Questions
-Alex-
Hello !

I've some questions about pcm 2014.

-If i play in hard mode in 3D, are the simulated stages simulated in hard ? So do I have a disadvantage against the IA to simulate some stages in hard ?

-About the stats inflation, does anyone have tested to play with a 0.4 or 0.3 evolution speed ? Is it better ?

Thanks Smile

1. No, in the simulation the difficulty is always the same, normal, so that you don't have any kind of disadvantages.

2. I actually play with 0.3 stat evolution, but after doing some test I can say that I didn't notice any differences about the stat inflation, that this year is truly unbearable.

Ok, thank you Smile

And for the stats inflation, is it really so bad ?
Because I guess that it's the same for each cyclist. So they are better than in the beginning, but the differences of level are not bigger than before.

No, with stat inflation I usually mean too many riders with high stats (e.g. 20 riders with >80 in MO).

Ok but, does it have a impact on the results ? Are they realistic ?

Hmm, not completely to be honest.

If you have too many riders on 83 mountain, you'll have more contenders in a gt than IRL. But I haven't tested it enough to give you a reliable enough response.

Well part of it is that it just doesn't ''look nice'' to have a lot of guys on 81+. I mean, it suggests you're among world's bests if you're 80+ and well, you aren't when there's stat inflation.
Also, I believe the differences between cyclists are higher between 83 & 84 than 78 & 79, meaning it might be less fun if you have a cyclist on 85, who would be practically unbeatable.
Playing 0,3 myself as well, seems the most realistic one.

Ok thanks for the response.
Do you have a print screen of the best cyclists in your career in 2018 or 2019 for example ?
I think i'll play with 0.3 too.

Jesleyh
Nope, I don't have the motivation to get that far in a career Grin

Not having any career I'm focussing on(having tons in 2014 and 2015 somewhere, I believe that's the furthest I got this year) so don't count on me for screenshots Wink

I believe the general forum opinion is that 0,3 is most realistic though Wink

So, let's go for a career !

I played up to the year 2032 with PCM 2009! The game got very stingy creating new strong riders. In 2032, there were only two riders with climbing 80+!

Fo the game to remain a challenge it wouldn't be bad if it constantly generated as many strong climbers/GC contenders as there are in the beginning. Because the fewer good climbers there are, the better the chance the user will collect them all and become invincible. Those two 80+ climbers? In my team, of course. And between them they win all the GTs.

So I don't think it's a question of lowering the stats progression speed in the long run. It should help if you only want to play for a few seasons (which will take long enough). In the first few seasons, there are already a lot of strong riders plus plenty more with potential and by stunting their progression there'll be less "inflation" (number of top riders) for a while. But at some point all these riders grow old and retire and with a stunted progression you might end up with riders who'll never reach their potential.

Well PCM 2009 might not give a good reflection for the newer games imo. XMLs and stuff are very different now.

I don't have screenshots as I'm at work but in one of my careers I found this American guy who was to be a future great climber. I was playing with evolution 0.5.

I signed him for my second season and he had something like 72 in Mountain and Hills and something like 71 AVG. At the end of season 3, he had 84 in MO and 78 AVG. He was a bit poor in TT but after one complete season I won the Giro with him. It was at that point that I decided to start a new career and play with evolution 0.3 at it makes it a bit more realistic in terms of progression.

In my new career, I found this Classics rider who was to be a Future Great again, he had 73 when he signed for my team and a couple of seasons after he "only" had 77 or 78, with still some potential to improve.

Ok thank you for the response Smile

I've another question about something completely different.
In the Tour Med, in a simulated stage, all the cyclists gave up but though, there was a general classification. An in the next stage, they just restarted.
Does anyone experienced this ? does this happen a lot ?
