save the sport?...

Wehrlein is rom the MErcedes developement program, it seems like it´s an exchange: Wehrlein has the Chance to test at Force India, while Force India won´t have to pay an open bill for an engine from Mercedes...

Vettel gonna hate that, being stuck to one helmet all season

Nasr crashed into the back of Wolff today, probably the biggest news. Also Rosburg has some neck issues and is expected to run a reduced test load himself. Honda discovered an engine problem that puts them into difficulties for this test, hopefully fixed for the next test. Force India still running the 2014 car so that 4th place is interesting.

I've been dealing with some medical stuff this morning and wasn't watching. Was it just straight up Nasr's fault, or did Wolff stop short/take a bad line?
