Not really. I guess he's just out of money.

Didnt he just say that he is "almost there" with the team? I guess its possible that one or two riders will sign with Saxo, but probably just riders like Rasch or something like that Pfft

I mean sprinters who can only sprint with trains in front of them.

Are you sure there's any ?

Cippolini is one of the biggest examples. But you got also Boonen, petacchi, Greipel and even Cavendish some sort of way. With train he is unbeatable and if the train is not on the track he is beatable like Greipel did in the Tour of this year. Freire never needed one that makes him a pure sprinter.

They get a train built around them because they're the fastest, no matter what.
They're not the fastest because they've got a train.
Of course getting a train helps, when you're of the kind of sprinter that could benefit from one.

Team Vorarlberg gets awesome points for signing Daniel Rinner from Liechtenstein Grin

I always thought that 'pure sprinter' was the term used for guys like Cavendish, that is, for guys who can win only in bunch sprints, while guys like Freire are more versatile riders.

Anyway, none of the guys you have listed win only with sprint trains, and all of them have showed this quite a few times, even Cavendish.

Its not about only wins with sprint trains. Nobody does that. But be beatable and unbeatable. Thats he point. The art of sprinter to me is taking risks, fichting for a wheel, be good at tiny spaces, right moment to launch, intelect and off course the best one using as little energie to prepare for a sprint.

That is what I call a pure sprinter who knows his art.

Cavendish is very good at that then. One of the best I'd say. He is (almost) unbeatable with his train, and still will win most sprints without his train. He's the best pure sprinter around at the moment, head and shoulders above the rest, even according to your definition.

And don't get me wrong, I like Freire a lot, and don't really like Cavendish, but let's give credit where it's due.

Sanchez really said that, it´s for the 12/13 transfer season, though:

Anyone hear anything about a new Norwegian Continental Team for next year? I heard one of my old teammates (whose dad was a diplomat stationed in the US for a bit) from my junior team got signed to it...

Yeah, there should come another norwegian continental team for the next season. The father to one of the most talented junior riders, Sondre Holst Enger, 12th at the WC this year, is starting it. He's a senior next year, and he won't ride for his father's team, as he has signed for "Hushovd's team," Plussbank - BMC.

But there hasn't been much news about the team in Norway, actually I'm not sure there has been any news about the team, but the team should still form, according to "sources" Pfft

Who is your old teammate?

I'm not sure he'd be willing to ride for peanuts, though.

Steensen and Vandborg will not have their contracts renewed with Saxo Bank.

Elias Husoy. I didn't know him well, as I only raced with him once and rode with him a few times beyond that. He wouldn't remember me (nor did I remember him until I heard about his being signed to a Continental squad from a mutual old teammate this weekend).
